Good clear sound, not noise cancelling
I like these. I'm not a hardcore audiophile, and I haven't tried many comparable phones because I don't really want to pay over $30-- Considering what these are going for new in the Amazon Marketplace, they're great for that price (under $10 +s/h as I write).

Wow...
It all started well over a year ago when I first bought my iPod, I recieved the shiny, white apple earbuds that came with it. Although they skimped on audio quality (big time), it made up for in comfort and looks. It was one of the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn, and after the 40th minute or so, you start feeling the discomfort, but with these, its less of it...
It all started well over a year ago when I first bought my iPod, I recieved the shiny, white apple earbuds that came with it. Although they skimped on audio quality (big time), it made up for in comfort and looks. It was one of the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn, and after the 40th minute or so, you start feeling the discomfort, but with these, its less of it. They also feel great when pushed up against a pillow as I sleep with music on often. Basically, they feel and look great.
Yes, 14 monthes ago, the apple ear buds are probably one of the best, if not THE best pair of head phones I've ever used. But somewhere during the 10-11th month, they slowly started to break down. 4 months later, they have turned from breaking down to a pile of taped-together crap. It was time to get new ones.
I started carousing the site for ear buds, time after time I was led back to the trademark Apple ones for their known quality in design. Seeing as they were priced at 6.99USD I was thrilled and immediately ordered them.
That's pretty much the end of my happiness, upon receiving my new pair of supposedly "Apple" ear buds, I instead receive this utter piece of foreign scum. They feel generic, cheap, and used. The grippy parts of the Apple ear buds are replaced by aged rubber thats long lost its friction. On top of that, these feel as if they were custom modifications of a shoddy mafia man working out of his garage with nothing but used earphones found in the trash coupled with decade-old piano wire wrapped in saran. They no longer carry the signature comfort of Apple's ear buds, and their appearance was a half-hearted attempt at emulation. THIS PRODUCT IS a humiliation and a shame to Apple. (I doubt that such shoddiness would ever be approved by Apple, for that matter I doubt they are even aware that their name is being tarnished in such blatent poor taste and that the producers of this product, whom was most definitely NOT Apple Inc. is using it's name to fool it's customers into falsely relating this trash product to the quality that Apple is known for).
The point of this review is that for what I've gotten, from the vendor "MyGift," at 6.99, should have been worth 3.99 for it's relative lack of quality of which I expected from an Apple product (if it is indeed a legit Apple product). As a consumer I feel fooled into buying something I thought had quality, but ultimately didn't. Also, as a consumer I feel obliged to watch out for my fellow consumers to not make the same mistake I did in falling for this riotous lie. Do not be fooled or enticed by the low price, as you end up getting less than what you paid for, as you should invest your money elsewhere.
While I cannot speak on behalf of the other vendors, I am certain MyGift is 100% NOT the place to go to buy Apple earbuds (as due to their piss-poor quality, it will start falling apart by next week, or maybe even month, if I'm lucky), nor would I suggest doing business with them for any other product.
MyGift: Either shape up your product or take the "Apple" out of the name, you've gone tarnishing their reputation for long enough.

We were very disapointed when we received these to find out that the were just a cheap imitation of the real ipod headphones, even though the picture shown is of the real thing. Don't buy these!!!

I'am a big Apple fan. I love how innovative they are. But whoever designed these headphones should be ashamed. I really don't complain that much when they come with the iPods, because it's expected. But for Apple to actually charge 30 Buck's for them is completly ridiculous. First of all there poorely made. I have used them with my iPod before & literly in a couple of week's one side would be shorted out. Secondly they are constantly falling out of you'r ears. I know that all earbuds will slip out from time to time, but not everytime you move you'r head. Thirdly & most importantly in my oppinion. They are just really uncomfortable in you'r ears. Evertyime i use these headphones, my ears are really sore afterwards. I mean it shouldn't be this many problems with a pair of headphones. Apple is trully an amazing company. Please don't think I'am in nany way trying to knock them. I just think that a company that makes trully amazing product like the iPod, could make a much better pair of headphones.

I needed a new pair of Ipod headphones as my original pair were wearing and the plastic around the headphone was coming off. I had looked at the cheap "so called, Ipod Headphones" but i knew what kind of quality that I would get. So I found these for $30 and went ahead and ordered them thinking that they were orignal Apple Ipod headphones. Boy was I wrong. When i had recieved them they were in really bad packaging and so i took the benefit of the doubt and plugged them into my Ipod and i was shocked of what i was hearing. The sound would cut in and out with the movement of the cord and the sound quality completely was not acceptable. These are NOT actual Apple Ipod headphones. I guess when i pay $30 for something i want what im paying for, which was not the case. I could have paid 5 bucks for the same pair. So i returned them. Within a couple of days the seller contacts me asking me why im returning them. So i explained the reason why. Then they say "We will send out an upgraded version of the headphones to you." Which i am completely shocked, when i say "I should have gotten the upgraded version, the actual Apple Headphones in the first place!" Then i am asked to take down my negative feedback. I told them... When i get the real deal, that will happen. I still have yet to receive them. And its been a couple weeks. So for anyone looking at purchasing these, I would not recommend doing so. its a waste of your money for a cheap imitation. Go buy a cheap pair for 5 bucks on here. you will get the same quality. These are NOT the real thing. I am posting this because they did not post my feedback because it was so negative and i would not remove it.

The sound of this headphones is good enough. However considering that they last less than 1 year because of the outer gray plastic peeling off, it's an expensive option.

This order was made through Eleven Adar, an Amazon Prime eligible source. I note this because I think Amazon sort of consolidates reviews of similar products under one or another product. These were advertised and pictured as being Apple Earbuds. They came in a box identical to a real Apple retail box and with an Apple logo. The earbuds arrived wadded up inside the box which was suspicious, and the transducers rattled like castinets inside the earbuds themselves. Visually, the dead giveaway was the lack of gray thermoplastic rings around the outsides of the earbuds. I came to Amazon because this sort of thing has become par for the course over at EBay. Oh well. I returned them.

I like that they aren't noise cancelling, which undermines the deep bass you might hope for, but allows you to still be aware of what's going on around you, which I prefer. The sound is really pretty clear and good. The little rubber sliding piece that holds the two separate wires together above the split is nice-- moves easily and stays put. This is a small feature, but it really helps to keep them securely in your ears (even though you may look kind of silly with the wires coming together just a couple of inches under your chin, looking less than super-cool being an obvious problem for many iPod rocking hipsters). I rarely have trouble with them falling out-- pretty much only running or doing hard physical work.
I agree with some other posters about durability: the grey rubber strip around the bud head came off in 6 months or so, and the hood on the plug end pulled loose where it overlaps the cable, exposing the inner wires, so I had to tape it, which is kind of lame. That said, I regularly loop the cable up and hook the ends together and stash the buds in my front jeans pocket, unprotected from inner-pocket rubbing, so I would expect some deterioration. Despite my regular beatings, however, the sound is still as good as it was when I got them, almost a year and a half ago. I'm about to buy another pair because they look so haggard, but I am buying another pair rather than getting something else.

Everyone knocks these, but I think they sound pretty good for the price. You just can't get really good earbuds in this range. Yes, there's not much bass, but they are bright and clear compared to the competition. Unfortunately, they hurt to wear. When I do find an almost comfortable fit, they fall out. Completely useless for exercise and not good for long listening. Somebody should make covers for these -- like the ear jams (which do not fit the new earbuds).
Update: After time, these get more comfortable -- or perhaps I figured out a better way to wear them. Those who say the sound is bad have not tested similarly priced buds. None are great in this price-range, but these are more than adequate for most listeners and better than most. True, bass is limited, but that's mostly the type of bud. You'll get better bass with a plug that fits into your ear canal -- although not from one this price.

The earphones work great and the shipping and handling was fast. I had my earphones on time to take them to work. So far the product is good but not real like the iPod headphones. The plastic wire that covers the earphones seems to be a little stiffer than the original ones making it harder to straighten. But overall the product is great.

i've been using this for 2 yrs. About 2 wks ago, the sound in the right ear bud became thinner. But 2 yrs is not bad, especially since is not expensive. They fit into my ear well, never falls out while i'm working out. The sound quality is not bad, if u r not very particular about getting the ear bud with the best sound, this one definitely works. Overall i like it, i'm getting another one.
