1.0 out of 5 stars activation problem when used with SC-001 control panel
I was trying to use this product as an additional external siren to the alarm installed in SC-001 control panel and I was disappointed because it will not sound unless it was activated (armed) by the keychain transmitter. Arming SC-001 control panel and AA-433 Audio Alarm at the same time with one single button push of keychain transmitter is almost impossible due to...

4.0 out of 5 stars Only one drawback..., May 30, 2009

Overall I like this product (and the entire system)... this product really only has one drawback: it doesn't participate in system "beeps"... while it DOES alarm when the system ALARMS, it doesn't beep when the system arms/disarms or when the system count-down timer is going. I would have liked it to do this because my main console is in an area that can't be heard very well throughout the house. A lot of times you can't hear the various system chimes -- which would have been substantially improved if this component did more than simply sound when the system alarm was triggered. :(

Otherwise, it's nice and loud and works well for it's main purpose. Eventually I'm considering getting 2 more: 1 for my garage and 1 for my backyard... to make my alarm REALLY NOISY. Currently, with this speaker and my main unit's speaker, the system is loud enough that anytime you are near them they actually hurt and disorient you). Not bad. :)

We use a lot of Skylink security products on a farm. They work. We count on them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works with SC-001 Control Panel, March 29, 2010

This audio alarm works great as a secondary siren for your Skylink system, but there are a few things to note when using it through the SC-001 control panel:

- The "ARM" light on the audio alarm doesn't go on, even though system is armed.
- The siren on the audio alarm only goes off in one of the "armed" modes. In testing mode MPIN A #, the siren doesn't sound at all.
- The audio alarm doesn't beep when you arm/disarm your system.
- Program the audio alarm to the control panel. Don't program sensors to the audio alarm. This will cause you major headaches.

Also, the antenna that came with mine didn't fit well. It was a tad too long at the bottom, where it plugs into the audio alarm, so I had to cut off a bit so it'd go in all the way.

Overall, this audio alarm serves it's purpose. It's loud and I can arm/disarm it through my control panel.

BTW, I purchased the standalone AA-433, and the sticker on the back of the unit says model AA-433D.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works good, November 22, 2009

I added this to my skylink main alarm panel because I wanted to hide my main panel and if you hide the main panel then it can be hard to hear it so I got this audio alarm for the other part of the house where you would not hear the main panel sounding off. it works nice. I did have a hard time programing it to the main panel because the instructions were a little unclear. also the alarm sound is not as loud as the main panel but all and all its does what I want it to do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works with SC-001 Control Panel, November 3, 2009
This review is from: Skylink AA-433 Audio Alarm (Tools & Hardware)
I purchased the SC-001 control panel and the SC-10 kit together. The SC-10 comes with the AA-433 Audio Alarm, two transmitters, and two door/windows sensors. If you purchase it this way, to work in tandem with the SC-001, you will need to program all the componenents that accompany the SC-10 to 'sync' with the SC-001 control panel. Unfortunately, the instructions aren't too clear about this. If you refere to the PDF instructional sheet on their website, it will explain how to sync the Audio Alarm with the control panel. Besides the hassle with programming, it seems to work fine. 4 stars for quality but not 5 for lack of documentation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skylink AA-433 Audio Alarm, August 19, 2010

This was an addition to my SC-100 alarm system.

I found the location of the SC-100 alarm panel was not loud enough, due to the (secure) remote location.

It setup to the SC-100 exactly as the manual indicated.

It is definitely loud enough to "Wake the Dead"!

Like all of their products it sets up and works great!

I am very pleased to highly recomend their products!

Not as loud as I thought it would be although you would not want to stand in the same room the Audio Alarm is located. Great addition to my Skyline Security System. Easy to install....

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great as a second alarm along with the SC-001, November 25, 2009
This review is from: Skylink AA-433 Audio Alarm (Tools & Hardware)
I bought this to have a secondary alarm in case the main alarm on the SC-001 Control Panel was disabled somehow. It's a very simple unit, and if you pair it to the main Control Panel then the siren will go off when the main Control Panel siren goes off, and deactivates when the main panel is deactivated as well.

In my experience the alarm on this Audio Alarm will sound for a few seconds longer than the main Control Panel once it has been deactivated. I'm guessing this is due to the delay in the wireless signal from the main Control Panel telling the Audio Alarm to turn off. The weakest part of this unit is the plastic cover that is removeable to allow the A/C plug and antenna to be connected to the device. It's pretty weak and I can see it breaking over time, but realistically you should not have to remove the cover very often.

Overall the product works as advertised and I will be purchasing another to mount outside my house so my neighbor can hear the alarm if it goes off as he frequently keeps watch over our house for us.
