Great, except for scratches.
These are well-designed, durable dishes, but the darker colors do tend to show scratches. When stacked, the rough bottom of one plate can scratch the plate beneath it. This is a problem with the newer style Fiesta more than the "vintage" Fiesta which had more glaze on the bottom, and a problem with new dishes more than those which have been through the wash...

I wrecked them 2 weeks in :(
I absolutely love the colors and look of these dishes, and they are very heavy and seem very durable. We registered for cobalt, plum, cinnabar, and periwinkle settings for our wedding and just started using them 2 weeks ago when we returned from our honeymoon. We've been stacking them in the cupboard just like any dishes because they certainly looked like they could...

This is a problem with the newer style Fiesta more than the "vintage" Fiesta which had more glaze on the bottom, and a problem with new dishes more than those which have been through the wash many times. When stacking these dishes in the cupboard, especially when they are brand new, you might want to put coffee filters between the plates to minimize scratching.

I wrecked them 2 weeks in :(, September 3, 2003
I absolutely love the colors and look of these dishes, and they are very heavy and seem very durable. We registered for cobalt, plum, cinnabar, and periwinkle settings for our wedding and just started using them 2 weeks ago when we returned from our honeymoon. We've been stacking them in the cupboard just like any dishes because they certainly looked like they could handle it, but yesterday I noticed that many of them are covered with scratches from being stacked! I can't believe it! They are deep enough that they can't be rubbed away and are really noticeable on my dark dishes. I'm so bummed; I didn't have any idea that stacking them would wreck them (never bothered any of my other dishes), and there weren't any special care instructions that came with the dishes. So while these are fantastic, I would take into consideration that they apparently destroy each other in the cupboard :(

Very durable and kid/family friendly, October 31, 2003
By A Customer
This is in addition to my previous review, which I said I couldn't get enough of this. I still give it 5 stars. Fiestaware is so durable--I swear it is unbreakable. I hope I don't jinx myself. Anyway, my 13-month old got a hold of the placemat and pulled it down, along with the dinner plate. I thought my heart was going to break, but amazingly nothing happened to the fiestaware, not even a nick. And we have porcelain tile floors, where if something drops on it, it's in pieces. This just tells you how durable Fiestaware it, and the whole family can enjoy using it. It is very worth it.

Beautiful and durable....*NOTE ON HEATHER/PLUM COLORS BELOW!*, March 6, 2007
I have owned several Fiestaware place settings since 2001...and I have NEVER even chipped a single piece! And I am tough on things - I have knocked the plates off of countertops and cracked them against the faucet REALLY hard...and they have survived in mint condition. This stuff is unbelievably tough. And the glazes are just gorgeous - you really can't go wrong with any color.
******NOTE ON COLORS:******
"Heather" is actually a LIGHTER purple color than "Plum," which is a very dark eggplant purple. Amazon reverses these two in the pictures for some items.

Worth the Extra $$$, August 24, 2003
I have an extensive Fiesta kitchen and thing that it is definitely worth the 'little extra'. It is nice enough to use for special occasion and durable enough to use everyday. I am really glad that I didn't spend a lot of time with the cheaper dinnerware before I discovered Fiesta. I love how all of my items coordinate with each other and the variety of colors available.I bought this item because some of my stuff was purchased from the clearance rack at a local department store and I needed a few pieces to complete the set. I also liked the idea of having an extra plate on hand for company or as a replacement if one was accidentally broken. You can't go wrong with Fiestaware. This stuff can take daily abuse, but is still pretty enough that your parents will be impressed that you dishes match when they come to visit/inspect your place.

Love the plates but they arrived scratched, January 11, 2006
I'm sticking with the lighter colors due to scratching. My persimmon 16 piece setting arrived with two dinner plates scratched. I think next time I'll order them as individual place settings as they weren't packed well. Amazon will give me a 20% discount for keeping them.

Very nice, durable and attractive, August 19, 2005
I like this place setting color, but I have taken the advice of others and I use coffee filters between pieces for storage. It is a great place setting.

Love this color!!, March 9, 2003
I have about a ton of FIESTA. I purchased this set because it's the "NEW" color.... and I just have to get all the new colors! Everyone especially likes this color in our house.... You'd think its actually "lucky" the way my kids fight over whose turn it is to use it! I think I may have to get another set. :)

A nice sturdy place setting for a busy family, August 3, 2007
My order arrived yesterday, in a timely manner and without incident. The place settings were in perfect condition upon opening the boxes. So far, I have used them twice and hand washed them, since I have not run the dishwasher yet.
Since purple is our favorite color, we are happy with the way that these look. They are plain for some folks and fancy for others. I suppose it depends on your past experience and taste. We are happy with them. It is a wonderful sturdy place setting. There are two pieces that I feel the need to comment on.
First of all, the bowl is larger than it appears. I tried it out, just to see how much it can hold. It easily held a whole standard can of peaches, liquid included. To me that is a huge bowl for a single person. That is more like a small serving bowl. We are used to smaller individual bowls.
Second, I want to let you know about the cup that is included in the place setting. I did not outright measure it. It is, however, about half of the size of a standard sized mug, but slightly larger than a tea cup. Since it has the design of a tea cup, it softens the appearance of the set somewhat. It is a bit more dainty in appearance than a traditional coffee mug. Therefore, it makes the set appear a bit more fancy.

Christmas gift, September 22, 2005
Was very pleased to find this product on amazon.com. I found them on sale at Kohl's and after calling and driving to several stores could not find the colors I wanted. My daughter said to check Amazon and there I found all the colors I wanted and also they were less expensive. Very very pleased.
