This is one COOL Microwave!

Pop out dial malfunctioning
The inverter feature is nice, it allows for actual different power levels instead of the pulsed full power in normal microwaves. And the microwave is still functioning after a year or two (I forget when I bought it exactly) EXCEPT for the pop out dial, which is not registering correctly anymore - very frustrating. I purchased this from a popular bulk / warehouse big box...

This is one COOL Microwave!, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Was looking to replace an old G.E. microwave with something more powerful & modern, this style from Panasonic fit the bill. I love the features this microwave comes with, and it's a very efficent microwave, sleek in look, powerful in it's cooking power, and does the job very nicely.
In my opinion, the folks who engineered this microwave knew just what they were doing, the auto-sensing feature has worked flawlessly everytime I've used it, cooking leftovers perfectly! (not too hot, not too cool) and I love the pop-out adjustable flywheel control.
Dang! this thing is even smart enough (when the clock is set) to tell you to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner (neat little tactile feedback in the display)
If you are looking for a very nice microwave oven which is powerful and has some neat features - and this fits your sizing requirements, I would highly recommend it.

Solid product for the price, April 27, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Sensor reheat on this bad boy rocks! Looks nice, works nice. Pair it up with the Panasonic TK-729SAPH Stainless Steel Trim Kit (27" width) for all 1.6 cuft Panasonic Stainless Steel Microwave models to get the built in look for half the price of a standard built in microwave!

Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6 cubic foot, June 12, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Just recieved our Panasonic microwave oven yesterday. Although the photo looks good, it looks far better in person. Very easy to use, especially with the well-written instructions. The stainless steel exterior matches well with the other stainless appliances we own (it sits right next to our stainless steel ThermalFresh Bunn coffee maker). Ordering through Amazon is always made easy, that's a definate plus!
I recommend this oven highly!

Inverter Microwave, January 6, 2008
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
We love this oven. The sensor cooking and the inverter technology are very useful. We've had Sharp and a couple others (I think GE but I'm not sure). They all worked OK but no sensor cooking and hot spots cooking other than even heat distribution. If this oven lasts for a couple of years, we'll be completly satisfied.

Pop out dial malfunctioning, April 10, 2010
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
The inverter feature is nice, it allows for actual different power levels instead of the pulsed full power in normal microwaves. And the microwave is still functioning after a year or two (I forget when I bought it exactly) EXCEPT for the pop out dial, which is not registering correctly anymore - very frustrating. I purchased this from a popular bulk / warehouse big box store, and I noticed on their website someone else also had the same knob malfunction. I haven't seen any other reviews about malfunctioning dials on amazon though, so maybe they fixed the issue. I would have much preferred just having a keypad from the beginning like normal microwaves.

Low Noise High Power Microwave, November 30, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
My wife and I decided to replace our old Sharp Carousel microwafe oven. The new Panasonic NN-SD767S was shipped quickly by Amazon.com. The instruction manual was easy to read and the different directions easy to follow. After having this microwave oven for a few weeks and tried the various functions I figured it was time to rate this microwave oven. One of the most impressive on the use of this microwave is its low noise compared to our old microwave. Not only during the operation but also the warning tone or beeps when the cooking is complete. This microwave has the high wattage of 1250 watts for fast cooking. Another of the great features is the Sensor Reheat feature and the Sensor Cook feature which is used without setting time. This microwave sensors the steam and therefore determines the cooking time. We find that the food is about right as far as the temperature when the cooking is done. My wife and I are quite impressed with this microwave oven.

Leaks Radiation, December 22, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
So far the re-heat seems to bet getting a bit carried away. I did read the directions, and I hit the more button twice to reheat it less, but it seems to be heating more than I'd like. I do love the pop out dial button like everyone else.
I almost bought the one at Costco that is very close to this- then I noticed it was missing the dial. Too much button pressing to cook something! When I looked the costco model up on the Panasonic's site, it is a "special" crippled model for Costco. I made that mistake once when I bought a $2500 TV from Costco and the optical output didn't work so it's incapable of being used to switch inputs w/ audio going to the amp. (specially made by Sharp for Costco)
====
Updated: The reheat feature overcooks everything and this leaks radiation to the point I cannot use the wifi or wireless phones. Furthermore, they don't answer their customer service mail on their site.

Broken Within Six Months, June 21, 2010
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Unfortunately, although I use my microwave ovens sparingly, this one didn't even last six months without malfunctioning, and now I find that the only place that fixes them is 25 miles away and I will have to lug it there and lug it back and probably pay more than it's worth to have it fixed. I'm actually thinking of going to WalMart and getting a cheapo model instead... I'm very disappointed, as I gave away a perfectly good microwave to a relative and now I'm the one stuck without one and lost a lot of money.

Like it mostly, a pet peeve though.., March 8, 2010
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I've had this microwave for about 2 months now, and in general I like it. It looks nice, was the exact dimensions of the one it replaced, and seems to be a little quiter that the old model whirlpool I had.
Thing I like about it:
The sensor reheat is nice. I generally gets the food hot throughout, and you don't have to keep guessing about how much time to put in to get the food hot. Be careful to use a heat resistant container.
I like (but not love) the setting knob. I guess that it just takes a little getting used to, but I don't really think it's any better or worse that a regular number pad
Thing I don't like about it:
This is my pet peeve. It doesn't do microwave popcorn well. I've tried using the popcorn feature. It pops about half of what it should. I've tried using the timer, and while more will pop that using the popcorn feature, it invariably burns. Yes, I read the instruction book, and yes I'm setting the bag size correctly. I've even tried different brands of popcorn and it makes no difference. Don't know why this is, but it just is not good at popping popcorn.
Hope this helps.
