The best socks for your young one
I love these socks. Yes, they're adorable, but more importantly they stayed on my infant's feet during the winter months. I've since given these socks to all my mom-to-be friends.

Cute, but could be better
These socks are very cute and I was glad to receive a few pairs of the "Rosies" as hand-me-downs. They stay on pretty well too, but are certainly not "kick proof."

Cute, but could be better, August 28, 2007
These socks are very cute and I was glad to receive a few pairs of the "Rosies" as hand-me-downs. They stay on pretty well too, but are certainly not "kick proof."
Overall, however, my opinion of the whole Trumpette "shoe look-alike" line has lessened somewhat the longer I've owned them. First, as a reviewer has already noted, the design on the socks should really be improved so that the "shoe" comes up higher in the back to compensate for the inevitable slipping of the sock. When the sock slips, (and it will slip regardless of how well it fits, but even more so when it is slightly too tight or slightly too large, which is most of the sock's life on the baby!), the design isn't as nice, since it looks like the "shoe" is coming off. I find myself constantly tugging on my daughter's socks to pull up the "shoe" part. Now, the only reason I bother tugging at all with so many better things to do with my time is because these socks are just so darn cute and I love to see that little "shoe" on her. But, really, Trumpette and the companies that make similar socks should take note of this for future models.
The next issue I have is the size. As a few others have pointed out, these socks are most definitely NOT 0-12 months. I would say they would be best advertised as 0-6 months, but they would probably more realistically fit a 2-7 month old. My daughter is somewhat on the small side (25th percentile in height and weight at 3 months, 25th percentile in weight and 50th percentile in height at 6.5 months, if that gives you any indication) and the socks fit her fine at 2 months when we first got them. Now at 7 months, they are pretty tight and the shoe design slips down quite easily. I would say if your baby is 6 months old already or is large, I would skip the 0-12 months size and go straight for the 1-2 year size, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be available in all the styles/colors. I just bought the 1-2 year size and they fit my girl pretty well now at 7 months; they're just a tad too large, but they stay on fine and look fine too.
Another option is to get another brand that makes similar "shoe socks." I personally think Mudpie's versions are even cuter than Trumpette's (added decorations like patterns on the socks and rhinestones on the "shoe") and they run slightly larger than the Trumpette 0-12 months, despite their advertised size of 0-6 months. (They are not as large as the Trumpette 1-2 yrs, though.) I love my daughter's Mudpies and I don't see the brand nearly as often as Trumpettes on other babies' feet. Dolly and Dimples is another brand to try - They are supposedly 0-9 months and have some very cute variations of the "sock shoe." For a cheaper version (and less variety of styles/colors), The Children's Place has a Mary Jane "shoe sock."
The last complaint I have is that Trumpettes don't seem to be available to purchase in quantities less than 6. I would have liked to try a combination of the various styles and colors, buying them singly or in pairs. But, at 24 dollars per pack of six in the stores and online, I won't do it. A few of the other brands let you buy one or three pairs, making them cheaper options if you want to mix and match or really just want one pair.
Trumpettes have a great idea, and they seem quite popular with mothers of daughters in particular, but they could definitely be improved, and they aren't the only ones on the market either.

These should probably come in more sizes, February 14, 2007
These socks are adorable and the quality is excellent. I just wish they were sized 0-6 and then 6-12. The idea that these socks are going to fit a newborn and a one year old is ridiculous. My daughter is six months old and these fit her well now, but they would have fallen off of her before about three months and probably will only fit her for a few more months.
I'd guess these are comparable to a 6-9 month size, so in between a 0-6 and a 6-12.

Great but Expensive, December 21, 2007
It's really expensive for socks but it's really cool! My baby becomes the center of attention anywhere she goes with these socks. People just love them - they get fooled by it and think that my lil girl's wearing shoes. We call them 'shoe-cks' (combi of shoe and socks). I love that it doesn't fall off either - even if my baby tries to pull them off (she's so attracted to these too - with the bright colors). And as one of our friends said, "The attention and discussion about the 'shoe-cks' makes it worth the money!". :)

Adorable but sizing an issue, May 16, 2007
I bought these for my one year old granddaughter because she has very small feet and felt that after reading the reviews and the sizing range, these would still fit her at 12 mos and you could say they did. However, the adorable pattern is lost as they slip a bit down on her ankle and the design is too far under the foot. In this regard, they are too large. And, what I didn't consider is that at this age, she is pulling off her socks. My recommendation to the manufacturer would be to alter the design to allow for more foot area to be covered with this and to shoot for a younger audience.

Unbelievably Cute!, December 30, 2007
These Mary Jane-style socks are SO cute on little feet. We received a set for the holidays, and I am now ordering some as baby gifts. For full effect, I would say they work best on feet that are at least 4 to 6 months old.

Cute socks!, October 11, 2007
I just love these socks. They actually stay on my daughter unlike most other brands. She outgrew the infant size and now at 8 months wears the toddler size. I just bought her size 2 shoes, which are still roomy, so her feet are small... but these toddler socks fit just right.

Perfect shower gift, January 21, 2009
These socks, like adult socks, run small. Most babies can only fit the 0-12 month sizes until they are 5-6 months--this size allows babies to wear them until they are walking. These were a gift purchased when I noticed the mother cramming her DD's poor, chubby feet into the 0-12 month sized Trumpettes I had given her for her baby shower.

Trumpette Mary Jane Pastel Baby Socks, August 23, 2008
I love these socks for their cuteness factor; however they definitely were over priced. I purchased the "0-12 months" size, but they would have been more accurately labeled 4-8 months. I'm sorry to say I have to agree with a common complaint ... the black part of the "shoe heal" needs to be redesigned higher. More than not, the socks would slip off my daughter's heal making the "shoe" part of the sock appear to be falling off (which it probably was). I also was a bit disappointed with the wear factor. After a single washing on the delicate cycle and line drying, the socks appeared a bit "nubby." Additional washing were done by hand, also line drying, but the socks still showed more wear than I wold have liked, especially when one expects better quality due to the higher price. Lastly, my daughter was able to kick these socks off quite easily.
