So far, very pleased
We got this as a present (different color) and my kids love it. My kids are 3 and 2, and they are both taller than the kitchen. This doesn't bother them in the least. I got them some toy food, and the kitchen gets used daily.
Pros and cons:

This kitchen is just ok. In this case you do get what you pay for though I'm not sure the kitchen is worth the $30 it costs. It is made from very thin plastic and takes a LONG time to put together. The size is more appropriate for 12-18 months rather than 3 & up, it is smaller than I expected judging from the picture (learn from me, read the size specs before purchase!) I have short preschoolers who tower over the kitchen. I don't expect this will last more than a month or two in the company of my 3 & 4 yr olds. It does not stand up very well on it's own, very easy for your child to pull it down and end up underneath it, thankfully it's very light. If I had it to do over again I would save the $30 towards the purchase of a better and stronger kitchen. I am seriously considering returning it and using the money for another kitchen.

We got this as a present (different color) and my kids love it. My kids are 3 and 2, and they are both taller than the kitchen. This doesn't bother them in the least. I got them some toy food, and the kitchen gets used daily.
Pros and cons:
Pros-
1. The toy is small- it fits perfectly in my small toy room. Many people complain about the size, but this kitchen is a great choice if you have limited space. Children are usually ok with playing with smaller toys. It's the parents who feel the need to buy big. I hate having my house cluttered with toys, and I like that my kids have enough space to move around the kitchen.
2. It includes utensils and dishes. I bought my kids toy food, but half the time they cook smaller unrelated toys anyway. I have been served fried train many times since we got this toy. Everything other than the food is included.
3. All the utensils and dishes have their own storage space. There is a cute little dishrack, hooks for the frying pans and serving utensils, and a useful cabinet.
Cons-
1. It takes a while to assemble. I enjoy putting things together, but I can see hiring a handyman to deal with it.
2. It's made of thinner plastic than the more expensive models are. But you get what you pay for.
3. It's very light, and the kids tip it over on top of themselves occasionally. It's not dangerous or anything, but the kids get upset.

Really small!, February 25, 2009
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
Well I guess it is my fault I didn't read the specs and just ordered. In these economic hard times I was just thinking that the price was right. I bought this for my daughter who is 3years and 9 months and really tall for her age. When she stands at the kitchen set she towers over so she tends to use one of her chairs and sits at it.. and it's so small she can move it from room to room by herself lol. Rather than return it and have to pay shipping and restocking fees we decdied to just keep it and let her play with it till it falls apart and then get her a better one. She's happy with it for now and that's what counts.

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP, January 4, 2009
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
I actually got this item at another store for only $[...]. I wanted something small and inexpensive. Well it VERY small(too small for a 3 year old) and very poorly made. It took forever to put together. All of the pieces were encased in plastic which you had to pull off, then file down any remaining plastic that remained. If you didn't, you will get sharp plastic hanging from each and every piece. It is almost impossible to make it smooth so every piece, every surface had a small amount of plastic sticking out making it very dangerous to play with. You definately get what you paid for. CHEAP!!!

Better than Expected, December 26, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
The manufacturer makes this same kitchen for another retailer and it comes with a toy shopping cart and play food (the colors are different, but it's the same kitchen-and same price). The fact that I got the kitchen, shopping cart, and food for this price made it seem like a pretty decent deal to me. I was scared about all the negative reviews, but I decided I'd rather buy a cheapie kitchen now and see if my kids like it enough to justify the purchase of something more substantial. And that right there is the big reason I'd recommend it. i.e. if you're not 100% or even 50% sure your kids will play A LOT with a toy kitchen- letting them play on this for a few months would be a great way to find out.
It is smaller than the pricier kitchens, but if you read the dimensions before assembling- well...you'd know that ahead of time.
As for the assebly time, I don't understand the gripes...it's a toy kitchen and it's going to have a ton of pieces. 2 hrs is on par with all the toys kitchens I know of people setting up. Just try building a wooden swingset and you'll suddenly love 2 hr assembly that makes sense.
As for the what you get for the $- I can't fathom why people would expect the size and quality of a $100+ kitchen when spending $25. It makes no sense to have such expectations.
All in all, I think it was worth the $. My 1 yr old and 3 yr old really enjoy it + it doesn't feel so small if you combine it with a cart and a play table.

Kitchen set for little ones, January 6, 2009
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
We ordered this product for our granddaughter in IA. The mom approved it first and then we ordered it. One & all are pleased it with and Kennedy plays with it every day.

It surprised me, December 6, 2008
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
I received this free because someone disgarded it upon opening the box. I imagine the person either was put off by the apparent quality or didn't want to put it together. (There are a lot of pieces.) It took me awhile to get it together, but it wasn't overly difficult. There were a few times I had to study the diagram before proceeding. I'll admit that I thought it looked really cheap before it was assembled, but I was surprised at how sturdy it was once it was put together. I don't have any little ones, so I will donate it to a charity now that it is together. It's a reasonable buy at $30 because it comes complete with plates, cups silverware, and pans.

good for 1 year old, November 8, 2008
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
We purchased this used and it was already put together - so I can't comment on that. My daughter is almost 12 months old and loves it! She puts various toys into the mircrowave and oven and hangs things from different parts of it. We have it strapped to a railing which works well - it wouldn't be able to stand alone (especially since she uses it to pull herself up!). I see that it costs around $30 right now - that's probably about what it's worth. But, for that price, it's a great small kitchen for a little one.

Worth the $30...not $70, October 14, 2008
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
Wow I was going to say this product was worth the $30 (with free shipping) I paid for it. But now I see it's gone up to $65 + shipping charges! I would never pay that much for a toy. It's durable and easy to put together. My twin boys have beat on it for 8 months now and it still looks new. We got it when they were 16 months old and now they are 2. They still love to play with it and pretend to cook meals next to me. We haven't let them play with the utensils since we were afraid they might hurt each other... If you can find it on sale then get it.

Not much for the money, September 3, 2008
This review is from: American Plastic Toy My Very Own Kitchen (Toy)
I was very disappointed. It was in about 50 pieces that had to be cut apart and assembled and it does not stay together. The children broke the microwave top the first day.
I don't usually complain and have been very satisfied with Amazon products in the past.
