4.0 out of 5 stars Great looking and heavy chronograph watch. Diamonds are almost invisible, but still a great value.
I was very happy when I opened the package and saw this watch. The words that come to mind when describing this timepiece are handsome, solid, beautiful. It is a chronograph and therefore it has the size and heft of a chronograph. The ladies model is fairly big when compared to the more delicate jewelery watches available for ladies.

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent timepiece for the price I paid of $179
I received this watch today. I purchased it as a "gold box" buy for $179. Seemed like an excellent buy. But, there are a few "untruths" given as the item description.
* The model number of the watch is actually #4719, not #4718
* The (16 handset, sparkling diamonds) are the most ridiculously small chips I have ever seen, actually they are literally too...

To give you an idea of the size, the dial is about 1.5 inches across (the middle glass section is a tiny bit bigger than a quarter + the bezel). The strap is also wide at little more than half an inch (5/8"). The model number is #4718 which is the stainless steel watch with a mix of stainless brushed and polished finish just like the picture. (The #4719 mentioned by another reviewer is the two tone stainless and gold model.) The case of this watch is thick too, just over 1 cm (7/16") so don't go for this watch if you are looking for a slimmer and lighter watch. In fact, the picture made this watch look more delicate than it is in person.

If I was picking this watch for a man with a slimmer wrist, this would look better than the male version. In fact, this Movado Men's Juro Watch #0605023 has almost the same case diameter as this watch.

This watch feels heavy and solid on the wrist. The band is around 7.5 inches so you'll have to take out a link or two if you have the average wrist size of about 6.5-7 inches. The 16 diamonds on the bezel (2 in each section) look much bigger in the picture than they are in person. They are just as big as a pinprick, almost too tiny to be seen by the naked eye!

However, diamonds or no diamonds, the watch looks expensive and like a quality product. It has a beautiful stainless steel finish and a mother of pearl dial. The hands and number markings glow in the dark. The push button on the 2 sides of the winder help control the chronograph functions. The movement is "Swiss movement" and it is water resistant upto 100m. It comes in the signature bright yellow Invicta fake-leather box (box made in China) with an outer yellow cardboard box with an embossed Invicta logo. Inside the box is a warranty form, an international warranty card, and the manual etc.

Invicta is an older Swiss watch company (est. 1837) with a reputation for making great timepieces, and the quality is apparent in this watch. A watch review site mentioned that if Rolex is the Bugatti of watches, then Invicta is the Camry. I'll take the Camry, given the price and value factor!

Invicta is also offering 1+4 years free platinum warranty as per the current promotion if you buy it from Amazon. (a $35 value)

If you still want to learn more there is an almost identical Bulova Women's Diamond Chronograph Watch #96R19 available that has 70+ reviews, most of them rave about their purchase. It is also the same price as the Invicta. As mentioned above, Invicta is a Swiss based watch company (although they now have an office in Florida) and Bulova is an American watch company started in New York by an immigrant in 1870s.

I love this watch, and can't stop admiring it. It definitely looks more expensive than the price I paid.

I received this watch today. I purchased it as a "gold box" buy for $179. Seemed like an excellent buy. But, there are a few "untruths" given as the item description.
* The model number of the watch is actually #4719, not #4718
* The (16 handset, sparkling diamonds) are the most ridiculously small chips I have ever seen, actually they are literally too small to be seen. The picture shown and description makes you believe that even though small, they would be visible. Not so.
* When you hold the watch to your ear to hear the "tick tick" of the second hand, it skips and is clearly irregular. I haven't had it long enough to tell if it keeps proper time yet.
* The back of the watch case (with the model#) is twisted around. I don't know if that is important, but it seems like for a nicer brand watch it should be put together better.

On the positive side, it is a heavy, significant watch. It is shiny, nice looking and wearable as an everyday watch. It is a bit rugged for evening, but it depends on what you do in your evenings I suppose.

Overall, it is pretty nice... I just expected more and a bit better quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars For $ 149 this is a 5 star watch but..., January 25, 2008

I paid $ 149 for this watch and I received a free gift (Invicta Gear Yellow Backpack). I LIKE THIS WATCH. A lot! What I don't like is the instructions manual. That is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The person that put together the manual did a poor job. You actually need to "play" with the watch in order to see how the watch works. Also, the diamonds are small, but enough for this type of watch. And it can be considered an everyday watch. Plus 4 years extra warranty for $ 25 is perfect. A little bit heavy but it doesn't bother me.

I just got this watch yesterday and it looks great. I took it to the jeweler to have links taken out and while I was there I asked him if he thought it was a good value for what I paid. He showed me a comprable Citizen Chronograph with diamonds, etc. that sold for over $500.00 and I think the Invicta has a much more distictive look. It is a heavy watch and I wouldn't advise ladies with small wrists to buy it. Also, if you have never owned a chronograph, they do have to be set up and they work a little differently than a normal watch and the instrcutions are not much help so be prepared for that! And those that complain about the diamond size, what do you expect for that price?! You aren't going to get huge stones for under $200 on a watch, lets be realistic here. If you want a distinctive, quality watch that is priced well then I would highly recommend purchasing this watch.

I ordered this as a gold box special. For 179.00, I am very pleased with my purchase. The mother of pearl face is far nicer in person, and the picture on the website does not do this watch justice. Yes, as the other reviewers noted, the diamonds are very, very small. However, it is just enough bling to accentuate this piece. The chronograph functions work great, and my jeweler sized the watch for me free of charge and noted this was a great price for this watch. Also, the extended warranty offered to amazon customers, a 35.00 value, gives you a total of a 5 year warranty. Overall, I am very pleased.

I absolutely love this watch!! I got this watch for $149 which included the backpack and extra 4 year warranty - what a great deal! I've had this watch for about 2 months now. I think the watch is absolutely beautiful and isn't too flashy-looking. Also, I don't think it's too big or bulky at all, even on my 6.25" wrist. I'm very pleased with my new watch!!

This is a very beautiful watch. Some people told me it looks manly but I really, really like how it looks on the woman's wrist. In my opinion, diamond accent adds sophistication and makes this watch very feminine.
I purchased this watch in November 2009. I was very satisfied with the purchase of this watch until a few weeks ago 2 things happened. First, one of the hour bars fell apart. Then, a week or so later, watch just stopped working. Maybe it's a battery thing but hey, would you expect something like this to happen within 6 months of purchasing a watch with MSRP of $695..?
So then I decided to go with the warranty. Even though Amazon description tells you to contact the seller of record (Amazon in my case), Amazon doesn't want to deal with it and tells you to contact Invicta. Even though watch comes with 1 yr warranty, Invicta will still charge you $28 for "shipping and handling". I mailed my watch to Invicta and my check cleared the bank today but I still haven't received any updates from Invicta.
I am really surprised that I'm having this kind of issues with a Swiss watch priced at $695. My old Anne Klein watch purchased for $80 survived way more than 6 months before breaking.

Bought this for a Christmas Gift for my cousin. It arrived and looked pretty good. Seemed to be running just fine. HOWEVER the little frame around the "date" window had fallen off the dial face, and was flying around loose under the crystal. Returned it for refund, and am still waiting for the refund. Guess the holiday season is busy enough to slow the refund, as Amazon is usually good about this......

3.0 out of 5 stars I Loved This Watch...Until It Died!, August 8, 2009
By Alexis M. (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Invicta Women's 4718 II Collection Limited Edition Diamond Chronograph Watch (Watch)
I really loved this watch. It was an eye catcher and looked like it cost so much more than I paid ($150). But less than 2 years of owning it, it completely died and needed what the watch repair place told me was a complete "overhaul" which would cost $150. As much as what I paid for it.

Oh well, it was a great watch for 2 years. You win some, you lose some!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and Solid timepiece. But (reason behind the 4 star), May 18, 2009

This review is from: Invicta Women's 4718 II Collection Limited Edition Diamond Chronograph Watch (Watch)
I have been searching for a nice everyday watch at a reasonable price for quite some time. Did a good amount of research on pricing and designs before deciding to buy this particular Invicta watch. Read most of the prior reviews and have the following thoughts:

1. If you are looking for a thin and dainty watch, this is not for you (the dial is 33mm as described). I was looking for a sizable watch that can make a statement so was quite happy when I opened the box - I have very small wrists and probably have to remove 7-8 links, but still liked the look. That said, the pearl dial and other accents makes it quite feminine(contrary to other reviews).

2. If you are looking for a diamond watch that would blind your eyes with sparkle, this is not for you. The "diamonds" on this watch, as expected for any watch that are <$200, are not sizable. The best way to describe them are specks of silver glitter. When I got the watch, I was not surprised by this as this is what I'd expected, the tiny metal studs around it does not make it look cheap (contrary to other reviews), it's a look many fashion watchmakers utilize (e.g. emporio armani) to accent watches.

3. This watch is not Patek Phillipe, and one shouldn't expect this watch to be a Patek quality for this price range. However, it is a solid timepiece with relatively reputable watchmaker. And you can't beat the warranty package. I was looking to spend $600-$800 for a mid-range watch, but decided on a more value based purchased that I hope would last me a couple of years before I can get my Patek.

4. The watch was functioning fine when I received it, I didn't have a chance to play around with it (see below), but will post an update here in 2 - 3 months.

All in all, if you are considering this watch, do your research and figure out what you want first before your order and know that you will not like your order if you are looking for a tiny watch that will blind your eyes with firy diamonds.

I would have given this watch a five star, but had to give a four star as when I received the watch the letter "C" was missing from the phrase "Swiss Chronograph". Now I know I'm not paying full price for this watch, but I also don't want a watch that looks like a really well-made fake either. I was quite bummed as I was looking forward to wearing this. I'll returning it today but will be ordering another one once it's processed. Will keep everyone posted.
