Excellent product and the tilt and pan is so important when your baby moves in her sleep. you dont need to keep running back to the room to fix the camera. however on channel 1 there was a lot of interference with our wifi so we switched the frequency to channel three. there's still a little interference because we have concrete walls and sit two rooms away but overall...

Pretty good but sensitive to interference
I like this camera and use it to watch my baby (dog) at night. It's a good deal, and I would recommend it with these two warnings:

Satisfied, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
Excellent product and the tilt and pan is so important when your baby moves in her sleep. you dont need to keep running back to the room to fix the camera. however on channel 1 there was a lot of interference with our wifi so we switched the frequency to channel three. there's still a little interference because we have concrete walls and sit two rooms away but overall this is an excellent product. It allows you to place rechargeable batteries but does not charge the batteries when plugged in. you'll have to purchase a charger seperately.

Pretty good but sensitive to interference, March 13, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
I like this camera and use it to watch my baby (dog) at night. It's a good deal, and I would recommend it with these two warnings:
If you want to use it for monitoring sound also, you may find the feedback/interference annoying. It emits buzzing and popping sounds that make it hard for me to sleep, so I have to keep the volume all the way down. If I were using it during waking hours, such as doing chores or other stuff around the house I don't think it would bother me. (I do have a lot of wireless traffic in my home - a wifi router (old netgear), cordless phones (newer Dect6), and a windows mobile phone that synchronizes every 10 minutes.)
The range is also not that great. Its limit seems to be about 20 or 30 feet before the pan/tilt begins to get unresponsive and the static starts to get very significant. This is inside the house, so passing through walls and floor.

Works well, but battery hungry, February 5, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
This monitor works well and helps me keep an eye on our 2 year old twins. That is, as long as you use the included AC adapter. It uses 4 AAA batteries when unplugged, and really eats them up in a short time. Also, I returned the first unit I received, because when unplugged, if you left it on for more than a couple of minutes, the back would get very hot. I found that it was the batteries that were getting hot and radiating through the back plate. Then, the screen would suddenly go crazy and it would emit a loud buzzing sound. Now I use the 2nd unit I recieved only when I want to do a quick check of their room. So basically, I have to have a standard sound-based monitor, and if I hear something, I can turn this one on and see what is going on.

Would not recommend!, June 5, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
I am very disappointed in this camera! I was really excited about getting this camera bc of the ability to move it from the remote. My little boy moves all over the bed so I thought this would b a great feature! The hand unit is constantly staticy when it's plugged in, and if u try using it w/o the plug it dies almost immediately! Spend the extra $70 and get a quality camera!

Terrible product...do not buy., May 25, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
Returned item after using for 30 minutes! I originally bought this item because it had all the functions I was looking for. Set-up was easy, and that is about it. The picture quality including the color was horrible. So much static and interference...I could not tolerate. Looking for a digital baby camera now.

EXCELLENT!!, February 3, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
I paid $70 in a open item on Frys, it works perfect. This is a excellent product especially for the tilt capacity, this is great. I have friends who bought expensive models and they where very impressed by the tilt capacity on this one.

Lots of interference & stops working after 1+ hr, November 19, 2009
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
The very first day I installed this camera and used the handheld monitor, it stopped working at a little after one hour while on batteries. I though it was a battery eater but I soon found out that it would do the same with the (included) power adapter.
I have two wireless access points (WiFi AP) at home. Interference was picked up on all three available channels on the monitor, even when I switched my WiFi APs to any of the 11 available channels or any combination. Besides the constant flickering of the screen (due to interference), the audio is useless for the same reasons.
It is possible I received a defective unit, but that would only explain the 1+ hr capability, but the interference I think it wouldn't.

Major Interferance, August 29, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
Tons of interference even when the base is close to the handset. without line-of-sight, don't expect the sound to be usable without annoying clicks and static. motorized pan and tilt is a plus. Payed for expedited shipping, received it in 6 days.

Excellent for pet watching!, July 23, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
I use this to make sure our dog goes out the doggy door in the basement when it's raining instead of on the basement floor. It works well but it does have a line across the screen and always moves to the bottem the whole time you have it on. So the picture isn't as clear but it does the job and that's all I needed. The old one started conking out and I'd have to reset it every few days (turn power off and then on on the camera downstairs - which started really defeating the purpose). The picture was much more clear without interference and I believe the old one was the same name as the new one, Astak (the old camera doesn't have a name on it anywhere). Anyway, I cought her going in the basement (which is, I'm told, what you have to do to be able to change that behavior) and told her to go outside. She did and we've had no more accidents when it's raining. Thanks to Astak.

Good Product, May 19, 2010
This review is from: Astak 2.4 GHz Pan & Tilt Baby Camera with 2.5" LCD Color Handheld Monitor with Night Vision (Baby Product)
This is a good product, but the first one I received had to go back because within 10 minutes the receiver went out on me. I just got my new one yesterday and have played with it on and off since then with no problem. It does EAT the batteries, so it is best to use the included power supply with the receiver.
