Once you figure out effective set up, it's great
I bought the MagneTrainer-HR because I wanted to exercise in my apartment and don't have space for a larger machine. It's relatively easy to set up, although you should forget about the chair tether the company provides; it's useless. Instead, place your chair against a wall, and then put the MagneTrainer on a yoga mat in front of you. This way it won't slip, even when...

Good machine, bad stirrups
The Magnetrainer machine appears well built, has a good range of resistance, & pedals smoothly. But, the space to put your feet into the pedal stirrup must have been designed for children or midgets--way too small for my very normal-sized shoes. So, I spent another $20 for the accessory velcro-closure pedals & replaced (threw away) the original pedals. The new ones are...

This way it won't slip, even when you hike up the resistance. The machine provides a solid workout -- just like a recumbent bike at the gym -- and then stores away easily. I definitely recommend it.

Works well for the weak (me) and the strong (hubby), January 21, 2008
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
I bought this to help maintain some leg flexibility due to health issues.
My hubby, the avid bicycle rider is impressed with it. He uses it on days when he can't go outside for a 40 mile ride. He prefers to use this instead of his full size trainer especially on days he is saving his upper body for weight lifting. Go figure?
We have had lots of exercise and weight lifting equipment over the last 35 years. The thing I always hated most was the constant adjustments I had to make since we were both using the same equipment. I groaned when I found him using this one and just knew it was going to be a problem too. Amazing, it was so simple to adjust back for me. I just pulled it forward 8", turned the knob to weakling level and started pedaling.
We put it in front of the sofa. We have not had a problem with it moving.
This simple device helps me maintain some motion/flexability in my legs, warms my feet, improves my circulation and helps move the water out of my legs. Best of all it is cheaper than PT or a gym and I don't have to get out of my pajamas.

A Smooth and Sturdy Glide. One Hour Passes Without a Thought, December 10, 2007
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
Rides extremely smooth - it glides and is great therapy after a knee arthroscopy, also! Another person commented (also at this web site which sold me on this product)that it worked well if the mini bike is placed against a sturdy wall, or whatever you'd use; I use the bottom stair step. Then place the workout mat under the chair you'll use and that way you won't slip and slide. It's like the real thing. That person was exactly right. Thank you so much.

A Great Mini Bike!, September 29, 2008
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
This bike is great! I've read all of the reviews on the various mini bikes available. The reviews for the MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike convinced me that this was the bike to purchase. I have knee and hip problems and the full size bikes would cause me difficulties getting on and off. With this bike I can slide a stool up to the bike at the distance that is most comfortable for me.
I'm in a wheelchair but with some mobility. I'm able to roll up to the stool and get on and have a work-out. The bike is quiet and the resistance is very easy to adjust. I wear rubber soled shoes and I'm able to use the foot pedals with out using the strap.
Some reviews mention that the bike will slide around on the floor. I put the bike on a rubber shower mat and then against a wall. This worked great.
I ordered the bike on a Monday and it was delivered to my door on Wednesday. The bike was easy to unpack. It only took about ten minutes to assemble, the instructions were very clear. There were only about five things to install on the bike.
It is great quality for the price. I would definitely recommend this bike to a friend.

Great product!, February 24, 2008
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this equipment to exercise at work. I am satisfied with it, so far it has performed as promised. It is a bit tall so some people without adjustable desks would not be able to use the machine so watch for this if yours isn't. The bike is heavy and sturdy as I like it, and the instructions and assembly were easy to read and understand. It has adjustable resistance levels, which I like and I have not been able to use all of them yet, so it allows for room to grow. As far as the shipping it was prompt and as promised. I am very happy with this product and I would recommended it to anyone who's looking for this type of equipment. I only gave it 4 stars because if I had not had an adjustable desk at work I would've had to return it, otherwise is a 5-star.

fabulous, June 27, 2008
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
I can use this sitting on my couch or comfy living room chair if I put a small throw pillow behind me. I use it most nights while watching tv for about an hour. It's so small and quiet.

Good machine, bad stirrups, June 2, 2009
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
The new ones are still very small; the velcro closure barely meets on top of my shoes. Now we're trying to improvise some way of holding my feet onto the pedals; I'm using the machine from my wheelchair & don't have full control over my feet, so it's pretty challenging. I don't understand why the manufacturer skimped on this--what could another two inches of velcro strap length on each pedal have cost? And, why aren't the velcro pedals standard?

Best Little Workout Ever!, April 16, 2009
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
I put this product in front of my recliner and workout after dinner while watching TV to help burn off the last meal of the day. I don't have to use the straps and the bike does on move forward on wall to wall carpet. The resistance does allow me to work up a sweat, and the monitor allows me to see those calories disappearing. The unit was easy to put together and has a handle grip to make moving it out of the way when not in use. This was the best money I have ever spent on exercise equipment.

Product is good but seller is EXCEPTIONAL...A+++, December 9, 2009
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
I bought this item to assist with my mom's therapy sessions. Product seems good considering the price but after using it, we realized that there were a couple of short comings; First of all, the Base isnt wide enough to support it when it's in use,Therefore it would need to have a better platform to keep it steady and stable when in use. Secondly, the unit has a tendancy of sliding away from the user making it very awkward and uncomfortable to use.My suggestion towards the inadequacies of this unit are: Unit need to be Improve by installing a better gripping system under the base...Add an anti slide or a grip mat as part of the unit package to accommodate for those known issues. Also the pedals seemed to be a bit fragile because I had an issue when mounting or assembling the unit. My experience with the broken pedal could have been an isolated situation but I thought it would be important to mention every thing I notice about the unit...whether it good, bad or indifferent.
Unit should be contructed into a more rugged design as the mechanism is base on moving parts and also taking into consideration that it's being use under intense pressure due to brisk movement...However,the most amazing factor of my experience purchasing this unit is the SELLER. The seller ensures that the customer is satisfied at any cost. Seller was very proactive in resolving my issue as quickly as possible. Shipping on both the unit and replacement part were extremely fast. Seller responded very quickly to all queries submitted as it pertains to the item purchased. Very friendly and courteous customer service. Other sellers out there should take note from this seller on how to run effective business. Seller has excellent business ethics with customers satisfaction a priority. Great job...Keep it up!

Pricey but well made, September 16, 2008
This review is from: MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike - Large Pedals with Velcro Straps (Health and Beauty)
I debated buying this because it is a bit expensive but now I'm glad I did. Magnetic resistance makes all the difference. I had a similar pedal set before but with a friction drag flywheel. It was noisy with choppy jerky motion and I wore it out in about a year. This one is smooth as silk and dead quiet- no gear grinding or whirring sounds. Very nice. Seems very well made and sturdy so hopefully it will last a good while.
