Skype phone is the best!
I was so excited to receive this Skype phone... I received it from this seller in about three days (incredible service!) When I connected it up to my computer, I discovered that Skype is not compatible with Vista. I found a download site that allows one to get the free drivers for Skypemate for Vista. After downloading it, my problems weren't over, I had to dis-enable...
Hard to charge, Doesn't charge unless skype mate is open
The quality is okay. I'm not sure about the range of the product. My major complaint is that the phone's charging station is a bit awkward. The phone does not sit exactly right in order to charge. I had to tilt the charging station a bit in order for the handset to sit properly in order to charge. A minor complaint is that you cannot adjust the volume from the handset...

I was so excited to receive this Skype phone... I received it from this seller in about three days (incredible service!) When I connected it up to my computer, I discovered that Skype is not compatible with Vista. I found a download site that allows one to get the free drivers for Skypemate for Vista. After downloading it, my problems weren't over, I had to dis-enable the automatic script prevention program for Vista for both Skype and Skypemate. After that the phone worked! Except, thre final touch was when I tried to listen to music, it came out of my Skype phone instead of my Logitech speakers. I clicked on Sound and set the Logitech as the default instead of Skype and Voila! The phone works wonderful. I have never had a phone that I've been so excited about! I'm telling all my friends and now they want one! I subscribed for unlimited phone service for US and Canada for $30 per year and bought a personal phone number so people could call me... all for $60 per year of $5.00 per month. Why didn't I do this years ago?? I love this phone! The Skype software is free... why are we paying the telephone company for a sparse 350 minutes per month? Get this phone and service NOW!

I use a Skype call-in number for my home business number. I was using a wired USB phone to answer business calls. The quality was okay, but I hate being tethered to a computer. This little phone is great. I can walk and talk, for one thing. As far as quality goes, none of the people who talk to me on my business line know that I am using VOIP. Skype and a phone like this are great for a home business.

Just got this phone & so far it's everything I hoped for !
I was worried since I have Vista....thought I'd have to download an update for it.
But I didn't! Just plugged it in, charged it & followed the instructions & started calling.
I'm not set up to receive calls so I don't know how that is yet.
Now that I know it really works I'll be doing that soon. So far I'm very happy using it to call
landlines & cells.
Update.... My handset battery quit charging.. I emailed everythinginflags & they're sending me a new battery today! So as of right now I'm still rating it 5 Stars... I Love the Phone !!!!Skype Cordless Phone with USB Connection

You need to go to the computer and use the accompanying software to adjust the volume. Also, it doesn't charge if skypemate is not open so if you are logged out for example, the battery is not charging. There is no off-switch either so if you are away from your computer or just logged out, not only it is not charging, it is also using up battery power!!! I'm waiting for a better product. This one does the job OKAY but not quite well enough.

Really like this phone and was surprised how great this phone for the price. We hated using skype on the computer b/c of the delay issues and could not fix it. We got this phone and it has been a god-send. Audio quality is fantastic and now we are not tethered to our computer to use skype. We added this phone along with program/driver to my wife's VISTA laptop without any issues. We can now contact all of our friends in Japan, Korea, Germany, and the US with ease. Thanks to Amazon for allowing this phone to ship to APO!

Thinkg about buying this handset. I love skype but I can't stand having to be tethered to the computer in order to make a call...Here is my question:

I got this phone for Christmas last year and it is horrible! Spend an extra 20 bucks and get a different phone!!
The quality ranges from mediocre to horrific. It pretty much requires a full charge in order to not "drop" your call.
There is a lot of hissing/crackling in the background. I usually have to adjust all the volume settings to carry on a decent conversation - if I have any hope of carrying on a long conversation I end up hanging up and calling back using my computer's regular speakers. The only real benefit is that the volume is so bad you don't have to listen to the music played by various companies when put on hold.
