5.0 out of 5 stars Best Imaginext So Far!
My little three-year-old loves playing with his toy animals. So, it was a pretty good bet he was going to love the Imaginext Jungle. WOW, did he ever?

This is a really cool toy! It has a ton of interactive fun, with hidden doors, slithering snakes, dangling spider, a trap door, lights and sounds, bats that shoot out of the cave, and some other fun animals...

The kids love the imaginext castles and this one was a hit in the beginning but didnt last very long! Still fun, just the other ones had their attention longer.

My little three-year-old loves playing with his toy animals. So, it was a pretty good bet he was going to love the Imaginext Jungle. WOW, did he ever?

This is a really cool toy! It has a ton of interactive fun, with hidden doors, slithering snakes, dangling spider, a trap door, lights and sounds, bats that shoot out of the cave, and some other fun animals are included.

We also have the Imaginext Castle (the previous favorite) and the original (toddler) Imaginext Pirate Ship. The jungle is similar to the castle in terms of portability, but it takes the fun of the castle up a notch. It unfolds to a larger size and in general just has more imaginative play possibilities.

Both the castle and the jungle also have the great benefit of being "double-sided toys". We have learned to appreciate the benefit of double-sided toys like these.

The toy can keep both our 3-yr-old and our 18-month-old occupied, playing together, but separated with the toy acting as a bit of a barrier to the inevitable "learning how to share" issues.

As with all toys, the greatest frustration is for the parents, because the packaging was a challenge to undo (especially with a 3-yr-old who can't wait to start playing). I can't say I blame Fisher Price for the packaging, since they have made it so the kids and parents can try most of the toy right on the shelf. Just a fair warning that you may want to "unbox" this one and wrap it up without the box to avoid the frustration in front of an anxious birthday boy.

Unfortunately, it appears the Jungle is getting harder to find. We got ours through an Amazon Marketplace vendor, but have noticed that the Amazon listed price has gone up.

If I had one gripe about the whole jungle collection, I would like to see Fisher Price remove the animal "caging" and "capturing" aspects of the collection. (disclosure: I can't believe I am playing into the political correctness created by some organizations I loathe) But, in a world that is clearly trying to "preserve" species and become more eco-conscious, perhaps we could introduce imaginative play of "animal safari adventure" without the hunting/caging aspects. No cages come with the Jungle toy, those are part of 'other' smaller sets of animals to complement the Jungle.

But, it is worth noting that the 'Jungle character' that operates the various Jungle doors, traps, etc. is the one 'human character' included in the set rather than an animal. It would have been nice to have seen a jungle creature with the ability to turn the 'foothold' operating keys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun!, January 8, 2008

My 4 year old daughter received this as a Christmas gift this year and she really loves it. Its larger in size than I expected (I think that is why it has a high price tag). I posted a picture of my 4 year old sitting next to it so you can get an idea of how big it is. Although it is big, its folds up for easier storage.

She has a lot of fun with it. Its the same concept as a doll house, but its a nifty jungle. Do be warned, there are a few small pieces like the pastic snakes that could cause a choking hazard for younger siblings.

My son got this last year for Christmas at age two and a half. EVERYONE loves to play with this toy. The youngest to the oldest (I have a now 3 year old boy, 4 year old boy and 6 year old girl). It is such a fun, durable toy. We've purchased many of the accesories to go along with it and they are all well made and fun to play with. I recommend the whole Imaginext line. Well worth the money.

My son received this toy as a Christmas gift when he was two. I thought it looked like fun and it was a really unique toy. (We have since purchased additional Imaginext playsets.) He has spent many hours playing with it. I've had to help him with the "imagination" part of it. He is just starting to understand what pretend/fantasy/make-believe means. He loves to make the bat discs fly out of the gorilla's mouth, send the snakes twirling down the vines, and retract the spider. There are a couple of "hidden" doorways that he likes to open and close too. It also comes with a hippo and a jaguar, which we have them chase the jungle man. It is a nice, durable toy.

I don't understand why in the world this is listed as 65.00 here when you can go to the local toystore and purchase it for 39.99. We were just at toys R us today and saw it there for that price. Just a heads up!

This was bought for my three year-old's birthday, and is by far one of his favorite toys. I really like the Imaginext series overall, but this one has a lot for kids to like. Secret passages, shooting rocks, animals, lights and sounds. It really does have a lot to keep interest, and a lot of things to interact with. It really isn't educational, but it is a good toy that is interactive and does keep their interest in animals. It can be noisy, and there is no volume control. Otherwise, minor gripe. Fun!

Gave this to my 4 year old grandson for Christmas and he has played with it for hours. The other grandchildren joined in the fun - especially my 3 year old grandson and 7 year old granddaughter. May get it for my 3 year old grandson for his birthday next month.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy!, August 7, 2009

This review is from: Fisher Price: Imaginext™ Gorilla Mountain (Toy)
I got this for my 3 year old son for Christmas last year. He loves it! He enjoys making the gorilla open it's mouth and shoot "bats". To date he has an Imaginext Castle, Bat Cave and Jungle which he puts in a big circle to play with. He is getting the Dragon fortress nad Pirate Ship for his birthday in 2 weeks. Imaginext toys are extremely durable and always a favorite with my son. On a side note, you may want to hide the Bat coins if you have small children. I've found them in my 2 year olds mouth before and have had to shelf them when she is around. Could be quite a choking hazard (which is marked on the box).
