Great for Preemie
We love this car seat. Our baby was 4.5 lbs when she left the hospital and this seat worked perfectly. We passed the heart rate and breathing tests with flying colors. We later added a JJ Cole infant support system, but took it out when she reached 8 lbs. She is 4 months now and loves to sleep in this. My friends say it's because the fabric on this particular model is...

Like Canadian elections - Choosing from the mediocre, September 22, 2008
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
I am a first time father. Having spent many hours looking in stores and reading reviews on infant car seats, my wife and I chose this one. Here is why:
Pros - it's light, the base attachment is similar to most others
- it fits into shopping carts; the Graco swing and the Graco strollers
- it has a Winnie the Pooh cover, it also cost only $80 (or $140 in Canada)
- it has the same safety rating as all the rest etc.
- the seat can used in another car without the base and attaches nicely
Cons
- The seat belt safety clip is stored under the babies right thigh. (yes, we couldn't believe it either, so we bought some high impact foam to fix it so it was more even and soft)
- The straps tightens from the rear of the seat
- The chest harness is hard to open for a mans fingers because they are to small and for a woman's fingers because it is stiff
- The plastic shell is bulky and a little cheap feeling
- The handle is not well designed like that of the Baby Trend or Evenflo
My wife and I wondered why some many of the seats looked and felt so similar and seems to have many of the same problems. Interestingly we noticed that even though there appear to be many different brands to choose from, there are in fact only two or three different manufacturing parent companies and the brands are kept to create the impression that a healthly competitive market exist. If you take the cover off most seats and infant seats you will find most of the same plastic shells. For example Eddie Bauer, Maxi-Cosi, Quinny, Cosco, and Safety 1st are all produced by the Dorel Juvenile Group.
- The comfiest seat we found was the Chicco (and they have one that goes up to 30lbs like the Graco SafeSeat only have the weight), but it doesn't fit into a shopping cart or the Graco swing we liked. Chicco's strollers feel very solid too. Much more than Graco, Eveflo, etc.
- The easiest one to carry was the Baby Trend triangular handle, but it did not fit into things too well either and it was a little heavier.
- The more expensive brands like Peg Perego etc. have nice features but are similar to the Chicco and Baby Trend quality so the price is not justifiable.
- Evenflo has a great handle designed but their seats and strollers seem rather flimsy
I hope this helps. God bless. Paul and Flavia Beriault, Toronto, Canada

Love the Graco Giselle!!, September 18, 2009
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
We are having twins and we LOVE this car seat!! It looks even nicer in person!! It is better than I expected and the price is fantastic. The pink is VERY soft--like microfiber. The black isn't solid black either. Hard to explain, but the material just looks and feels better in person. This model is an upgrade from some of the other Graco car seats, because it actually has padding in the seat cover (noticed that none of the ones at target have this-they are very cheap feeling and have no padding) and it has the adjustable harness from the front of the car seat. For $10 more than the cheaper models, is well worth it! Also, everything about the car seat is easy! We are very pleased!

Sturdy and Stylish, but handle is tough to move around, May 5, 2009
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
Sturdy seat. The handle is a bit odd...its hard to push in the red levers and you can hear springs and such inside when you move it up or down. Honestly, I probably wouldn't buy it again simply because of that. Other than that, the seatbelt buckles work well, the front adjusting seatbelt feature is GREAT (whatever seat you buy, its definitely worth the upgrade)and its very easy to get it in and out of the car base. I also love the new shade hoods on the Graco seats, they stay up much better and cover much more area when unfolded all the way. The colors of this seat are "cute" but the fabric is sort of rough, like a waterproof-feeling nylon material. But I was purchasing a better carseat cover anyway, so I didn't really care.

Great Seat, December 4, 2008
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
I have purchased my share of car seats for my older child. He had this seat in another color when he was a baby. This is a very attractive seat made with soft, comfortable materials. It is relatively easy to use and price is decent also.

washes very nicely, June 21, 2010
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
first of all this car seat looks very good in person. the material is very nice. i hesitated to buy this because of the light pink color. i figured it would get dirty quickly and stain. I've washed this think 3 times since november and it washes very well. looks good as new every time. and trust me, my husband is not the type to avoid bumping into things to keep it clean. i'm very glad i bought it!

Graco Giselle is the greatest!, December 8, 2009
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
Great functional and cute car seat! Almost too many compliments! Super easy to adjust straps. Canopy has proven indispensable against sun, headlights and other bright lights, wind, light rain, etc.
Baby hated being in the car seat awake for any length of time at first. Baby got used to being in the car seat within a few weeks or so as long as there were toys to play with. From the start, baby often drifted off to sleep pretty fast once car was in motion. Around four months, baby no longer minded longer trips as long as periodically removed and cuddled when awake during long stops. After five months baby mostly slept in the car seat if not playing with toys and pretty much only got cranky when hungry.

Prettiest Graco Infant Car Seat for Girls, November 12, 2009
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat - Giselle (Baby Product)
After buying two of these for our twins, I love this car seat. I spent hours and days looking for a GRACO Infant car seat that was NOT chocolate brown and green or chocolate and red etc. We do NOT all love chocolate! After ordering the Graco Zurich pattern, I found this one! I promptly returned the Zurich Pattern... which my husband and I both hated!!! It was the only patter that we could deal with for the Graco Quattro Tour Stroller. Since then we have returned that as well and decided to go with a better stroller. I needed the black and pink car seat to go with our new BLACK/BLACK twin stroller! I love it. The pink is so girly and plush, yet the black and charcoal gray is so strong. I was also excited to know that the straps/buckles on this car seat were black and not the usual gray. Gray tends to get dirty extremely quick and show all kinds of stains. You can wash the padding... but NOT the straps! Amazingly this carseat weighs only 7.5 pounds empty as opposed to the Graco 32. That thing was so heavy. It was 15 pounds empty! OMG! Who could imagine putting a child in that and carrying that around. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to all who are looking for something very feminine! The only thing that I do NOT like about this product is that it does NOT come with an infant Boot! If only I could get one of those in Black!!!
