In short ... WOW. These surround speakers are reproducing everything from the softest whisper to the loudest explosion with great detail. Cymbals and horns are crisp, full and well defined in music passages. Frequency responce is extremely accurate as measured with a full spectrum real time SPL anaylzer. Spacial acuity is fantastic and very affective during action or SciFi movies. These speakers are a MUST HAVE if you're using the Klipsch Sub 12. This Thunder Box easily shakes the whole house and is beyond a doubt overkill. (The Sub 10 would have been more than adequate but I just had to have the 12. It's a guy thing) The Quintet SL's keep up with it very nicely to make a well balanced system.
Movies take on a new dimension when you hear the gun shot by the big screen then you hear the bullet whiz by your ear and ricochet off of the wall near your head. My wife hides behind her couch pillow during movies and the dog gets up and leaves the room. When it rains on TV you can almost smell it.
HOWEVER, These speakers are not a one trick pony. Music is served very well. Some surround speakers suffer when music is applied while these excel. From the softest flute, voice or violin to the loudest crash bang Rock, every note is there in detail.
When you handle these speakers you can FEEL the quality. I don't mean weight. They are an average weight for their size. I mean every aspect of a quality built item. AND ... They LOOK just as good as they sound in the room.
I would also like to address their limitations. As soon as I find some I'll get back with you. Don't "spend" money on brand X systems ... "Invest" in Klipsch. I did and I don't regret it.

Well OK, so you are reading this anyhow. This speaker package is simply amazing. I "downgraded" from full size (and space taking) Infinity Betas, to these wonderful noisemakers, and I am glad I did. If you want large room sound in a small space, these will more than do the trick. I paired mine with a Yamaha 10" sub, running through a Sony STR-800 (7.1). They really brought out Sony's Dynamic Sound Stage Technology(the main reason I bought this particular reciever). Watch Heat during the bank robbery, and you can hear the shells falling around you. If you are an audiophile and actually own a super audio CD format player (guilty), these speakers will make you feel like you are sitting with the band. They do not have a "tin" sound like most small speakers, and they do not need a very robust sub to cover lower end frequencies. I was very pleasantly suprised, because I thought I was downgrading, but apparently, someone forgot to tell Klipsch that small speakers are suppose to sound small too. A very key thing to remember though, IMAGING! If you set these speakers correctly, they will overwhelm you with quality you come to expect from Klipsch.

I first saw these speakers at Best Buy when I was searching for my home theater equipment, the demo they had there blew me away.
Naturally though the price on Amazon was cheaper than BB so I purchased them here.
The price is towards the high side for smaller Home Theater speakers but the quality of the product is worth it. Audio is very clear and I personally found they sound better with the grilles removed. Attaching the rear speakers to a wall is very easy with these (not sure about how well the front speakers would attach as I instead have my fronts on stands)
I recommend these speakers for room sizes over 15x15 foot preferably larger since they deliver lots of power. Also I recommend the Klipsch Sub-12 subwoofer to complete the package.

I was replacing an old Audio/ Video unit that was about 15 years old. My system was going to comprise of mostly top-of-the-line TV and components, but I wanted to find great deals.
This review pertains to the replacement of my old BOSE 5.1 Surround system. The speakers I decided upon are the Klipsch Quintet SL Home Theater System.
I want to tell you, I thought my BOSE system sounded good. This Klispch system blows everything I've ever owned away. Regardless of the volume level (low or cranking), this system sounds great. There is "No" distortion... ever! Period! The sound is crisp and clear. Although I did add a Sub-Woofer to this system, the speakers themselves sound great and offer really good lows.
I like the fact that they come with either stands to set them on a shelf or cabinet and they come with the necessary hardware to hang them on the wall. I chose to hang the two front speakers on the wall about three inches from the sides of my new 52" LCD television and then I place the center speaker on the shelf just below my LCD. The rear surround speakers are also attached to the wall about 10 feet apart and eight feet above the floor behind my sofa with the wires running through the walls being brought down from the ceiling.
Pushing these speakers is a Denon AVR-988 and a Polk Audio DSW microPro 1000 Sub Woofer.
The quality of the cabinets these speakers come with are unsurpassed. Great quality. Ordered from Amazon for a great price and received them in just two days.

I looked and listened to the Bose systems, even the pricey one around $1800. They sounded great at the stores. Then I did some research online and discovered what a bunch of hype Bose is. The tech specs on them as well as the poor material quality convinced me to keep looking. They also designed a perfect demo disc and placement for us to demo them. That is understandable but it masks their weakspots and also is not representative of how they will perform in your home.
My installation tech suggested the Klipsch because I kept saying I wanted clean crisp sound with excellent imaging. I was familiar with the name and even have a pair of bookshelf Heresy by Klipsch that I've enjoyed for years. I started looking at the entry level and then decided to go with the quintets to get the larger fronts. I'm not that into big pounding bass in music but do want it in movies. We got a Polk 10" sub and I have it set at about 3.
This system is AWESOME. It is very clean, crisp and full. It is the type of sound that you can crank up very loud and it just keeps sounding better. Then you realize that your neighbors are coming out of their homes to investigate.
Very Pleased

I bought this package a few months back to go with my HDTV along with the Pioneer receiver and it is a match made in heaven! (I now have a new reciever in mind I want to purchase for this lovely system). I also have the Klipsch 12" sub to round out this package. The sound it reproduces is very crisp and clear. It almost feels like you're in the movie. I now hear sounds that I didn't hear before in movies & games. These speakers have transformed our movie watching experience. I would reccomend the Klipsch speakers to anyone.

Klipsch makes greak speakers and these are phenomenal for the price. The sound is crisp and clear and when paired with the Klipsch synergy 10 sub it rocks the house. I would recommend these to anyone who needs all the power and sound in a smaller speaker set.

I paired this system with a 650-watt Klipsch SUB-12 and could not be happier. Everyone that has heard my setup has been floored by it. I purchased these at discount on Black Friday for $599 and couldn't have found a better system for the price.

****** Like he said...don't read, just buy!******
I purchased the Quintet SL system about 3 weeks ago and I can't stop listening to it. Amazing sound, very clear and powerful. I have not added a subwoofer to it yet but as of now I can live without it since these speakers hit both highs and lows very well without a sub. Midrange is excellent too. Dialogue is very easy to understand and hear. Now I have heard many home theater systems before, BOSE, Polk, Sony to name a few....all had their pros and cons. If it wasn't too expensive you weren't getting quality sound. If you wanted the best sound, you paid out of your butt. I decided on Klipsch becaue I have heard them before, which sounded amazing, and the price on these was a no-brainer. This was my first home theater "project." I used 14g speaker wire and mounting these on the wall was extremely easy...very simple to set up. I paired these speakers up with the new Denon 1610 receiver and I'm very happy with the sound, no matter if its listening to music, comcast, XBOX, DVDs or the Wii, its perfect. With that said and keeping in mind that this was an amatuer installation, this system sounds just as good, if not better than my friend's who wasted nearly[..]on his basement theater system (BOSE system) that was professionally installed. If you are somewhat handy and have some general knowledge on A/V equipment you can do this yourself and save a ton of cash....this is the perfect surround system for you. The room dimensions I have this in are about 20 feet by 15 feet. I wasn't sure if installing this in a larger room would make a difference, but after doing some research and reading the other reviews it would make sense for much, much larger rooms...for example a member posted a 2-star review who said his room was "1000 square feet and 12 foot ceilings"....idiot, no S%*T it sounded different, common sense would explain that one. Whether you're the average joe with an average sized home and don't want to spend thousands on a custom system, or if you're making major coin per year and want a great quality product, Klipsch is the way to go. They are compatible with nearly everything, unlike BOSE, and sound so much better too. With all the respect I have for the quality BOSE products have, I put Klipsch above them all. Plus the[..]I spent on these was worth every penny and more. Like he said...don't read just buy. I second that.

The SL's when matched up with a quality sub and receiver sound absolutely fantastic as a surround sound speaker setup. I originally was considering the quintet III's but for slightly more you can get the sl's which come with an extra woofer and ported enclosures for the front LRC speakers. While watching movies I hear sounds that I never heard before and sometimes will hear things that I think are coming from another room or outside. The sound reproduction is incredibly realistic. They do lack on bass so that's where the subwoofer kicks in (I would consider a subwoofer mandatory for any system that didn't have large floor standing speakers).
Placement of the speakers is critical in fully realizing the sound of these speakers. Do not place the left and right speakers too close to the sides of the monitor. After some experimentation I settled at a distance of approximately 16ft from left speaker to right speaker with a 52 inch monitor and the sound is just incredible. From the sofa that puts them at about a 35 degree angle from the viewing position. Rear speaker also same deal as far as distance apart. Acoustics vary from room to room so before mounting them try them at a few different distances while watching a good disc. The distance I used for mine seem optimal for the room size and ceiling hight that I have.
As for music they sound fine but definitely not going to blow you away. As one of the reps at Klipch told me when I had some questions on these speaker "if you want to listen to music like you are at a rock concert then buy speakers that look like they should be at one". If music is more important and you have the space then a floorstanding speaker like the Klipch RF82 would be my choice and then piece together the center and rears.
For home theater watching sports or blurays the SL's provide great sound without taking up a lot of space. I give 5 stars for HT use. I had a bose system prior to this and these are much better souning. The SL's do not disappoint.
