Maybe I got a bad one!
I would rate this product higher except I have had two problems. First one was the light on the top kept flashing indicating a new message, yet there were no new messages, the second one, I was trying to answer the phone and the handset gave a message could not connect to the base, I was standing less than 2 feet from the base when I picked the phone up from the table. I was searching for a new Panasonic phone for months. This phone has great features that I was looking for. I have read many reviews about different phones and thought I would point out all the positive things for anyone else who was having a difficult time choosing a phone. I've had Panasonic in the past and was really happy with the quality of it. I did try a cheap Uniden phone but ended up returning it. This Panasonic phone has a backlit key pad and is great for using in a dark room. The Call Block feature is awesome! When telemarketers call your phone, you can enter that number into your Call Block list and the call will not come through next time they call. The phone will ring once and then it recognizes that number from your list and gives the caller a busy signal. This is nice so you don't go running for the phone. Another great feature is the shared phonebook. All numbers entered in one phone, automatically updates the other phone as they are entered. Also, the numbers are displayed the way you enter them. So if you enter someones cell number into your phone book, their name and number will come up on the caller ID exactly how you entered it when they call. This also works while you are on a call, the screen lights up and tells you who is ringing through on the other line. The talking caller ID is nice, that way if you are not by your phone you can hear the machine or the handset tell you who is calling. Listening to messages...you can do it right from your handset if you are not next to the machine. You can delete and skip messages right from the handset. Overall, this phone had all the features I was looking for. My only complaint would be that I would like the handset to stay lit a little longer. Also the machine does not show you how many messages you have or if you have any old messages stored on there, you just have to listen to find out. Those two things aside, I feel this is a great phone and I am very happy with the quality...especially at the price.

The bottom line is, this phone is great. The sound quality is the best I've ever heard on a phone, and the best feature of all is the talking caller ID! It is beyond me why this feature isn't the "next big thing" in phones! It is so nice to be able to hear who is calling without having to stop what you're doing to go look at the CID first! It seems almost like an "exotic/obscure" feature, but if I made phones I'd put it on all models and really market it. Even better, is the ability to block callers. This works for everything but "Out of Area" which doesn't have a phone # associated with it, so it can't block it. It still rings once, but that's it. After 1 ring it gets the CID info and stops ringing. So my house is much more peaceful now. And I love that its fequency doesn't interfere with other devices in my house.
I'd highly recommend this phone. The only gripe I have is the kind of flat handset, but EVERY cordless phone is shaped like that now. I miss the handsets that actually had a little bump for your ear to rest on, so you didn't have to mash the entire phone against your greasy face when talking. I have no clue why companies stopped making cordless phones in this shape. It was the dominant shape for like 50 years, and now it's gone.... *sniff*

These are really nice phones, I bought the KXT64322B (5.8 GHZ) as a gift and was so impressed I upgraded to the KX-T69332T (Dect 6.0) for myself. Here's a list some features that I really like on the phones...
Metallic Black finish, Nice styling.
Nice bright white backilit LCD displays on each handset. Tells you if there any answering machine messages or if the line is busy. If there are messages the charging light on phone blinks too.
It has the standard any button answer when off the chargers ( 0-9 and # * )
You can set it to the Auto Talk option, Where you answer the phone by lifting it off the base and hang up by placing it back.
Both phones have hands free speakerphones built into the handsets and theres also one on the main base.
Both phones can share the line at the same time for 3 way conversations.
You can use the phones as "Walkie Talkies" either holding them as a regular handset or hands free thru the speakerphones. I use this feature a lot!
Uses 2 widely available AAA NIMH batteries per phone. I believe the batteries were precharged. I put some spares in the phone and charged up the supplied batteries and they were ready in a few minutes. (It seems if you charge the batteries outside the phones, It wont register as fully charged until a few hours later)
Light Up Keypads. Interesting ringtones.
Battery level and Time/Date indicator on each phone.
Clear reception, Excellent voice quality, good range. They have an automatic "Boost" feature which boosts reception when it gets weak due to wandering out of range or if there's interference.
Programing one phone automatically communicates and loads data to second phone. If you change the batteries on one phone just put it back on the charger and it will reset time, phone numbers... using the other phones info.
You can check the answering machine messages remotely or from any handset.
Each phone has a headphone jack. Comes with optional belt clips.
(I don't subscribe to Caller ID so I can't use the talking ID function)
Some minor minuses...
Answering Machine has average sound quality. A little warbled but not too bad.
I'm not sure how long the chrome plated silver keys will hold up to constant use.

This is the second Panasonic cordless phone I bought and it is wonderful. The backlit keypad and talking Caller ID are helpful. But the ability of one handset to be updated with changes to the phonebook in the other handset is especially convenient.

I needed a phone with an extra handset, but what really attracted me to this Panasonic was the voice technology. I programmed my cell phone into the database, and the first time I dialed and "the voice" pronounced my first and last names perfectly I almost fainted with joy. Blocking numbers from obnoxious sales people also brought satisfaction near Nirvana levels. It is easy to operate and program, even for someone pushing 60 years old like myself, and as soon as its plugged in out of the box the answering machine works immediately without anything to do, so you can enter all your numbers in at a later time without panicking. The reception is crystal clear and the LCD display is distinct and bright. I love this phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just purchased this phone and have been using it for three weeks or so, frequently for my home office and tons of conference calls. I have been extremely pleased! The volume on the handset, speakerphone and headset (that I purchased) all sound wonderfully...which was very important b/c the volume on the previous Panasonic phone I owned (a cheaper version) was horrible. I couldn't stand not hearing people anymore so bought another phone. I have always owned Panasonic phones and was always very pleased so I wasn't ready to give up on Panasonic due to my one bad experience, and again, it was also a cheap $40 phone. The reviews for this phone were very good so I bought it! My only negative comment with this phone which is not the end of the world is I am not really ecstatic with the Voice Caller Id Notification. Many reviewers are, but I don't really like it. I suppose I would if I could ever understand what it is saying, but it doesn't voice the callers clearly at all so I almost never have a clue as to who is calling. I can live with it though, not a huge deal. I haven't read the manual fully to see if I can turn that function off yet, but I am going to. I would definitely recommend this phone, and it also looks nice and doesn't take up much desk space at all...another plus.

Only had the phones for about a week.
Sound quality anywhere in my house is as good as any corded phone I've owned. No crack or hiss even in front of the PC where my old Sony 25 Channel phone suffered terrible interference.
Speaker phone on the handsets is a nice plus (never had that before) and very useful when on hold or when you need to type or write something down.
Ringtone options are sufficient if a little tinny with one very obnoxious one you're sure to hear.
Display is bright and easy to read though at least in my opinion the back lighting goes out a little too quickly and I don't see any options to configure it.
Answering machine works fine, outgoing message is a little 'metallic' but it's easily understood. Playback from the base station or handsets is as simple as it gets. I LOVE the ability to set the number of rings (2 - 7) before it picks up. Being disabled my old phone constantly picked up on the 4th ring just before I was able to get across the room. I also like that if a outgoing message isn't recorded it plays a default message. My old phone would just not answer if there was a power failure (frequent here in Florida) and the outgoing message was lost.
I do miss phone shaped phones, ones you could easily tuck between your ear and shoulder, I can't do that with these handsets though the size of these also makes them easier to carry around the house with little worry of it falling out of your pocket.
All in all I'm quite pleased with the unit and the price I paid. I would gladly recommend these to anyone looking for a decent cordless phone system with two handsets.

4 1/2 stars....Since I purchased my first cordless phone in 1989, I have always been loyal to Panasonic. As far as cordless phones are concerned, they are the pioneers in technology and design.
This phone is the second one I have owned that has talking caller ID which allows you to remain lazy and not have to look for the phone to find out who's calling. You just have to interpret the robotic language of the audio chip when it announces the name of the caller. This is the first phone I've owned that allows you to use the alarm clock feature. If used, it gives you audio options on what you would like to hear upon waking. Hearing a gentle and repeated "Good Morning," is nice.
I don't know why the Panasonic model that has a full color programmable screen doesn't have these features.
The lighted number keys are great but the function keys use cheap faux chrome material which is unfortunate.
The new DECT 6.0 frequency is great.
Pansonic rules...
