This is Tamrac's model 5374 "Adventure 74" pack. They also have a whole Adventure series of various sizes - this is not one of them. This backpack is simply great. It's well made and very versatile, with lots of moveable velcro dividers so you can customize it. Mine holds a Sony a300 with 28-300 lens attached, 70 Macro, 10-20 zoom, large flash unit, ringlight, extra battery with charger, 4 extra memory cards, filter wallet with 6 filters, bounce card, remote release, lens cleaning supplies, lens hoods, "Magic Lantern" guide, and several other small cords and gadgets. Used on a recent snowshoe outing, it was secure and comfortable to carry. The flip side is that it doesn't simply slip off when you need to get into it, but I'm OK with that. I haven't tried carrying a tripod with it yet but a friend who has a bigger version of this pack reports that it works well for him.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it..., October 31, 2008

I love this backpack. It's a great protection for our camera. It has many straps to fix tripod and additional accessories. I accidentally dropped the backpack while I was unloading the car but camera and lenses were absolutely ok. During our last trip we got drench in rain but internal part of backpack stayed dry.
I would highly recommend this product for anybody how owns one camera body and three lenses.

For those who are worried if the backpack it too small:
I own Canon 50D which is quite large body, then telephoto lens 200-500 mm and other two smaller lenses. If I add two hoods and battery charger the backpack is pretty much full. There is a front pocket for keys and wallet and some other small bits but that's all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice size backpack with loads of flexibility, July 3, 2008

I had seen the larger version of this backpack (the 75) and it seemed to be very flexible and well made, so I sought out the 74. Of course, I think they are discontinuing this line and calling it the Explorer or something, but this is a great pack. The way the digital SLR fits in there is great and the soft velcro dividers are easily customizable. The zippers are great and the fact that it works with Tamrac's accessory system is a bonus. Perfect side for the beginning DSLR photographer to grow into.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good backpack, August 20, 2010

This is a good size backpack for those starting pro. The previous bag I had would only hold my camera and 2 small lenses. This one obviously holds a lot more. It also has straps so you can attach your tripod to the outside and carry with you. I did order a Shootsac for on location shooting. This backpack doesn't offer the quick availability that is needed when in the middle of a shoot, but it is great for carrying all your gear from place to place safely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bag, weird straps, June 25, 2010

First I got the smaller version, and although I loved the size, it just wasn't big enough. My 7D could barely fit if I moved the adjustable walls around, but then it wouldn't hold extra lenses or much else. Anyway, this size is good for the camera, a couple lenses, battery charger, maybe a flash, and then the little things (filters, memory, etc).

My only issue is that the straps don't feel very comfortable when I'm wearing it on my back. It just seems awkward. I hope I break it in and get used to it, though. But what's really off is the "waist" strap. Even at the lowest adjustable setting, it still goes across my chest. I'm not that big, and I tried to adjust the pack and straps to fix it. At best, it's like an external push up bra! Ha! I guess I just won't use that strap...

Like I said, I'm going to try to break it in and see if I can figure out how to best use the straps. I'll update my review once I've used the bag a little more. I don't have all my lenses and accessories yet, but I'll try to include a picture of how everything fits into the bag once it's all there!

Great camera bag. Large enough to hold my Rebel and additional lenses as well as my external flash and my pocket sized point and shoot.

I bought this backpack based on another recommendation herein that it would hold my DSLR body (Nikon D80), regular lens, 75-300mm zoom lens, and especially a 200-500mm lens (I have the Tamrac). This is exactly what I have and wanted to carry.

Well, my stuff barely fits - VERY snug to the point I'm a little wary. And it does not hold the 200-500mm hood at all.
The 5375 might have given me more room, but it looked like the 5374 would work OK and it was ~$30 less.
Anyway, be aware that if you have 200-500mm Zoom, it may not fit to your liking.
