Big enough for a 17"
Like others have said, the bag is really big. The canvas is really good quality and reminds me of my Coast Guard sea bag. The bag has two pockets on the exterior, a rectangular one in front and a long one on the side, both having zippered closures and the side pocket has nylon lining. The front pocket also has 3 sleeve pockets where one could store an iPod or CD/DVD's and...

I know a bag has to be big for a 17" laptop but this is way too big...
Obviously a bag isn't going to be small if you're trying to fit a 17" laptop in it but this thing is HUGE! If you need to carry around tons of stuff, this might be the bag for you. If all you need to carry around is a mouse/trackball, maybe a couple of files, this is too big. You could probably fit 3 or 4 Dell 17" Inspirons in there! It definetely looked and felt...

Like others have said, the bag is really big. The canvas is really good quality and reminds me of my Coast Guard sea bag. The bag has two pockets on the exterior, a rectangular one in front and a long one on the side, both having zippered closures and the side pocket has nylon lining. The front pocket also has 3 sleeve pockets where one could store an iPod or CD/DVD's and business cards, zip drives, memory cards and the like. On the outside of the front pocket, where the Case Logic logo is, there is a pocket that has a bottle opener on an elastic tether - seems kind of odd but you never know when you'll need a church key! When the top is opened there is a zippered pocket in the lid. The inside has the laptop pocket which is plenty big for a 17" computer and has a fair amount of padding. In fact, the tag on the bag says MAX computer size: 16.5" x 13" x 2". The laptop pocket also has a Velcro closure on an elastic ribbon to snug everything up. There's another business card type sleeve on the computer pocket. And one more lined zippered pocket on the inside. All in all, plenty of pockets and loads of room in a pretty stylish bag.

I'm really short and this backpack is really big on me! When it's full with books and my laptop it sticks out quite a bit. I still like it very much. It has pen and card pockets in the very front zipper pocket. There is another zipper pocket where the image is. It's about as big as the image and not very deep. There is a zipper pocket on the inside of the flap for pens. There is another zipper pocket in the lining that's perfect for my graphing calculator. The inside is divided into two sections. The back section has cushion along the back for the protection of your laptop. There is a bottle opener attached with elastic behind the caselogic logo. The bag I received is more of a canvas olive green, which I prefer, and not as vivid as the one pictured. I love this bag -I just wish they made one slightly more petite for the short people like me.

good backpack so far..., October 26, 2009

I do like this backpack, would of liked a little more padding, so with that i couldn't give it five stars, but it does "just" fit my dell studio 17 with a neoprene sleeve on it, so with anything smaller your laptop would be swimming in it, i love the green canvas its a lot cooler and half the price of most of the black bulky backpacks, the bottle opener is just dumb but it doesnt detract from the backpack, but overall i am quite happy with it and would buy it again.

Nice Case, June 15, 2009

I looked alot of places for a case that would hold my Gateway P7805 laptop.
It holds everything I need. It is a big case.
The only concern is the fact the laptop is set in sideways. This wouldn't normally be a problem; however the case is a backpack, so the back of the pack is placed across a person's back. If the straps are too tight, there may be a strain on the laptop itself. Over time this may stress the frame.
I make sure I am careful when I pick it up. This doesn't change my 4 stars....just something to consider.

I was looking for a laptop bag for a system with a 17" screen...this fit the bill. I love the comfort of this bag, it is roomy and holds everything I need to carry. It is durable and attractive. Would make a great back pack for high school kids also, plenty of room and pockets for all they need to carry. Highly recommend, and half price off if you were to shop for it at the CaseLogic web site!

The perfect all around backpack for notebook/laptop mobility.Suggest a skin or sleeve for the laptop to provide additional protection. Very roomy and hip. minimum of special pockets but great for laptop, books,
lunch water, etc. and the price is right.

Obviously a bag isn't going to be small if you're trying to fit a 17" laptop in it but this thing is HUGE! If you need to carry around tons of stuff, this might be the bag for you. If all you need to carry around is a mouse/trackball, maybe a couple of files, this is too big. You could probably fit 3 or 4 Dell 17" Inspirons in there! It definetely looked and felt awkward for me. And the smell of the canvas is YUCK! I actually put it in the washer to see if I could get rid of the smell. I ended up getting a Belkin messenger bag for the 17" and it's perfect.

This bag is stylish, sturdy, and looks great with modern-retro styling. The only bag I have found that holds my ginormous 17" desktop replacement comfortably without the bag looking like a huge carry on suitcase. Has some nice hidden pockets too! Only wish they had added a water bottle carrier on the outside. You can't go wrong with this one.
