On a hot day this item is AWESOME!
One summer the heat did not seem to end. I found the "mistymate" and it has been a blessing. My husband came home one day and got furious that I had bought it, but on the first day of unbearable heat, he instantly changed his mind! It has been a lifesaver on hot days. I hooked it up onto the edges of the roof around our porch and it sprays a nice gentle spray of cool...

The system was easy to install, and worked great for about 6 hours. Then the fitting blew off the hose and wouldn't reattach with any security. I am in the process of trying to fix this huge design flaw, but my advice is to stay away from this product until they fix the hose coupling. The system was easy to install, and worked great for about 6 hours. Then the fitting blew off the hose and wouldn't reattach with any security. I am in the process of trying to fix this huge design flaw, but my advice is to stay away from this product until they fix the hose coupling. It is construct of a soft, cheap plastic that probably saved the company 13 cents a unit or something over a more reliable brass fitting. I will probably be able to replace it with a brass coupling of some sort myself, as I am pretty good at fixing design flaws in products--these days, you have to be. However, if you are interested in a product that works as it is supposed to without any custom modifications right out of the box, stay away from this one. It's really too bad, this item is yet another consumer product that is just one chintzy, money saving part away from being worth the price.

Ok-neat idea huh? Cooling mists from upteen nozzels on a hot FL day. On the package there is a pick of a virtual misty waterfall! Looks DELIGHTFUL and a perfect solution for your hotter exposed areas. Ya I want that! And I got it.
Yup, I got it.
I got a white hose and and a WHOLE BAG FULL OF LITTLE CHEAP PLASTIC MISTER NOZZELS that just screw right in to the hose. Easy enough, right? WELL NOT WHEN 90% of them are CRACKED....ugh. So I screw in the 10 percent that are reamining that look undamaged. Aout 4 of them work-and its NOTHING like the picture on the box (someone needs to be sued for false advertsing!)
Now I will say this, those 4 that work, makes a nice little mist if your stading within 2 feet of them...they also DRIP EVERYWHERE which takes a lot away from your mist. Another thing I discovered after the first use, if you leave it sit for a few days, and the pollen is blowing around and the dust is blowing around and all the things one finds in the great outdoors (for which the use of this item is intended) well, those little misters CLOG never to be unclogged. So Im enjoying my 32 foot hose with 2 misters still working and I do love those 2 misters, but for 3 bucks and a trip to wallyworld I could have a misty bottle with a battery operated fan that would do the same, if not better job. AVOID AVOID AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

This would be perfect if it didn't leak at the nozzles. Big drips plop on your head. I returned it.

NO, NO, NO -- Stay away, July 25, 2009

I purchased this product last year from Wal-Mart... initial setup and concept is very good...BUT, the swivel joints will not hold up to the heat here in Tucson...I tried five different times to contact the company in Phoenix and they will not reply. NOT A GOOD COMPANY...don't fall for those "supporting the military" ads either! Steer clear!

Stay away! Cheaply built, does not work as advertised, July 6, 2009

I bought this and like other posters, many of the nozzles were already cracked. Those that were not cracked leaked. Great idea, lousy product. Could probably rig something much better myself.

Not such a good buy, June 21, 2010

I purchased this system. Also noticed the hose coupler disconnected from the water spigot this morning. And 3 of the little mister nozzles were broken upon opening the package and 5 others do not work well. Nozzles are tiny cheap plastic things. Might be an advantage to not corroding, but they are made very cheaply. Better to find stainless steel nozzles vs. brass or plastic. System is easy to install and adjust, for the nozzles that choose to work. White hose really glows against my bronze background it is mounted to. It would be nice if system came with choice of hose color.
Overall, it is becoming an aggravating experience. Despite the cheap price, it is a cheap system too. Better to spend a little more on a system with stronger nozzles.

No quality control, most of the nozzles were broken in the box. Then the whole thing drips anyway, at least it does until the connector breaks apart. It's just junk, poorly made, and not well designed.

This product was purchased at Sams, and right out of the box it was broken in three places. I'll be returning it soon to get my money back. Stay away from this product!

Bought this item and it did not come with the brackets and nozzles. I called the Misty Mate customer service. They told me they were sorry and would get out the replacement parts ASAP. After four calls and an e-mail I have finally given up and I am returning this mister. I will never buy anything from Misty Mate, no matter how good the product is. I would not recommend buying anything from them.

I hooked it up onto the edges of the roof around our porch and it sprays a nice gentle spray of cool water. The only drawback is on windy days when the water sprays everywhere but where you want it, ha!
