Looks great, needs more tension
Nice compact unit that fits well under my desk so I can justify the long hours I waste online. It's replaced my footstool and I find myself pedaling subconsciously - probably a good thing. My only wish is that it had more tension, as it seems to go quite freely no matter where I set the tension wheel.

Piece of junk
The calorie counter seemed like a great feature, but all it does is increment by a fixed number of calories per rotation, no matter how you set the resistance. As if that weren't bogus enough, the number it increments by is something like 0.3, so pedaling only once per second, you would get an absurdly high figure of 600 calories in a half hour. The "computer" is...

Exactly what I was hoping it would be, April 3, 2007
This little exerciser fits right under my desk, and when it's on its mat, it does not move around on the floor (wood) at all. The noise level is pretty quiet--just a low-level ssssss, but I work at home, so I'm not sure how it would play in a cubicle setting. It was easy to assemble.
I, too, found that the tension setting doesn't make much of a difference, although it got a little tighter with more turns that I would have thought necessary. But sitting here pedaling away for a half hour felt like it lasted about a minute as I surfed and worked and allegedly--according to the calorie counter--burned about 250 calories. I did break a sweat in my air-conditioned livingroom. I expect to find myself pedaling off and on all day without even thinking about it, and I don't have to leave my work and carve out a half hour or an hour to get in a bit of daily exercise. That leaves me all the more time for my kids and family time when everyone gets home from school and work.
The pedals can be a tad slippery, but I pedal barefooted and maintain traction that way. Your desk, of course, needs to have clearance for your knees, although it is possible to turn a little sideways and pedal just off to the side of your desk while still being online or doing other work. Also, you can pedal with your hands to get a bit of an aerobic and upper-body workout in. That precludes surfing or typing, so get something good to read in front of you!
Overall, exactly what I wanted and what I hoped it would be, tension notwithstanding.

Great bike for the price, May 24, 2007
Like this little bike a lot. It's sturdy and lightweight. Able to fit under a desk. Does not move around when riding on it. The tension knob does not really increase the tension to much but, its enough to impact your workout.

SMALL BUT POWERFUL, September 30, 2008
This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Cycle (Health and Beauty)
The Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Cycle is even better quality then what I expected for the price! It is VERY sturdy and does not slide on the floor or table. For ëmpty nesters" who are trying to downsize but still want some sort of exercise equipment for those rainy or inclement days--this is great. It stores in a closet very easily. I am handicapped and I am able to sit in a comfortable position, infront of the TV and exercise my leg muscles, yet pick this up and put it on a table for upper body strengthening. TERRIFIC BUY!

Next, let's talk about the build quality. Looks good in the photo, right? I can assure you the housing is made of the cheapest plastic. Ours arrived with a corner chipped out of it. Sure, it was poorly packed, but the box was in good condition, so it clearly had not been bashed around too much. Finally, it arrived without several bolts required for final assembly.
At least the vendor processed the return promptly and without fuss. Since I'm still out return postage, I'll call that my gym fee for the season and just do laps up and down the stairs at commercial breaks until the winter weather blows over.

good idea, not so good a product, January 2, 2009
This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Cycle (Health and Beauty)
from the first use, I had to take it apart and tighten the belt, as the resistance, even with the notch at maximum, was minimal. Than it started to make a noise - one or two days later - I had to open it, again, to shave some of the plastic case that was rubbing against the shaft of the pedal on one side. Finally, as the bike continued to make a noise, i opened it for the third time, only to understand that the metalic pedal axis is turning inside a PLASTIC joint. I strongly considered sending it back - I will think some more. For now, it works, but for how long?

Not what I expected, June 26, 2009
This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Cycle (Health and Beauty)
I was disappointed with product. I bought it to do arm exercises that help with my neck problem. The product info showed it worked for both legs and arms, but when I tried to use for arms it kept wanting to lift from the table and shift. Tried on a couple of different tables and heights. Unfortunately, I ended up returniong it for a refund. So remember to keep the box all the stuff inside if your going to give this product a try.

poor quality, February 18, 2008
The machine arrived with a six inch crack in the plastic casing along the right side just beneath the pedal.
Worse than that, the screw-type bolt holes on the bottom were not machined correctly at the factory in China. These bolts are necessary because they affix the support feet to the machine. The bolts that came with my machine were too large for the holes, which proved to be irrelevant because the angle that the holes in the machine were drilled and then tapped is not level, so you can never actually screw the bolts in straight. The bolts are actually screws with a Phillips head, so it's far too easy to strip the screws; however, maybe on properly-machined bolt holes the screws go in easier. As a final testament to the level of quality associated with this product, the instruction manual is rife with inconsistencies, typos, and classic Engrish.
Fortunately the seller credited my account promptly. Because the machine was in such shoddy condition, I never even got it together, so my review not based on an actual working machine. I wished I could've used it because people who actually have it together sure seem to love it.

Love it!, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Cycle (Health and Beauty)
I am an active person with a desk job and I got this little device so I could be a little less sedentary while at work all day. My biggest fear would be that I wouldn't be able to pedal under the desk but it seems to fit quite nicely, although I am short (5'3). Yes there does seem to be a slight hissing when you turn up the tension but this does not bother me since I'm using it really for movement rather than exercise.
I think the calorie read out is complete crap, I'd have to be sprinting to burn as many calories as they are saying I'm burning sitting behind a desk but the rotation and time are helpful.
This is a great value for the money (especially with the free shipping), very sturdy, very practical. I plan on purchasing another to leave at home in front of the television and possibly another for my mom!
