LOVE THESE BOOTS!
I will admit to being a bit skeptical about purchasing shoes over the internet. I am a visual person, :) so I always like to know how something is going to look on me before buying. ( I hate having to deal with returning/shipping items as well)
I had checked out some department stores and some other shops at the mall. I did go to Steve Madden at the mall, and I saw...

Great Quality, Lacks Style
Note: I love my shoes and my boots. And I will try anything in fashion once.
I got these in the hunter green and the coloring was gorgeous. I slipped them on and they fit okay, but they hurt the soles of my feet! The design of the boot is nice- slouchy, relaxed- great to be paired with rolled up jeans and/or a lazy skirt... presumably...

I will admit to being a bit skeptical about purchasing shoes over the internet. I am a visual person, :) so I always like to know how something is going to look on me before buying. ( I hate having to deal with returning/shipping items as well)
I had checked out some department stores and some other shops at the mall. I did go to Steve Madden at the mall, and I saw these boots and wanted to try them on, but sadly they did not have my size. They were exactly what I was on the hunt for. :)A simple, classy and stylish boot that would not kill my feet if I were to wear them all day. :) So imagine my heartbreak when yet again my long size 10 feet were turned away. ;)
I decided to try Amazon, since I had some luck in the past finding items on here, though shoe wear was never something I thought I'd buy on this site.......well I am so glad I did because not only was my size available, I got them for $15.00 cheaper!! Even better! (Free shipping too!:)
These boots are heaven to my feet. :) I love the length, (I have longer legs so I was worried where these would exactly fall on me, they fall just below my knee) I like the slight "positioned" slouch they have to them. These boots do not "pull down" when you walk in them, they stay put. With my previous pair of knee length boots I was always having to pull them up as they would "fall" after a bit. These don't do that.
They are very comfortable to walk and be in. They are simple yet so stylish! I like the flat heel, it really makes for a comfortable fit. I have some high heeled boots, but after so long, your feet start screaming for a break. :) You'll wear these all day without any tears. :)
I also recommend getting a suede protector spray, I got these in black, and with most suede boots, it will pick up dirt....you're going to want protect these lovely boots for as long as you can! :)

Though I normally wear a size 6, I first got these in a 6.5 to be safe. They were too big, and one boot had a larger circumference than the other, so the looser one kept slipping down... Amazon has excellent customer service, so I was able to send them back as defective and order another pair (this was Thanksgiving so I also got a 30% off)
These boots are very well-made, they're so soft and comfortable! They're also really warm so I'm hoping they'll keep me nice and comfy through the winter. The real suede is really nice so I sprayed it with suede protector. Highly recommend these!

Nice fit, looks good, September 21, 2008
Other Steve Madden boots have come to me "small" but these boots are true to size. They do not fall down when you wear them and they are very nicely "scrunched". Very comfortable. The gray is an odd color - dark but not a true dark gray. It doesn't really match heather gray, light gray clothes although it looks "OK" - so I wouldn't really recommend that color.

STYLE:
- the boot came up mid calf. I have long legs (36" inseam), but I've found a few pairs of boots that reach my knees at least. These came up to mid calf, which had a way of cutting my long legs in half, making me look awkward. I tried to pull up the "foldover" part of the boot and even with that up, they still barely reached the bottom of my knee cap.
- The slouchy design is wicked cute. I wished these fit me right.
- the rounded toe and the flat foot paired with the slanted rise of the front of the shoe for the top of you foot, makes the shoe look like an elf shoe. (especially in the green color, unfortunately. I maybe should have picked a different color for my first Steve Madden flat boots)
COMFORT:
- the sole of the boot is really hard. The foot casing cuts into the backs of my heels/ ankles.
- I ordered a size 8 (which is my typical sneaker size) and they were a little big for me. If you're borderline sizes, order down.
- there was plenty of room for the calves, even when the top of the boot hit right in the "meat" of my calf muscle.
- the shoe is so flat that it actually hurts my foot. There is no arch support whatsoever. Could be just me, but I guess I really can't do flat boots. If you have high arches, these aren't the shoes for you.
SHIPPING:
5 out of 5
- I got these shoes within 3 business days during the christmas season. I ordered on a Thursday, one WEEK before christmas, and got them on Monday, BEFORE christmas. Fantastic. No damages to the packaging. They were in their own little plastic sleeves, stuffed with foam and cardboard to preserve shaping. Then they were put in a shoe box, and put into another box for shipping. Great service.
The style of the shoe is cute. The idea of the shoe is great. The reality of the shoe is not so much. I will be returning these and looking for a different style of boot. :)

Great Looking Boots, September 22, 2008
Winter is coming so it's time to stock up on new winter stuff. These boots are the cutest things to walk the earth since Madonna. These snuggly things have made my day plenty of times, they go with absolutely everything I wear and I love them. I wear them with shorts, pants, tights, leggings, everything. I can't believe how they fit right in with my life. Really, everyone comments on them and the comments are all good.

These boots are just what I was looking for! They're pretty true to size (though I always buy closed-toe shoes a half size bigger for comfort), perfectly scrunched, and really cute. I have thin legs, and they aren't super tight against my skin (so if that's what you want, you should probably look for something with a smaller top). They look great with skinny jeans tucked into them!

I ordered 1/2 a size down (7 1/2) - I normally wear a size 8 if footwear is medium width as I have wide feet. The boots fit perfectly and are comfortable. I'd suggest before ordering these to measure your calf at the widest point over the type of pants/jeans you'll be wearing to make sure they'll fit corectly (which is what I did). The boots may be quite snug if you have larger calves. Had a bit of glue on the bottom of one boot but it came right off.

Amazingly soft, slouchy boots, November 30, 2009
I wear a 5 and got the 5.5 as it was the smallest size offered, and with my usual thick socks it fits just fine. I did read the reviews and took someone's suggestion of buying gel inserts, which made a huge difference in comfort, as the soles are fairly thin. If you're used to flat shoes it probably won't matter, but if you tend to wear thick soles or heels, you may want to buy some gel inserts. The boots look very expensive in my opinion, and I love that you can wear them knee high or slouch them down to look different. The color is fantastic too.

I was very pleased with these boots, the look, the fit, and the comfort. I was surprised to be this satisfied without picking them out and trying them on in a shoe store.
