I know, I know -- It's another one of those "As seen on TV" gimmicks. This one really works! I'm a grill nut and I have all the accesories to prove it. This one is Great. 1.0 out of 5 stars Melted Plastic on the Grill - Yummy!!!
The metal bristles are held on by a plastic base. Guess what happens when you mix plastic with a hot grill? It melts and the bristles fall out. The actual brush handle is made from hard plastic so if you happen to drop it or apply pressure while scrubbing the grill expect it to crack easily.

It should have been made with a metal base for the bristles where it...

I just heat the grill up (a Weber of course)fill the Grill Daddy with water - turn the water knob to on and scrub like you would with any other grill brush. The difference is the water - it works like a steam cleaner. It's like when you de-glaze the bottom of a pan by adding a little water or wine to make a gravy or sauce. The grate is perfectly clean with very little effort. I'm getting one for my brother. Good Grillin'

5.0 out of 5 stars Grilling is now a great meal and quick cleanup!, December 3, 2008

New Kenmore grill and already getting frustrated over the laborious process of cleaning and forget about sticking parts in the dishwasher as you are told at Sears.

Well I grilled some chicken breasts and purchased this item and did not clean it for a few days until the Grill Daddy Pro arrived. (disgusting yes I know) but I guessed this was the ultimate test with old hardened grease on parts and bottom.

No need for instructions, common sense does it, heat up grill pour water in and go at it. This grill brush cleaned the my Kenmore grill well beyond expectations, and I noticed there was no abrasive scarring of finish on bottom of grill and sides ended up almost like new.

You can purchase without reservation, I am already looking to purchase additional brush heads because I suspect the manufacturer to either go out of business or discontinue this model of grill brush and I will not be able to replace.

5.0 out of 5 stars best grill brush, September 1, 2008
This review is from: Grill Daddy GD12952S Grill Daddy Pro Grill Brush (Lawn & Patio)
We have tried all kinds of brushes to clean our grill and none of them really worked that well so we brought all four grates in the house to scrub with steel wool. We began dreading to cook out because of all of the scrubbing needed prior to cooking.
Now we can enjoy grilling again since we bought this grill brush. It is easy to use and works great. IT took us 5 minutes to clean our entire huge grill !!!

The metal bristles are held on by a plastic base. Guess what happens when you mix plastic with a hot grill? It melts and the bristles fall out. The actual brush handle is made from hard plastic so if you happen to drop it or apply pressure while scrubbing the grill expect it to crack easily.

It should have been made with a metal base for the bristles where it touches the grill and used a more giving plastic like most grill brush handles. The engineers for this product were obviously not too bright.

This product really works. It does an amazing job when used as directed. The main beef I have is the quality of the unit. I just ordered my 3rd. They kind of fall apart. First just leaked water. 2nd one, the head and the piece that is supposed to be attached to the unit came apart. Yet here I am ordering another one at $20. I'd give it 5 stars if it would last longer than a year (I do grill twice a month on average).

I don't know if I qualify as a grill freak, but I grill about 3 times a week on a CharBroil infra red propane grill. I had not cleaned it for six months until I got the Grill Daddy Pro. I preheated the grill for about 15 minutes and the Grill Daddy effortlessly cleaned off six months of burned on food in about 60 seconds. It's one of those things that gives you a slap on the side of the head;"Why didn't I think of that". GREAT TOOL, Now I know what I am giving for Christmas to all my grill buddies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Excellent!, January 7, 2010
By Wendi (Kailua, HI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grill Daddy GD12952S Grill Daddy Pro Grill Brush (Lawn & Patio)
I read some positive reviews of the Grill Daddy Pro before buying it, but still had my reservations given the fact that it looks so goofy and is made of "cheap plastic" (as one reviewer noted). However, I must say that it works FANTASTIC! I have a Weber Q series with a heavy grill that is a BEAR to clean. I have tried water, soap and water, 409, Simple Green... you name it. Nothing came close to the job that the Grill Daddy Pro did. When used on a very hot grill, it eliminated all of the grease and 98% of the stuck-on stuff. I suppose the only downside is that it doesn't clean the underside of the grill rack or the interior of the BBQ. Minor details in my opinion. I would definitely recommend investing in one of these, especially if your current grill-cleaning device/system is not very effective.

When my wife bought this based on a TV infomercial, I was skeptical because many products shown on TV simply do not work the same when you try them at home (I know because we have our fair share). But this product was a pleasant surprise. It was easy to use and worked quite well at cleaning our backyard gas grill.

Simply fill the Grill Daddy with water, pre-heat your grill (I recommend with the cover closed) for ten minutes, then turn it off and use the Grill Daddy. As the water comes out it turns to steam and makes cleaning the grill a snap with a little "elbow grease." There are two cleaning heads: a brush that works with the steam, and metal wires for more heavy duty scraping and cleaning between the grates.

I suggest you wear a cooking mitt when you clean the grill to avoid burning yourself with the steam.

Although this product is made of plastic, which obviously is susceptible to heat, this was not a problem in cleaning the grill. As long as you don't touch the grill with the plastic, you don't have to worry about it melting.

This is much easier and more effective than using an ordinary brush. The water not only creates steam that helps remove the buildup, but also reduces the friction of rubbing, so you don't have to exert as much effort as with an ordinary brush.

Bottom Line: This is a very simple way to clean your grill with a minimum of effort, and you will see that it is much cleaner than if you had used an ordinary brush.

What a simple, yet brilliant idea. Have a hollow grill brush, fill it with water and when your grill is nice and hot scrub it down. The water steam cleans the grill with a continuous flow of water. The only problem is the device is made of brittle plastic. Mine broke after the first use. I'm giving it two stars because it is such a great idea. Hopefully my replacement lasts a lot longer than one use.
