Just GLIDE BABY !
I've been using electric razors for about 20 years and never was happy. Shaves required me to go over and over the same area many many times and it was time consuming and frustrating. I also never got the close shave I saw others at work sporting. After researching for hours on shaving I ran across this razor. I bought it and also bought some Feather Platinum blades...

Good but bad longevity
This is a good razor but what none of the other reviews mention is that this razor eventually rusts a little inside where it is hinged. Also the hinge is fairly weak and eventually broke after about 8 months of use. If you're looking for a cheaper razor go with the Parker 22R. It has a coating on it and I've at no problems with rust in the 8 monhts I've had it. I have...

Just GLIDE BABY !, August 10, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
I've been using electric razors for about 20 years and never was happy. Shaves required me to go over and over the same area many many times and it was time consuming and frustrating. I also never got the close shave I saw others at work sporting. After researching for hours on shaving I ran across this razor. I bought it and also bought some Feather Platinum blades for testing.
I looked into the expensive silvertip badger hair brushes with nice english soap and dishes but one reviewer said that Edge gel worked fine. I bought this razor and used the stock blades for a week. It worked great with the Edge gel. I put the gel on thin and even then pretend shaved with my finger to wipe even more off to have a thin coating. Then I simply shaved.
The razor has perfect balance and with the amount of weight on the head all you do is glide. DO NOT PRESS....just glide. It presses down perfectly on its own. The included 100 shark blades work great and with edge gel I'm all set.
I tried some Feather Platinums because they are supposed to be extremely sharp coming from a Japanese surgical company. THEY ARE. I got 3 tiny nicks yesterday and again today but overall another great shave. Both give you a very close shave. The sharks may be better for my coordination though so I'll keep trying both. I shave in less than 2 minutes now after coming out of the shower with my beard nicely hydrated. If you don't shower, soak your beard for a couple of minutes with a washcloth to get the beard wet so the whiskers are weaker and cut easier. The razor has a super easy butterfly twist clam shell top that makes cleaning and changing a snap. After each shave I open the butterfly top, remove the blade CAREFULLY and under running water pull any gunk off the blade in a GENTLE pinch away motion moving away from the blade. DO NOT CUT YOURSELF. Take your time with this. Then I rinse the razor with it open, put the blade back in and leave it open to dry till tomorrow.
I now know I will never go back to an electric. THIS IS JUST TOO EASY. I'm recommending this setup to anyone who will listen. Make sure you look at your face first and shave WITH the whiskers. Also if you are a lady who wants a great razor for your legs, this is IT ! Just shave with the direction of hair growth and not against and DO NOT PRESS AT ALL......... JUST GLIDE !!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice, January 9, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
I have a large assortment of Safety Razors and blades. THis is a nice package for many reasons. First of all this is not a very heavy razor. If you want a mack truck, this is not your razor. If you want a functional item that is easy to use relative to Safety Razors, this could be your ticket.
It is a great, simple safety razor and it can be used as an everyday item or travel razor. The handle has a very nice texture/grip and the TTO feature makes it easy to change the blade. I get a nice a very clean refreshing shave with this razor and blade combo. I like the blade exposure here too. Not too docile, not too agressive.
I've used the Sharp blades in this razor and in others. Great blades. Do the their job with comfort to spare. Never been nicked by one. With a good shave soap/shave cream, the right shaving skills and this combo you will have a face that is as smooth as silk. This makes an outstanding first razor or a nice addition to a collection. Just be aware, this is not as heavy as some of the other models, which I believe makes it a little easier to use and learn with. If you prefer a heavy weight razor, this is not the one you want.

Bravo, January 6, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
I had gotten the parker 22R, 86R, both meaty dbl edged safety razors, with no minimal pressures needed as the heads are counterweighted for near perfect balances. I was amazed on the weights, and I am beyond satisfied with glee. Jumping for Joy literally, I was conteplating the Merkurs, but I had seen that the Parker's caught my eye on price/heads and similiar stuffs that my pops/grandpops had when I was young. I was quite shocked how fast it had arrived all the way out here, in the sticks. And I'm genuinely happy that this retailer has superb shipping despite my order in the New Year holidays. A+++. If your looking for less work, try the 22R or 86R.. The 22R has a little longer shaft, and has a nice weight on the head. The 86 is short shafted and a heavier field than the 22R, in shaft and head. Overall I am beyond satisfied on my choices. And whats not to like 7 plat blades + 100 more blades. Thank you for offering that deal. Cheers , I will continue to shop for my personal grooming needs here.

So long Fusion
Good bye Mach 3
Au Revoir Sensor
These cartridge razors are all gadgets with madision avenue hype.
The Parker is a real razor that leaves my face feeling like it does when I leave the barbershop. No Stubble. The shave cuts the hair.. no pulling and yanking. Great combo here. Great razor, great blades, excellent price. Leaves the gimmick razors in the dust.

Finally, shaving doesn't suck., November 29, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
This is the real deal. After 12 years of battling Gillette razors, ingrown hair and razor burn, this safety razor has come to my rescue. With a bowl of Omega Shaving Cream, my face has never been happier. After using this razor for about a month, I can consistently shave against the grain and walk away with an extremely smooth face, rarely any nicks and never any razor burn. And to think that this razor has been around for all these years without me knowing... *sigh*
Internet + Amazon = Death of well-marketed but poorly made products.

Parker 86R...Great Razor, April 23, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
When I was a kid, I'm now 45 years old, my father used a Gillette safety razor. When I learned how to shave I used a Gillette safety razor. I used one until the late 80's. Then I started using whatever new razor either Gillette or Schick came out with. Honestly, I'm tired of the multi-blades clogging...the shave that isn't to smooth...and most of all the cost of the shavers and blades. I bought the Parker 86R and have been using it for several days now. It's one blade shaves closer than the 3,4, or 5 bladed razors that I had been using. It doesn't clog with shaving cream. The blades are inexpensive. The weight of the razor just feels good in my hand. In my opinion it's just a great product. I intend to buy another one for my son, who turns 15 next month. I just can't think of a better way to shave.

Satisfied Customer, December 10, 2008
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
I bought this razor for my husband. He constantly complained about the performance of the numerous brands of disposable razors he had tried. He had been looking for one of these razors in the stores. Needless to say, you can find the blades but not the razors. So as a last resort we decided to look on line to see if we could find one. Well, I can tell you that there are plenty to choose from on line, but the reason this one caught our eye is because you get free shipping and 100 sharp stainless blades, which is a real bargain. We received this product within three days after ordering. My husband joked that he would probably be wearing a roll of toilet tissue on his face after shaving with it. I am happy to say that there was no cuts and that he was very pleased with the close shave he got. He said that the shave was smooth and there was no pulling like he usually experienced with even a new disposable razor. The razor is built sturdy and has a smooth open and close action. In summary, this is a well built razor, you get a smooth, close shave and you get free shipping and 100 blades. What a deal!!

Very nice razor, October 26, 2008
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
I received this razor as a birthday gift when I decided I wanted to give wet shaving a try. From my limited experience, it seems to be a very fine razor. It is a very sturdy construction. The twisting action for loading and unloading the blades makes it a very easy razor to use! You simply set in the blade, turn the handle, and it properly locks the blade into a comfortable shaving position. It takes a little practice to get used to shaving with this type of razor if you're used to modern safety razors, but it is well worth it! The best angle to hold the razor with regard to the face seems to be about a 45 degree angle. The quality of the shave is great. You can get a baby-smooth shave with no irritation after practice. This is a great razor to buy for someone interested in this type of shaving, and will likely serve them well for many years!

Finally! A Perfect Shave & a Great Razor!, March 19, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
The Parker 86r is the razor I've needed for years! After trying all the Machs as they came out and getting more ingrown hairs, I finally returned to the most enjoyable and satisfying shave I could have. It didn't take long to remember how great it is to have a close shave. The Sharp blades are fantastic, last me 5 to 6 days, are a great bargain, and with the razor, a sound ecological investment. Use them with Proraso Shaving Cream and Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave (it contains no alcohol) and your face will feel better than it has in years. I look forward to a relaxing shaving experience every morning now. It starts the day off right! Perfect razor--perfect blades--Unbeatable!!

Fan-Friggin-Tastic!!!, September 17, 2009
This review is from: Parker 86R Double Edge Safety Razor and **100 Shark Chrome Blades ** (Health and Beauty)
"Fantastic product and value!! Need I say more? I wanted to be economical and find a way to shave without breaking the bank every few weeks for razors. This is it!! Super close shave and easy to use. The only drawback to this type of shaving is that regular shaving cream lacks some lubricants. I purchased shaving soap and the brush, bowl & stand and could not be happier getsome!!!!"
