Fantastic, Long-lived Toy
I have nothing but positive things to say about this toy. I purchased it for my 1 yr. old, not expecting her to get much play value out of it initially. However, a year later it has brought her -- and her father! -- constant play value. From learning about "apart" and "together, color grouping, magnetic polarity, learning shapes, stringing together, rolling, and...

A bit disappointed
When we saw the picture online it looked like we were going to be able to make what we saw in the picture...to our disappointment we later found out that the toy pictured on the box was not the 36 piece but actually about 150 pieces. So we opened the box and was only able to make a fraction of the structure. The concept was nice, but need to have at least 150 pieces to...

Fantastic, Long-lived Toy, October 9, 2006
I have nothing but positive things to say about this toy. I purchased it for my 1 yr. old, not expecting her to get much play value out of it initially. However, a year later it has brought her -- and her father! -- constant play value. From learning about "apart" and "together, color grouping, magnetic polarity, learning shapes, stringing together, rolling, and everthing in between, the excellence of Magneatos seems basically limitless. And although she can't build complicated structures at this point, she enjoys watching us make different sculptures that she can help manipulate, break apart, and reconstruct. Another fantastic thing about this toy is that the magnets are just the right strength -- they stay stuck together when they need to, but are also easy to pull apart, avoiding frustrating a toddler.
I recommend (and have recommended) this to everyone I know.

Very durable toy, May 3, 2006
Durability: Fun: Educational:
We bought these for our toddler several months ago. She is too little to make the constructions, but loves stringing the magnets together to make 'snakes'. She finds steel objects in the house that the magnets stick to. She likes them a lot more than wooden blocks. They are a good large size, but not too big for little hands to hold, easy to tidy up and don't hurt if you step on them!

Great for All Ages!, January 30, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Magneatos (36 Piece Set) (Toy)
The Magneatos caught my attention because I have an original set with the small pieces. The small set is not practical for toddlers and infants. This allows kids to be creative while learning colors and shapes. The 3 year old I bought it for loved it! It was the gift that distracted him from opening all his presents at Christmas!

Pretty good, magnets could be stronger but kids don't seem to mind, January 8, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
I have a son whose is almost 4 and a daughter who is 2 1/2. They both seem to really enjoy playing with these magnets. Personally, I think they would have more fun and be able to build more creative things if the magnets were stronger, but it hasn't seemed to decrease how much they want to play with them. They even asked me if we could get more so they could build bigger (longer) things. They can't be stacked too high but they do encourage some problem solving which is something I have found lacking in a lot of kids these days. No bells, no whistles, just kids building and making connections. Nice to see.

FUN for ALL ages, January 9, 2007
I like this because any age can enjoy playing and building with the Magneatos. We got this for our 3 year old granddaughter but her 9 month old brother likes to play with it. The pieces are large enough that we don't worry about any little one choking.

My grandkids love this toy!, November 23, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Magneatos (36 Piece Set) (Toy)
I got this toy for my grandson's 6th birthday and he just loves it. He and his 2 year old brother are able to play with it together and they do just that, for hours at a time. I would definitely recommend it.

hours of fun, May 21, 2009
This is a well-made product, and just the right size for younger children to grip and carry. The colors are bright and appealing and the set is brought out over and over and played with by the birthday girl (1 yr.) and her older brother (turning 3).

Great product, January 27, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Magneatos (36 Piece Set) (Toy)
I can't brag enough about these. My 21 mo old son plays with them all the time. He hasn't quite gotten into the creating different things with them yet but he loves the magnetic pull they have and is reconnecting them constantly. They are fairly lightweight despite having magnets in them.
I would recommend getting more than one set though. We have 2 sets and a third might be a little better to do more things with them.
