Great Game!
I'm 36 and this game is great! I've played this type on the computer, but now I have it for DS and it's a lot of fun. There are so many things to find and different ways to find them (xray, underwater goggles, flashlight). There are other things to do other than look for hidden pictures. There are puzzles that you have to piece together and contraptions you have to figure...

Great graphics, not very interesting
I bought this based on the good reviews here. I agree that it is beautifully done but I found the game downright tedious. There is no mystery to solve, just a list of items to find in various settings. Now and then there are 'puzzles' but with only one exception, they are simple and require no real thought.
If you're looking for a "Where's Waldo" type of...

I'm 36 and this game is great! I've played this type on the computer, but now I have it for DS and it's a lot of fun. There are puzzles that you have to piece together and contraptions you have to figure out. I've been playing it for three days straight and I'm not even close to finding out the mystery. This is a great game!!! Even my 7 year old looks over my shoulder as I play it and helps me find stuff. If you love the PC versions - then you will love this one too.

This is an awesome game! I am a middle-aged mother and this is one of the my first DS games - I couldn't put it down! My husband threatened to take my DS away from me I became so engrossed in this game. I can't wait for a sequel! I'm not into fighting games or sports games and crossword puzzles, etc. get boring after awhile, but I've played this game completely through two times now. I like the mini-games for a change of pace and the added difficulty in finding objects with a flashlight or the x-ray machine game me just the right challenge to keep me coming back for more and not becoming bored. I love to put zigsaw puzzles together in the wintertime so the mini-game zigsaw puzzles were an added treat. I also found the storyline added some fun by creating an end goal other than just completely the current screen or puzzle. There aren't a lot of games out there for a middle-aged mother, but this is definitely one of them!

I bought this based on the good reviews here. I agree that it is beautifully done but I found the game downright tedious. If you're looking for a "Where's Waldo" type of entertainment, I highly recommend this game. The detail is astonishing, particularly in X-Ray mode. As a mystery, it misses the mark.

Repetitive, quick & easy, prefer reading a book, September 26, 2008

After seeing 10 reviews and this having a 5 star overall rating (9 five and 1 four), I couldn't resist picking this game up for under 20 bucks.
I'm a 34 year old male who usually enjoys sports simulations, rpg, adventure, and puzzle and family games.
It feels very much like the I Spy games or Hidden Mystery games on the PC. It contains very little story with very short interactions with the suspects. You do virtually nothing to 'solve' the mystery other than find random items within a picture and solve some simple puzzles. The items are completely random and don't even go along with the story or setting (ie: within the garden you find a bundle of junk the millionheir left there)
Then to top things off, you suddenly have to perform some silly task before you can get information from a suspect (like fix a clock or find some ingredients for a recipe). I thought I was supposed to be a detective.
It had a few nice tools, like the usage of a flash light, x-ray pen, and straw (microphone) to blow things around the screen.
Professor Laytons Curious Village was a mystery / puzzle game that was much better than this. It's puzzles revolved more around logic and reasoning rather than seek and find. Millionheir feels more like a word search with pictures (I would choose this over a word search) that have little to nothing to do with the plot.
I skipped the rookie mode and chose detective mode (you are given a limited amount of time to find the clues within a picture). I had at least half the time left for each picture except one. I never felt rushed to hurry and solve the task at hand even without using the hint button. Upon completion, you do get more difficult settings if you feel like replaying it again...but I don't have an interest in completing a game just to find different items within the pictures.
Other reviewers call this a 'thinking' game, but I find there are much better 'thinking' games out there (Professor Layton, Flash Focus, Brain Age, most adventure games, most rpg games, and most strategy games).
Based on the reviews, there is definitely a population that enjoys it, so be sure to read their reviews to see if you have similar interests as I seem to be in the minority and not the target audience for this game.
The nice thing about this game is the price relative to most DS games, BUT I would have enjoyed reading 3 new mystery novels for the same price (10+ used mystery novels).

I'm a grandma who doesn't enjoy the action type games my grandson loves. Prefer games like Prof Layton. I noted the overall good ratings given this game and gave it a try. I found it to be just boring. It's view after view of "find the hidden object" with a few non-thinking puzzles thrown in. The gimmicks like underwater and flashlight contribute nothing. I played all the way through to the end waiting for something interesting to happen, but unfortunately it never did. I guess if you are a person who likes "find the hidden object" games, this is OK, but I did not like it, and am sorry I wasted my money on it. I'm not in general a critical person, and do not enjoy submitting such a negative review, but it's truly how I feel about this game.

I SPY a Winner here!, November 2, 2008

MCF: MillionHeir for DS is such fun! It reminded me so much of the I SPY books that children and even adults all enjoy. As an adult, I am enjoying the fun and challenge of this game. The stylus makes it fun to find things and to often figure out the mystery of how to get things to work in order to find them. I was looking for something with puzzle type games like Professor Layton and this one caught my eye. It will keep doing that as it seems to have never ending puzzles in this game. I highly recommend it for adults and children 8 and up!

It took awhile, but MCF finally made it to the DS, and it's a great match! MCF titles are the best of the hidden-object games, and this has all the goofiness and great graphics of the PC versions. Hope there are more of these to come for DS.

I bought this game for myself to use on my daughters DS... I love it and can't put it down! I play it so much I have to rest my hands, it's giving me carpel tunnel! LOL! This game has so many chapters/levels and so much to search for. If you like playing mystery games, this is for you. It's similar to I Spy but an adult version. The story that goes with it is cute too. Very entertaining.

I have just finished the Rookie and Detective mode and throughly enjoyed it! My grandson who is 10 years old is playing the game now. I haven't played the PC version, but I'm considering buying that game. If you enjoy the hidden objects games such as "I Spy" or "Where's Waldo" you will love this one. I was disappointed when the game finished. I wanted MORE objects to find. I also like using the stylus. I try to find games that I don't have to use the control buttons. I hope another version comes out soon.
