5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than A BOB -I Promise!, June 26, 2009
By Stroller Snob (Salt Lake City, UT) - See all my reviews

Why are people so 'in love' with their BOB Strollers? Personally, I believe it is because they are trendy -nothing else. Baby Jogger City Classic is better than a BOB and here are the reasons why: the handle is adjustable (the BOB's is not), the seat is removable and washable (the BOB's is not), the stroller folds down with Baby Jogger's patented 1-step handle (the BOB folds down in 2 steps), the area where your toddler's feet go is hard black plastic, which can be wiped clean (the BOB's foot area is material and gets gross & nasty because it can't be washed), your baby can almost lay down flat (the BOB doesn't recline that flat). So with all these reasons why do people continue to have a shallow love affair with BOB Strollers? Anyways, I love my stroller! It is so easy to push and I love that the shade cover is extremely large. I never bought the car seat adapter because the seat reclines to almost flat; with the shade pulled down it acts like a cocoon! This stroller is so cool that it should have its own theme music!

I also owned the double jogger and it was a fantastic stroller, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best all around stroller out there!, July 16, 2009
By Amyinchile (Gunnison, CO, USA) - See all my reviews
I love this stroller! If you are only going to purchase one stroller this is the one to get. I live in an urban area and mostly walk and jog on paved paths, however sometimes I take the stroller on dirt paths and it is just fine. I have used both the Bob and the Phil and Ted's stroller and by far the baby jogger is easier to use, lighter, and handles better. I love how easy it folds up, I can do it with one hand. It's so easy to take the stoller apart to put the material in the washing machine. It is well made and durable. I did have a small problem and the company replaced the frame immediately. Great customer service.

I really do love this stroller and I will say the quick fold mechanism is AWESOME. I see these other parents struggling to fold their strollers and all I have to do is pull the strap and BAM! It's folded. So Cool! The first week I got it, ppl were asking what kind it was and where they could also get one. I have noticed many ppl having issues with the stroller's alignment when they try to run with it. I found a reviewer who said that on many of these the front wheel peg was not mounted square when it was manufactured and after he contacted Baby Jogger for the replacement parts he fixed the problem and the stroller now tracks straight. He is able to run without any more issues (his wheel rims are still not straight). Overall I do love my stroller, but the wheels being uneven plus the square mounting issue of the front wheel are quality control issues that keep this stroller from being perfect.
P O S I T I V E S:
-Fabric
-Padding
-Adjustable handlebar
-One touch to change front wheel from swivel to stationary
-Seat Tilt
-Quick Fold
-Smooth Ride
-Baby Jogger customer service
M I N U S E S:
-Wheel rims are NOT straight and you immediately notice that if you look at them when you use the stroller (It doesn't impact the use of the stroller when walking or running-unless your are a sprinter:)
-Under seat storage is tough to get to which a child in your stroller.
-My 3 yr old is almost too tall for the seat
-There is not yet a car seat adaptor for one of the most popular infant seats on the market (Chico Keyfit)
-All the accesories you have to buy (cupholders, bags, etc) make an expensive stroller even more so.

5.0 out of 5 stars Liberating and Incredible, October 8, 2009

This stroller ROCKS! We had a collapsible Combi stroller and the wheels broke, it steered awful and drove us nuts. We stepped it up to the City Classic and absolutely love this stroller. The ride is so smooth, easy to steer, and doesn't feel like you're really pushing. It just glides around. The storage underneath is large enough to fit our diaper-backpack and the canopy actually works. It blocks the sun from our boy's face at virtually all times of day. I really have nothing but positive things to say about it. The easy one hand fold is brilliant as well. I hope you get one, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST STROLLER EVER!! Don't by a BOB--buy this stroller, October 14, 2009
This is the best baby purchase I have made (and I've made a lot!). I went between this and the BOB and am so glad I picked this stroller. I've had it for 6 weeks now and walk with it everyday in my neighborhood (paved sidewalks) and it is so easy to push and comfortable for my large 9 month old (22+ pounds). The adjustable handle is great--for me and husband 5'10, for my father 6'4 and my mother 5'3, I think that is one of the greatest things. The sunshade is awesome. The storage is adequate (mesh bag for extra sweatshirt/burp cloths; zipper pocket for phone keys wallet). I haven't bought any of the attachments yet (haven't needed them). The price here can not be beat when you compare it to the BOB which is near impossible to find on sale. I just can't say enough good things about this stroller and wish I would have bought it months ago and not spent the money on my expensive Maclaren umbrella stroller (which now stays folded in my trunk). Excellent stroller--great price--buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, functional stroller, November 19, 2009

My wife and I looked at a lot of strollers before finally, with a bit of trepidation, buying this BJCC. Why the worry? All the strollers seem to trade some great function for another shortcoming. Was this one "too" heavy, what about laying flat?, why is it NOT a jogging stroller? Do we need that too? What's the difference between last year's model and this year? Etc, etc.
Well it turns out this is just right for just about anything we need. We use it as a jogger (it has a strap but no handbrake), it's not too heavy, though it doesn't lay flat our baby won't need that soon, this model was $200 LESS than the current year!
Enough said, it's great, no regrets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome stroller! Perfect for a growing toddler!, October 27, 2009
I researched for months before ultimately purchasing the Baby Jogger City Classic. I am not a runner, but I do use this stroller for everything else. I love the way it handles...it's so easy to push and steer one-handed. The air-filled tires are a really nice feature, and so is the fact that it has shocks on the front tire. You barely feel bumps on rough terrain. The colors of the stroller are attractive and the fabric seems pretty durable. The sun shade is fantastic! It will keep the sun out of your childs eyes no matter what time of the day it is. It has some storage on the back of the stroller which is a nice feature, but I have yet to use it. The basket below is a decent size, but not very accessible at all. The biggest selling point for me was that it has a high seat. The seat back measures roughly 21" whereas similar strollers measure around 17". This was very important to me because my 2 year old is very tall for his age. My son fits in this stroller very well, with tons of room to grow. He seems very comfortable, also. The foot rest is better than a lot of jogging/all terrain strollers. It can be easily cleaned and it provides plenty of room for children with longer legs. The adjustable handle is nice, parents of all heights can push it comfortably. This stroller folds very easily and isn't too heavy compared to others in its class. My only realy complaint is that once it's folded up, it's very awkward. There's not a good place to pick it up and carry it, and it doesn't latch together once it's folded so it comes apart easily. However, it folds up fairly compactly and takes up less than half of the trunk in my nissan altima. This is a great all around stroller. Great for walks on any terrain and for shopping (just be careful because the back wheels are very wide-set, so you will have trouble fitting between clothing racks!).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Stroller!, October 14, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Baby Jogger City Classic Single Stroller, Black & Stone (Baby Product)
I got this stroller to replace two former jogging strollers that just didn't meet my needs. I am so happy that after tons of research I decided to go with the Baby Jogger City Classic. The pros: Deep seat (big enough for a large two year old- with more room to grow), huge sun shade, flat seat recline, super easy fold with one hand, compact when folded (only takes up half the trunk of my Ford Escape), great for brisk walking on uneven sidewalks, roomy basket underneath and back of seat pocket, see-through windows in sun shade, 14in. back tires are not as bulky as standard 16in. jogger, adjustable handle bar, plenty of leg room for child. The cons: not made for serious jogging, smaller rear tires not as sturdy as the large 16in. tire on typical joggers, larger tires=smoother ride (but also more bulky if using in the mall or fitting in trunk of car), no cup holder (but I bought a great one at Babies R US for $6), rear of seat of this stroller is not vented when reclined- it's just solid material all the way around which doesn't allow for good air-flow on a hot day. The demo. video on the Baby Jogger website shows a different version (maybe the City Elite) with a vented seat. I bought this one thinking the seat was vented, but was disappointed that wasn't the case... Other than that one feature that I would've liked, this stroller is Great! It is a much better value than BOB and has just as many features. I'm very satisfied with my Baby Jogger. Also- it has a jump seat that you can purchase if you have a baby and a toddler and don't like the bulk of an enormous double stroller.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big, but good!, November 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was really unsure about this stroller because of the size. I contemplated returning it for the smaller "mini", but liked the idea of an "all-terrain" stroller. I have to say that after 2 months of owning it, I could not be happier with my stroller. The swivel/straight front wheel option is great. This stroller pushes great and I can easily control it with one hand. My baby was 8 months when I purchased this, so he was a little swallowed in it, but was much more comfortable and secure than he was in the other stroller I own. I gave this 4 stars because while the fold-down is handy and simple, it's very fast and can result in hurt fingers and toes if you're not careful... some sort of pressure mechanism to slow the folding would help.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Stroller, October 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love the way it moves. It pratically pushes itself. The wheels are a little wide when trying to get into narrow spaces, but it folds ups really easily. I was seriously considering the city mini and I am very happy I picked the city classic instead, its a more solid stroller and I love walking in the park with it.
