Solid Product
It does what it's suppose to do. I didn't really have any problems. Had to wait a bit for it to load but it works fine.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!, January 3, 2009
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
SAVE YOUR MONEY!! I cannot stress it enough.
First - the Summary (in case you need to save time) -
*Ease of Installation: Not bad, except that once installed you have to download multiple programs for it to run properly.
*DVD Ripping: Yes, it does do that
*DVD/File Conversion: Don't know, it wouldn't do it, kept giving error messages - which leads me to;
*Support: TERRIBLE! Help Menus are of NO service. Online support is non-existent.
Okay - for a bit more detail: I purchased this product, from a local store, in the hopes of being able to rip DVDs and then convert then into a usable file that an editing program will be able to handle, or to watch on my MP3 player. Well - after installing the CD, you are then required to download multiple programs - even to update to the 2009 edition (as named on the box!). While, this is NOT that intolerable, it is not what I signed up for.
After downloading all of the required software, including the "key" to allow you to bypass the Anti-Copy encryption, it did rip the DVD for me. The DVD I ripped was not encrypted, so I cannot comment on its ability to bypass the Anti-copy.
When trying to convert the files into a usable format, the program TOTALLY FAILED. I kept getting error messages, and never completed a conversion (I finally gave up after 3 days). You may be thinking, "why not use the Help Menu or look online?" . . . Well -
I feel that any Help Menu should tell me something that I do not already know about the product. It should be an actual "help". This product's Help Menu is not, in any way shape or form. When looking up help for file conversion, the help info said something to the effect of, "This will convert your files to a format to play on your Ipod or other device." (end of "help") Well, "DUH!!" I knew that already! That's why I bought the product. Online help is about the same. There is a forum, but looking through that mess at 2:00 a.m., during a fit of frustration is barely a solution.
I should mention that I am employed as an A-V tech, so I do have a vague of idea of what I am doing with this type of product. I went to an expert in my work area, who then informed me that while he has used 123CopyDVD, he does not like it, as it is "hit and miss at best". He pointed me to some online freebies that have worked wonderfully.
I tried returning this to my local store - I was informed that due to Federal Law they were prohibited from taking opened software. This is due to copyright infringement, as there is no way to know whether the software had been copied or not. It also protects the store from having to make the decision about what to take back and which not. I can appreciate that. I'm not an unreasonable person. However, where is the protection for the consumer from getting a substandard product (which, of course, you don't know until you OPEN the package), and then being stuck holding the bag for $50?
I am now waiting to hear from BlingSoftware about a full refund (as they say on their box). However, since they're located in Gibraltar (and based on what I have heard in other reviews), I am NOT holding my breath.
AVOID THIS PRODUCT!
-----------------------------------
Addition - I have since heard back from Bling Software (quite quickly, I might add) and they have given me the info on how to return the software. It has been sent & I am now waiting for my actual refund (up to 60 days from receipt of the disk). I will keep you posted.
-----------------------------------
Additional Comment - I have received my refund check from Bling Software - earlier than I was expecting. So I am happy with the service that I received. I hope that they are able to improve their product. They are doing their best to be descent. I wish them success.

Save your money...read the real reviews by "real" people on here, July 18, 2009
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I would avoid a product from a company where they use employees to pad their review ratings. I noticed that 5 reviews written on February 24, 2009 for this product not only sounded fake but were written by people who only reviewed products by Bling Software. Come on...Five 5-star reviews all on the same day with very "bland" and general statements? They should be ashamed of themselves. I would avoid buying products like this.

Doesn't work, just like everybody else is saying, January 5, 2010
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I bought this from the base exchange to convert my DVDs to iPod before I went on deployment. The program did not work for any of my dozens of DVDs. The support I got from the website sent me a link to update my program and that did not work either.
Save your money and just download DVDdecrypter, DVDShrink and handbrake for free or buy something else recommended from a trusted source like "maximumPC magazine's 32 must-have programs" (google it) or cnet.
Bottom line is this product doesn't work and is a waste of money.

SAVE YOUR MONEY, December 30, 2009
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
Undoubtedly one of the worst programs to rip off the public. After many downloads and updates, the program still wont do as expected. There is no help booklet and trying to get someone over the internet is a joke. I cannot stress it enough not to
even consider this ill faded program....and FRYS HAD BETTER RETURN MY MONEY or my last trip will be to that store. They had
better take the product off the shelves and do some investigating on products sold before putting them out to their faithful
and trusting customers. What a joke and it cost even more at Frys than it does buying it from the rip off artists. Fifty
buck should qualify me as being robbed.

Don't get the download version, December 24, 2009
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I found out the hard way.........they have no support. i purchased the download, only to find out that when i upgraded from vista to windows 7 that the program no longer worked.
I expected that so i got out my unlock key and went to the link to re-download the software, spent about an hour going through everything, then when i typed in the produck key.........the message came up "no more activationd availabe, purchase a new license"
I emailed and emailed and emailed, with no response, no phone number listed to call, so i mailed them a usps letter.three months and still no reply.
So it works pretty good as long as you do not play to upgrade or change computers. Or if your hard drive crashes....then you have to buy a new copy i guess.
No response, means no future business from me.

Not bad, Not great, March 29, 2009
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I purchased this after my free trial of Slyfox dvd copy expired and they wanted me to purchase it for 70 some odd dollars. After using this a few times I wish I would have purchased the Slyfox program. This one works well with most dvds but there are a few that just wont copy, and several that wont play on most dvd players after they have been copied. Most of the time we have to steal the boys PS3 and hook it to the projector to be able to watch them. It does work nicely for transfering moving to the kids PSP and Ipod which is great for long trips in the car.

Cannot copy any DVD, March 5, 2010
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I can't believe cNET gave this a good review, this software is useless. It says on the box: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 but once you install it, its an older version and you have to download the software that was supposed to come on the disc. Back to the subject of this program being completely useless, it can only copy or rip some dvds,BUT, when you rip a dvd it will fail at 80% saying cannot complete because another program is running,uh WHERE. And when you copy a dvd it will fail at 99% which will make it playable only on computers and not home dvd players. Also when you rip a dvd and go to play the file the sound will become out of sync throughout. And any of the supposed updates online don't cure anything and there is basically no technical support. This product is a waste of money and you will NOT be satisfied.

Horrible program...more bad reviews then good...., January 13, 2010
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I agree with all the bad reviews. This program stinks. There is more bad reviews then good so that should tell you something.
My experience with 123 CopyDVD Gold 09' is, now I had this program for a good 3 months. The installation was a joke. You have to install a bunch of different other updates and programs from the internet for it to run correctly. I primarly used the program for my ipod touch. I was having some problems converting some Disney movies, The whole Dexter seasons, most of the Lost seasons and a few great movies. I went to the website for support (there is no help button in the program itself) and the websites links don't work, their forums won't let you post new posts on most of their boards so you have to search around for a board that's open to post. After I found a board to post on I explained the problem and got a response from a member a few hours later that told me to update my version because the program doesn't have an automatic update feature. After 2 days I posted to my post again saying that it didn't work and could I get someone from 123 CopyDVD gold to help me and here is what they responded to me :
"There is no reason to respond to an issue if CBR (the member that helped me)has already replied with an appropriate response to your inquiry.
You have stated that the program was previously working, so it is probably a issue with the particular DVD or series. Also I would suggest downloading the 2010 trial to see if this alleviates the issue, as we are no longer working on 2009 updates."
There are so many people on the forum that hate the program and think that 123 CopyDVD admin are stopping updates for 2009 and earlier just so you have to buy newer versions. IMO this program stinks and take my advice, try a different program because this ones a waste of money.

I got fooled also!, April 6, 2010
This review is from: 123 Copy DVD Gold 09 (CD-ROM)
I saw this product at Staples it looked like what I wanted to back up my DVD collection so I bought it without checking the reviews, big mistake it will not let me even copy my personal photos to a CD to make a slide show. I thought by buying this product I would avoid downloading viruses that some of the online products come with, I think I would rather have the virus! This preogram sucks and I can't find my receipt to send it back to the publisher. I guess it could have been an even more expensive lesson.
