Good Economic laptop of sony vaio series , December 6, 2008
I have a headache earlier on with the laptop. As the lap arrived,i tried to boot the system but it got stucked on windows processing screen. So there was some problem with the installation of OS, but thanks to sony customer support i could find the hidden partition of recovery to reinstall the OS and now its working fine.
But still i will recommend sony to please provide Recovery discs with laptop itself so that in any case the buyer might not face any problem.
In use i have faced just one more problem till now.
During use (till now)the laptop got freezed twice and i had to push the power button to get it out of that deadlock, but i think that was courtsey of MS Window vista rather than sony vaio.
Otherwise the system truely rocks!!!
The sound is truley dolby & much better relative to Dell Inspiron or any other lap i have used till now.
4 gb pre-installed RAM really helps as it never let me feel that i am using MS Vista OS in terms of response time.
Screen is really good as from any angle the view is much better relative to other laps in the same cost range.
Finally My Recommendation : Go for this vaio, if you can't afford any higher range(price) vaios.Had i not faced problem earlier on i would have given it 5 star rating rather than 4 star rating.

great computer, June 19, 2009
We've had this computer for about 6 months now, and have had no problems whatsoever. It is fast, it is attractive and it's a great value. It's perfect for all of our needs. I would recommned this to anyone. Most of the sony programs that come pre-installed are basically useless as far as im concerned, but, oh well, we just don't use them. One thing that was questionable at first is that the computer doesn't come with windows OS disks incase you have to reload windows, but it turns out that you make your own as this information is stored on a sperate part of the hard drive, which unfortunately takes up some memory, but once you make the disks you can re-format and access all of the memory. The only downside being is of course, if you start saving things before you reformat, you will loose all of that info.

Great Laptop for a great price, December 26, 2008
This is a great laptop that I got off of amazon for $799. Without a doubt it was a great buy. I have absolutely no complaints with this laptop at all. It looks great, has good memory, sound, and a good hard drive. I was between this laptop and a toshiba at best buy, but i've really just been impressed by other sony laptops in the past so i went with this one. I really have no complaints about this laptop at all, except that the windows cds didn't come with it--that will be inconvenient if i ever have to reformat the hard drive. the price on the laptop has gone up since i bought it, but i would still say this laptop is worth it.
