Not All Created Equal
I second the praise others have left for nasal rinsing in general. I suffer from severe allergies, and this has helped orders of magnitude more than anything else. If your nose is so clogged that your antihistamine spray can't work properly, this is the product for you.
It also helps tremendously in the allergen avoidance department. I love being outdoors,...

Not the same as SinuCleanse
I have been using the SinuCleanse salts for some time now. I love salt packets because they make the netipot process so much simpler, so I'm willing to put out the money. The NeilMed salts were the only ones available at my local drugstore, so I bought them in lieu of my usual. I find these salts are much harsher on my nose, even though they say a single packet is the...

Not All Created Equal, February 25, 2009
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I love being outdoors, but am highly allergic, so I do an extra rinse after a hike and it hardly has time to affect me, when I used to have a huge post-hike crash.
I want to add a word about NeilMed packets specifically. I bought a box of store brand refills thinking it couldn't be any different. I was completely wrong. The store brand was uncomfortable in my nose, and left a bad taste in my mouth that ruined the flavor of food all day for me. I threw out the rest of the box and bought NeilMed refills. They are very comfortable in my nose, and leave only a slight tear-like salty taste in my mouth, if any, which quickly dissipates and doesn't ruin the taste of food at all.

Reduces snoring, April 30, 2009
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I had read about and researched the Netipot and all the claims about using it. So I purchased a netipot and a NeilMed Sinus Rinse Bottle. The NeilMed bottle is much easier and less mess. I had used it for about 3 days when my husband desided he wanted to try one (I had bought one for each of us...no sharing). He did not like the sensation and said that he was not going to use it again. Well, that night he did not snore. Best sleep I have had in years. The next night he DID use it again (with slight urging from me). I can always tell when he has not used it in a couple days because I cannot hear the TV over his racket. BEST product I have bought in a very long time. The NeilMed pre-mix packets are great for either the netipot or NeilMed bottle. No burning. And there is no residual smell like there is after using the packets that came with the Netipot. I have since bought a set for my mom and sister. 9 more are on order for me to have on hand.

The first thing that has really worked for post nasal drip., December 24, 2009
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I have been trying everything I could think of to relieve my chronic sinus problems. Over the years, I've been able to get to the point where I don't get the full blown sinus infection and fever, but I am usually miserable from Dec. - Feb. and I have the lower grade of sinus problems the rest of the year. This year the post nasal drip became so bad that I was unable to sleep again. The next stage is that it goes into my chest and it's always down hill from there. A friend at work recommended the Neilmed nasal rinse. I bought it and started using it twice a day for the last 25 days. I noticed improvement immediately and after three days, my sinues felt better than they had in years. I have had no post nasal drip for the last 25 days of December. This has allowed me to get more sleep and has improved my general health overall. I haven't tried this with a sinus infection or with a cold, so I don't know how it will work under those conditions, but I can say for sure, in my case, it has eliminated the post nasal drip problem, which always leads to more serious complications for me. It takes a few minutes to prepare the solution and to clean the bottle twice a day, but it has been a small price to pay for the relief it has provided. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Saved me money on decongestants, March 16, 2009
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
My allergist recommended that I rinse my sinuses 2 or 3 times a day for chronic rhinitis related to allergies. I had been taking over the counter strong decongestants daily for 6 to 8 months at a time. Since using the NeilMed salt packets I have not needed oral decongestants at all. At first the solution was stronger than the product I was using before called SinuCleanse. However, the NeilMed is far superior than SinuCleanse and is better at keeping me breathing freely. My sinus health has improved in ways I never thought possible. Recently I had the symptoms of a cold that usually would have taken root, but not with this product! I was back to normal in 24 hours or less. Thanks to others who provided useful feedback on this wonderful product!

Not the same as SinuCleanse, April 22, 2010
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I have been using the SinuCleanse salts for some time now. I love salt packets because they make the netipot process so much simpler, so I'm willing to put out the money. The NeilMed salts were the only ones available at my local drugstore, so I bought them in lieu of my usual. I find these salts are much harsher on my nose, even though they say a single packet is the "isotonic," milder washing dose. SinuCleanse recommends using a half packet of their salts in this case (also reduces the salty irritation), but when I tried this with the NeilMed salts, my sinuses got totally swollen! I wish they had written the ratio of salt to baking soda on the box like other salt packets, but I guess this is "patented" by the company.

Fast but affects my ears, April 18, 2010
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I agree with others that this system is a fast and effective system; far faster than using a Neti pot, which I continue to be a fan.
I have one problem with this system that I stopped me from using it more frequently; there was too much pressure to my Eustachian tubes. This nasal rinse requires some amount of pressure to squeeze the solution upwards into your sinuses. This pressure, for me, even the lightest I could manage, too often caused my ears to get a full "swimmers ear" feeling. While my sinuses felt better quickly, the hollow ear feeling was an uncomfortable side effect.
The Neti pot never has affected my ears in this same way, so I continue to use it instead of the squeeze bottles, but still use the Neti pot with the saline packets included with this kit.

Highest recommendation, April 20, 2009
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I have found the Sinus Rinse bottle and the packets to be extremely effective in clearing my sinuses and helping to minimize the effects of an impending cold. The process of irrigating your sinuses has the potential to be life altering. I know that sounds over the top, but it ranks up there with exercise as the healthiest thing you can do for yourself. At least if you have sinus problems like I do.

Works good but small packets, February 2, 2009
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
This product works OK as advertised and is gentle to the nose lining. Very similar to others available on Amazon. The only draw back is that the individual packets are very small. So when your comparing products check the packet contents sizes.

lifesaver, July 16, 2010
This review is from: NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
The NeilMed Sinus Rinse packets are an excellent way to keep me from getting sinus infections. Nasal irrigation is a very important part of my daily routine. I am greatly appreciative of the Amazon Subscribe and Save program that makes it so easy to get these at a very good price.
