My son loves this chair. It's simple, he can carry it around if he wants and it's a frog "ribbit". However he has NO idea how to sit on it. He either sits sideways or I have to help him straddle over those big eyes. Once he's sitting his legs are very spread apart, he just looks uncomfortable. Very cute and almost perfect, January 6, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Potty, Froggy Friend (Baby Product)
I purchased this potty chair for my third son. I knew from previous experience that I wanted a simple design with smooth edges and the splash guard built in. I had previously purchased the Baby Bjorn one piece thinking it would be the one. After getting it home I quickly realized it was WAY to small, unless you are potty training your 6 month old, my son is 18 months and 29lbs. I was happy when I found the Fisher Price Froggy Potty. It has the great simple design that I had wanted and the splash guard was built in. The base is nice and wide which makes it stable and has handles on the side for your little one. There is also a handle on the back that makes it easy it pick up in one piece it move for cleaning. The blue bowl lifts out to make cleaning a breeze. My only complaint was that there should be some rubber grips on the bottom so that it will not slide across the floor. I cut out a piece of non slip liner and placed it under the potty, problem solved. I would recommend this potty to friends.

Just what I was looking for, March 29, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Potty, Froggy Friend (Baby Product)
This is the 4th training potty that I purchased for my son. I knew that my husband would give me a hard time about it, but this time I knew I'd finally found the right one and it IS.
1. Simple two-piece design with smooth curves and built-in splash guard. Do NOT ever waste your money on a potty with a removable splash guard if you have a boy. It's easy to empty and easy to clean.
2. Nice big bowl-- if your kid is sitting on the potty, then everything's going to go where it's supposed to go. No messes.
3. It's a FROG! My son LOVES it! We also have the regular Bjorn potty and it is just as good (just a lot more money). But it's plain and boring and my son didn't get excited about it. With the frog, he WANTS to use it. We were finally able to kick-start the process. Now we use the frog downstairs and the Bjorn upstairs and it works great. If I'd found this sooner, we would have TWO frogs!

Thrilled!, March 9, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Potty, Froggy Friend (Baby Product)
I never thought I'd be thrilled over a potty chair, but I am. My two year old grandson lives with me. He's a big boy for his age. From the age of 18 months I've been trying to find a potty chair that fits him. Usually the splash guards are too low or he's just not comfortable on the chair. I tried at least five different potty chairs with no success. He refused to sit on any of them long enough to do anything. Then, I found the potty frog at Target for $12.99. To me it looked too small and low for him, but I thought what the heck, I'll buy it and if it doesn't work I'll return it. After I got the potty frog home my grandson sat on it right away with his clothes on! He didn't want to get off of it. I did manage to get his diaper off and he immediately sat and peed in it. WOW! We've only had it a couple of months and he's already done number 2 several times and potties in the potty frog at least once a day at his request. I often find him sitting on the potty frog with his clothes on reading a book. That's how comfortable it is. It's also easy to empty and clean. I recommend this potty chair highly and especially for any child who's big for their age.

frog eyes are HUGE!, September 6, 2009

My son loves this chair. It's simple, he can carry it around if he wants and it's a frog "ribbit". However he has NO idea how to sit on it. He either sits sideways or I have to help him straddle over those big eyes. Once he's sitting his legs are very spread apart, he just looks uncomfortable. He's very big for his age, 17 months old- 33lbs and 3'2 in tall. When he tries to get off of the seat he "racks" himself. His knees are bent so that they look like they are in his face, the seat is short. I'm not sure if the site has measurements, but double check! The price is OK, but seeing as we can't use it properly, it's a waste for us. I'll be buying something taller, with absolutely NO obstacles! Something he can just sit on without having to spread his legs at the same time hes having to backup to it and sit. I'm working on just sitting him on the big toilet for now on a cars toilet seat cover (which also has many flaws) I hope this helps make your decision! I always rely on these reviews! Then again, I bought mine off this site because of all the positive reviews! LOL the irony...good luck with your training!

too big of a straddle, June 25, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Potty, Froggy Friend (Baby Product)
Although I think it's very cute and easy to clean, I need to get a different potty chair. My 2 year old is very uncomfortable sitting on it for a period of time due to the awkward front. It's so big of a straddle that he tends to sit way back and as soon as he poops, its smeared all over the back of the seat as well as his behind. The eyes scratch off too.

A DREAM COME TRUE!!!, April 20, 2010
After reading the reviews of many potty seats, I decided to buy this frog potty. My son is a big 2 year old and wouldn't fit on just any potty. He is over 38 1/2 inches tall and weighs about 37 pounds. This potty is simply perfect. It is easy for him to sit on as well as not worry about any splashes on the floor. The eyes on the frog are high enough to cover any mistakes a boy may normally have on a standard potty. He even told grandma that she must get a frog for her house. Within a week or so of having the frog in our home, he is already going on his own to the potty. Thanks again for making my potty training days a whole lot easier!!!

First time out; HUGE mess!, February 23, 2010
I'm currently potty training my 3rd boy. The potty chair we had previously was much "fancier" with the transition lid that could also be placed on a full size toilet, and that was awful to keep clean. This time around I was on the hunt for something that was all one piece, smooth, and very easy to clean. The froggy potty is definitely all of those things. This one was also way less expensive than any of the others; I was thrilled! We've been working on potty training for well over a week now, and my little guy has been using a small padded seat on the toilet. But, I have to help him on and off, and a lot of his accidents have been because he just doesn't want to tell me he needs to go. I was hoping that with this one he would be able to do it all by himself. He insists that I leave the room when he's 'going', so, after showing him the new Froggy Potty and helping him sit down the right way (those HUGE eyes make sitting a bit difficult), I left the room and stood outside the door. A few seconds later my little guy tearfully called to me, "Momma, I pee on floor!" I walked back into the bathroom and found it literally FLOODED with pee. So much for the incredible splash guard. I think the problem is that the guard doesn't curve over at the top at all, and the pee just goes right up and over the top. NOT impressed. I'm now leaning towards trying the Baby Bjorn, hopefully we'll have better luck.

best one for boys - also good for girls, February 6, 2010
I'm potty training boy/girl twins right now, and we have three different styles of potty chairs (this froggy one, a stepstool/potty chair/toilet seat style, and an old under-the-seat bucket style). I agree with the other reviewer - this one is by far the best for boys. (Also great for girls - we have the pink version, too.)
I delayed my son's potty training because the little cup on his other potty chair made him seem so cramped & uncomfortable. I also had to watch him every minute to make sure he was still "in position" and wouldn't spray all over the room. My son saw this potty chair in a store and wanted it, so I decided to give it a try. Within a week, he was dry more than half the time. The design forces him to sit in the right position so he'll always hit the front wall. He can sit on it by himself as long as he wants, and I never have to worry about whether he's going to miss and make a mess.
Another thing I hated about potty training was the disgusting crevices that I had to clean out. The bowl on this potty chair is smoothly contoured and completely seamless. There is no place for germs to collect. Even the handles are all one piece with the bowl, and I can lift the whole thing out & dump it without getting my fingers anywhere close to the mess.
This doesn't have the bells & whistles of one of the three-in-one that I bought. There's no stepstool, and it doesn't transition to a toilet seat. But the other one just didn't work for my son, so it was pointless to buy it.
My daughter was using a hand-me-down bucket style chair that was just plain gross to clean. It seemed like she was uncomfortable on it, too. I let her pick her own new chair, and she chose the pink version of this one. That was a week ago, and she has been dry all day for several days now. I think it's just a lot more comfortable and fun for the kids to use.

I hate potty training...., August 18, 2010
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Potty, Froggy Friend (Baby Product)
I have been actively trying to potty train my son now for 6 months. He's now 3.5 years old. I followed all the advice about waiting till he's ready, go at his pace, being patient, looking for readiness queues, etc. So at the first sign of rediness I purchased the Summer 3 Stage Potty Trainer potty when he was 18 months. On his first try the pee hit the splash guard and squirted upward make a huge mess and terrifying my son. And to make matters worst he nicked himself on the splash guard when he tried to get up. He then decides that the potty is very bad and absolutely refused to sit again. So as all experts agreed (ie. 4 family members and 1 pediatrician) that we should delayed potty training.
He turned 3 years old and I came to the realization that my son was never going to voluntary use the potty because 1 the pull-ups kept him dry and comfortable and 2 his younger brother was in diapers so naturally he wanted to be in diapers. So I decided to give it another go and bought the BABYBJÖRN Little Potty's this time the potty was too small. So I bought the Target brand potty chair also too small and messy. Next purchase was Diego 3 in 1 potty but the guard was too low so the pee went all over the floor. I also bought toilet ring to fit on the toilet and a step and another potty that sings which didn't work either. Bought dinosaur stickers and created Dino potty - that failed miserably. No amount of coaxing, praising nor bribing worked.
So finally I purchased froggy potty. Now I am not going to tell you this worked like a charm and he's all trained because we are still locked in constant battle. But I am going to tell you that this is the only one I can live with. As you can gather I have tried a good cross section of what's available on the market. But this one suits my needs for stability and easy clean up. There are no extraneous parts to nick and scratch him and the "eye" splash guard works well. Its comfortable and allows him to sit in a squat like fashion that he prefers.
So what's working? Throwing out the pull-ups, taking a week off from work, letting him go commando and having the froggy potty handy - one in the bathroom and one in the van. Oh yeah lots and lots of disinfectant for little accidents. Finally a step in the right direction.

Pink Froggy makes potty time fun., April 15, 2010
My daughter is a very independent two year old and potty training has to be on her terms. The Pink Froggy Potty has made potty time fun. She was intimidated by the big toilet. Pink Froggy's cute playful expression is so engaging that my little girl wanted to try it out right away. She is so proud of the success her and her little friend Froggy have had together... and so am I.
