5.0 out of 5 stars Glad I found this!
The "newborn napper" feature is what sold me. I was trying to decide between a pack n play and a bassinet, so when I saw that Graco had combined the two, I knew I found the right product. The "napper" is a great height for having the baby sleep alongside our bed. With practice, I'm able to reach my daughter in the middle of the night without even getting out of bed. The...

This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
When I first saw the added features of a bassinet and changing table, I thought that this pack n play was perfect. We kept this product in our family room when my daughter was a newborn. It made it much easier to be able to change her diaper and put her to sleep without having to walk to the other side of the house. But there was one problem. The changing table, though a great idea, did not work from the day we brought her home. When I placed her on the changing table, it would lean to the side and she would go rolling. She was by no means a heavy baby (7 lbs 2 oz), so this was not the issue. It was just bad design. The changing table is only attached to the pack n play on one side. After trying to make it work for about a week, we just detached the changing table and used the plastic cover on the pack n play surface to change her diaper. On the other hand, the bassinet was amazing. She slept very well in it and it had the added bonus of vibrating and having white noise that could play while she slept. Though I did not like that the white noise was on a timer and would turn off. Overall, I liked the convenience of being able to stay in our family room to do pretty much everything that she needed, but I think they need to refine their design a little.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glad I found this!, March 31, 2009
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
The diaper stacker and wipes holder is just the right sized for a stack of diapers and a pack of wipes. I didn't put it together so I can't comment on the assembly. It has the two wheels, so I'm able to move it around pretty easily. Even if the napper feature is only used occasionally, I think this is a pretty useful product for the price. Keep in mind that although the weight limit for the napper isn't that low, its still a bassinet and baby will probably outgrow it quickly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Concept, Works Fine, Not Such a Value, June 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
Like many others, we purchased this playard primarily because of 1) Newborn Napper 2)Cute Colors/Pattern & 3) Graco Reputation for being an industry leader.

In hindsight, I'd purchase another Graco playard, probably just the[...]version with a bassinet as recommended by Baby Bargains (8th Edition & previous)OR purchase the inexpensive version with napper available at Walmart. I think that inexpensive napper version is less gender neutral, more feminine though. I should have listened to Baby Bargains but, the concept of having a newborn napper option was too much to pass up.

Pros:
1) Newborn Napper, and bassinet for baby when he outgrows napper
2) Changing Station, sturdy enough
3) Great Color Pattern

Shortcomings:
1) Price, all the bells and whistles do not justify [...] for this playard. At this price, go for a Chicco for quality of materials & wheeled travel bag
2) Diaper Stacker is quite wimpy. The $190 version of this playard with a 'swept' frame & 'baby basics' organizer in lieu of stacker is much nicer.
3) Napper Canopy, I don't know why they even included this but, know that I'm paying for it as the Walmart version comes sans canopy
4) Lights, sounds, vibration features- not impressive. Again, Chicco playard bests Graco on this front

Overall
If you're in love with this pattern & have to have the napper, you won't be disappointed. Just know that there are seemingly better quality playards out there for the price. And if you think about it long and hard, remember that you're just pretty much buying this for the function of a playard with bassinet. You can save a lot of money with a less expensive Graco model.

4.0 out of 5 stars good overall, May 1, 2009
By Bouddhableu (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
I chose this particular Pack'n'Play because I liked the color, but at the time I also liked the idea of the newborn napper. I have never used the newborn napper as it seems safer to put my baby in the actual bassinet while he is sleeping. It is quite a hassle (for me anyway) to install and uninstall, so it went right into the closet and there it has stayed. The unit itself is nice though and my baby seems to like sleeping in it.
P.S. If you are looking for a sheet to put on the bassinet matress, the American Baby Company 100% Cotton Percale Porta-Crib Sheet fits it very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Newborn napper great!!!, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
Both my husband and I loved this for our little baby girl. Granted, it was hard to put together, but once up, it was great. We had her sleep in the newborn napper in the room with us until she was 3 months old and she loved it. It created a nice, warm, snug and safe environment for her. We transitioned her to the flat sleeper and then to her crib at 3 months. We will use the pack and play for a travel bed and a safe place for her once she is more mobile. We were very happy with this and I liked it much better than the pack and plays with "bassinets".

5.0 out of 5 stars Best on the market!, May 26, 2009
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
I am pregnant with my fourth child and have used a few different play yards from a couple of different manufacturers. I needed a new one for my upcoming arrival to keep downstairs in the living room. I was initially attracted to this particular pack 'n play because of the newborn napper. I am quite impressed! Putting the entire thing together was very easy and it took about 10 minutes from start to finish (I'm sure having previous experience with pack 'n plays helped- I only had to figure out how to assemble the changing station and newborn napper). The construction is sturdy and durable. I think the newborn napper is an excellent idea. It will cradle the baby perfectly and looks very comfortable! I'm expecting to get about 3 months use out of the napper, as it is truly meant for a newborn who is not yet able to roll over. The Broadstreet print is, in my opinion, gender neutral as it is an aqua color with brown and off white. Some may prefer it for boys, but I think the colors work well for a girl(so long as you're not looking for a "girly" style). I am very happy with this pack 'n play and I'm looking forward to using it. It is definitely the best pack 'n play for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Napper cannot be used without the pack n play!, November 23, 2009

I like this pack n play. The changing table is fine. Another review mentioned that it tilts and her baby rolls. Mine tilts a bit as well, but we've gotten better at adjusting the baby so he's not rolling around. This pack n play was easy to put together.
I got this one because I liked the napper concept. However, I was under the impression that you could detach the napper and use it elsewhere. That is not the case. The napper "hangs" inside the pack-n-play, so if you take it off and lay it on the floor, it loses its shape. This is the only reason I gave this product 4 stars, not 5. It would have been nice if you could take the napper off and use it somewhere else. That aside, the pack n play is great. My newborn loved the napper, and we removed it at about 5 weeks to allow him to sleep on the flat surface of the bassinet insert.

5.0 out of 5 stars live saver!, March 31, 2010
By T. Thiel (Arizona) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
This pack n play has been a life saver for us. After an unexpected c section I was not able to go up and down stairs for a few weeks. Our master bedroom is on the main floor and baby's room on the second floor. Obviously this was not going to work. We put this pack n play in our bedroom and our little guy sleeps and is changed in it. My baby was 8lb 8oz and the changing table feature has never been a problem. He's never rolled to the center and the changing table has never sagged with is weight. He's very cozy in the napper and sleeps well at night. Plus the sounds and vibrations are great as well and can be use with or without the timer feature. The only downside to this pack n play is that the newborn napper is really tough to install and get out. So if you need to move the pack n play it's kind of a pain if you have the napper installed. The canopy that comes with it is useless but we really like the wipes and diaper holder. Overall I would totally buy this pack n play again and would recommend it to friends.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy, February 10, 2010
By Carolina Mom (Havelock, NC) - See all my reviews
I loved the design but not worth the price. I thought the concept of changing, sleeping, would be perfect. We keep this down stairs because we have a two story house. Wish I would of paid a little more and bought a Chicco.
1. Like others my baby rolls inward when put into the changing table. Also the changing table can only be on one side with the diapers which means you can only place it so many ways.
2. The play yard bottom has a wrinkle/ crease which I have to be careful where to place baby without rolling.
3. The sleeping part was great with the vibrating to sooth baby but the bed doesn't come apart to wash.
