perfect for a keychain, just a little bigger than a AAA battery. I put energizer lithium batteries in mine and I don't think I'll ever need to change it. Liked it so much I bought one for 6 relatives as gifts. Bright little sucker for it's size.

If you've ever had a $5 Nichia key chain button light, chances are you already know how bright the E01 is. Its not super bright, but definitely usable. Main difference between this and the cheaper Nichia buttons, is that this is not a throw away. Its battery life is far superior to the button type, and since its a twist On instead of a press & hold On, its not a pain to use. And obviously it is considerably more durable and waterproof. The Nichia LED in the E01 does have a slight bluish-purple tint to it, but I've also noticed this is a common trait among Nichia LED's, and not a fault of Fenix, however the tint is less pronounced in the E01 than other Nichia LED's I've used.

Its also able to stand on its end, so it can be used as a candle, and surprisingly puts out enough light to illuminate an average sized bedroom in total darkness.

Other than for a key chain, I wouldn't hesitate to keep one or two in an Emergency First Aid kit, in the vehicle, or for kids that are afraid to walk around the house at night.

Overall, for $12, you can't go wrong.
