Getting there...but needs a bit more work
Well, I guess I'm the first 3 star review for this baby.
I picked it up at Best Buy for $225 (or I would have rated it two stars; $299 is TOO MUCH for the skimpy extra feature set).
Great picture, Sound (but isn't that a minimal expectation?)
Faster than my Memorex bargain basement bluray player...or so I thought

Since most people would already have their home theater set up through a nice sound system the addition of Pandora to the player is perfect. The quality of the picture and sound are as good as any other player I have seen (LG, Sony, Panasonic, Sharp)or heard. The load time is not fast but it isn't so slow that you get impatient. I highly recommend this model to anyone looking for a full-featured blu-ray player.

-----Last night while watching Public Enemies, I paused the film for 5 minutes, and could not UNPAUSE/play the disc. I tried every option, and finally had to shut the player off.
Due to the player being sluggish accepting remote control commands, it simply froze up.
I had to turn it off/back on, and then had to reload the disc (pretty darn slow), and couldn't just restart where i left off, so it was a 10 minute ORDEAL to get back to the spot in the movie where I had paused originally.
***NOTE TO SAMSUNG ENGINEERS*** a firmware update would be nice.
Oh, and speking of firmware updates; DON'T USE THE WIFI OPTION TO UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. It took my player OVER AN HOUR to update/reset the player when I allowed it to update over WiFi.
Have used Pandora and YouTube.
WEIRD PANDORA quirk----it drops audio for 1 second between songs. Kind of unpleasant when listening to music...

I really don't understand why there are so many negative reviews on CNET for this player. I guess some were due to operator error, or maybe some of them purchased refurbished units. Anyway, this is my first Blu Ray player. I bought it from B&H for $219, and I absolutely love it!
First off, I heard many people complained that Blu Ray players are slow to load, so the first thing I did was to check out how fast it loaded, and to my surprise, it was not slow at all, maybe a few seconds longer than a traditional DVD player.
The feature I loved the most is the wireless streaming, not only the WiFi setup is a breeze (I use WPA2PSK with a NetGear AP), but the streaming speed is impressive. With 802.11A/G wireless connection, the player typically takes about 10-15 seconds to load a HD movie from NetFlix. PC streaming setup is straightforward as long as you understand how Windows file sharing works. I have a Windows 7 PC at home, and had no problem accessing the shared folder.
The picture quality of Blu Ray is top notch, so is the audio quality. My unit is plugged into my Onkyo TX-SR705 via a HDMI cable. The HD streaming from NetFlix is decent, close to 720p quality.
The only problem I ran into was the maximum resolution of PC streaming was nowhere to be found in the user manual, and I had to Google it out. Turned out the max resolution that could be played on this player is about 848x480.
All and all this is a great Blu Ray player. If you buy it online, make sure you buy it from a reputable vendor, and make sure you are not buying a refurbished unit.

I bought it at Best Buy on sale 225.00 plus 10 % off. Had a little trouble getting started but finally managed through it. Firmware took 10 mins to download through WIFI. Netflix works really good with this unit. All of my house is wireless and this unit works just fine. (linksys router N ) This unit has everything you need to go wireless. If your looking for other products to compare make sure it say WIFI on the box. Our plasma TV is also a Samsung and the remotes no need to program them.

Recently purchased my unit at Best Buy and while the Blu Ray player worked just fine, I bought it for it's internet streaming capability which never functioned properly. The unit would not connect to internet and despite the fact that I have laptops working flawlessly around my house, Samsung support blamed the router as the problem.
Stay away from this product because when you check other reviews you will see everyone having the same problem. I went back to the store and one of the more techie sales guys told me that they had stacks of these units coming back after Christmas. Even the Samsung support chick told me that set-up problems and dropped IP coonections were to be expected and I should be prepared to reboot my router AND modem when using this unit; "it is not a smart device" she told me.
Run, and run very fast away from Samsung.
Signed,
On the side lines until someone has a proven wireless WiFi unit.

I got this player because of it's Netflix and Pandora capabilities. This player has never failed me at all. The initial set-up and firmware upgrade was a little challenge, nevertheless I got through it just fine. The moment the player was connected to the wifi the firmware upgrade automatically prompted. Understanding the manual and following it correctly is crucial.
It's wifi capability greatly depends on the seed subscription. I have the most basic plan from verizon, nevertheless my wifi works just fine with this player. I already have around 5 gadgets hooked up to it including this one. (The walls is one great factor that slows down wifi speed.)
Hooking this up to a home network requires a little computer knowledge. Setting this up is done not only in the player but in the pc as well.
A better choice player form me because of it's price, features and speed, set up however is for the techy.

I bought the BD-P3600 after researching the units extensively and subscribing to Netflix. The value is terrific, especially since it includes the wireless LAN adapter. The set-up was quick and easy and the connection to the internet through my 802.11n wireless router has been solid, reliable and smooth in the delivery of both video and audio. Being able to stream video over the internet is especially convenient and seems to be just as high quality as using a DVD. The no-cost Pandora internet radio is habit forming and I find myself using it all day while working around the house. Pairing the blu-ray player with my Samsung television is even better because they recognize each other and work together to deliver the best possible audio/video experience. Absolutely no problems with the unit and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for the same type of features.

This player was fantastic out of the box. The picture is clear and the sound is great.
Here were the things that inspired the 4 stars instead of 5:
* The vob file format is not supported for external drives or computer shares
* Manually configured computer shares are forgotten when you power the dvd player off
* It's a little difficult to type, but how often do you really do that on a DVD player?

I bought my unit in April 2009 and was extremely pleased with the video and sound quality. However it just abruptly died in July 2010. It was the first of my many VCR and DVD players to die so I am not naturally pleased with the outcome. I also hear that reliability may be or have been a problem with these units....Unfortunately when I read about all of the units out there in the $150 - $300 price range, the Samsung units keep coming out on top so I will probably buy another one.
The one extreme positive of the unit was the ease in which I could set up Net-Flix and and YouTube. If my next one lasts at least three years I will be very happy.
