Save your money
Please don't waste your money on this game. It is so easy that anyone who has seen the movie once could answer the questions. I think even 'tweens will be bored with it after one use. Game play moves real fast since the board is small. If you roll high, you will have a winner in about 10 minutes. The fate cards are stupid - all they do is move you ahead or behind few...

Loved Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition!, October 13, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
The newly released Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition DVD game came out on October 1st, and here's a review from a Twilight fan for Twilight fans.
First of all, if you're unfamiliar with the Scene It? game series, you should get familiar because they're incredibly fun.
The games combine the traditional realm of board games with DVD play in a way that isn't too confusing or distracting but is, instead, modern and interactive.
The Twilight version of Scene It? is catered to the 2008 film, and it incorporates clips and subtleties contained in the film - be it dialogue, scenery, or other various detail.
The game contains several of such particularized elements. For instance, the playing pieces are the shape of things like a baseball and Charlie's house. Also, the questions are orchestrated to be befitting of the most ardent and taxingly knowledgeable of Twilight fans. For instance, one question card (of hundreds) contains the following three questions (see if you can answer the questions without looking them up).
* Where does Edward say he was when the van almost hit Bella?
* What kind of sandwich does Bella have in the cafe with Charlie?
* What is the name of Bella's stepfather?
Okay, so not impossible questions necessarily but certainly fun.
As for the DVD game features, there is quite a variety (that would take hours upon end to discover the full extent of). As a sample preview, some screenshots of the game at play are included in the slideshow below. The DVD questions, too, are narrated by the one and only Peter Facinelli (Dr. Cullen in the film series).
Other aspects of gameplay run similar to the more traditional versions of Scene It? (like Scene It? The DVD Game) in that the object is substantially similar and the methods of winning and movement are the same. For those less familiar with the Scene It? series, the gist of the game is to make it to the end of the board (which happens to actually be the middle of the board) and to answer the final trivia question (or set of trivia questions, dependant on how savvy and versed you happen to be on the film's subtleties) to win.
The best part of the game is the way it has transformed Twilight (the film) while still retaining the mystical and romantic elements. You'll notice, when playing, that some of the very small - but ultra relevant to fans - portions of the game are brought to a whole new light. For instance, one question (or challenge, rather) that the DVD portion of the game offers is a "keep your eye on the ball" challenge - a play, you might've guessed, on the baseball scene. Accompanying the challenge is the music that accompanied the baseball scene in the film. Thusly, the feel and magic of the film scene is transcendant into the game itself.
The Twilight Scene It? game is also very fun to play between Twilight fans who claim to have the one-up on one another in the way of trivia knowledge. There's always something to be learned, and this game certainly raises that awareness.
The best part of the game is the absolute wealth of available questions and challenges. You might think that a two hour movie would yield limited possibilities, but the people at Scene It? definitely took the film to all new heights in putting together this game. As said, it'd probably take many, many hours to get through the thousands of questions and challenges in the game - both in the DVD form and the card question form.
As a final comment on the game, the challenges offered in it are not pandering or overly simplified. It is clear that the creators were aware, in making the game, that players would be the most acclaimed afficionados of the series. That said, it is fun for Twilight experts as well as first-time Twilight fans!

Well worth the purchase, October 11, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
I bought this game to play with my girlfriends and family that are fans of twilight. We really enjoyed playing. I was used to playing the friends scene it edition, so we compared it to that game. I will say that the game board seeemed a little small, so we dedided to go around twice to make the game last longer. Also it would have been nice to have more game tokens...there were only four, so with 12 of us playing we split into teams. It only covers Twilight and not the rest of the stories, so no worrries if you haven't finished yet. Most of the trivia pertains to the movie, not the book...but we all had a lot of fun. There was no timer for the trivia cards, the friends edition did so we had to time oursleves, but most of us are die hard fans so it wasn't that much of an issue. I also enjoyed that there were other options on there to play the game differently. When the game was over we decided to just play shuffle play and see who could shout out the answer first.

Best Gift Ever!, October 23, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
Talk about the best gift for a Twilight fan! I bought it for a friend who was so happy with it - and still is. With actual scenes from the movie, entertaining trivia, fun games and more, it was a no-brainer choice for the biggest Twilight fan I know. Plenty of screen-time for Edward, which is always appreciated :) Perfect for a Twilight-themed party or just a night at home with friends.

Save your money, October 31, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
Please don't waste your money on this game. It is so easy that anyone who has seen the movie once could answer the questions. I think even 'tweens will be bored with it after one use. Game play moves real fast since the board is small. If you roll high, you will have a winner in about 10 minutes. The fate cards are stupid - all they do is move you ahead or behind few spaces. The DVD questions are really obvious and the "games" are very easy. Oh and the "which Cullen are you" quiz is dumber than a Facebook quiz.
If you do insist on buying it, don't waste your time studying real trivia like what order the vamps bat in when they play baseball or what is written on the side of the school buses for the field trip. Nothing like that is asked. The most difficult question is what building is pictured next to the school? And the only reason that was difficult is because I never noticed it before. If you can name the actors and have seen the movie, there is absolutely no challenge to the game.
Shame on the makers for rushing this to market just to collect fan's money. We should all ask for a refund and make our own, becuase I guarentee that would be more difficult and way more fun.

Fun but not challenging and very short., November 27, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
The game is as expected from previous SceneIt games. For a Twilight fan, the game is entertaining but not challenging. The questions are not difficult, especially for anyone who has seen the movie more than once. My brother has only seen pieces and my husband sat through it once with me but they were able to get 95% of the questions. The board is disappointing as well. The original SceneIt games had three rings to go around before you reach the end, this is a single ring and with four rolls of 6 you can get around the board, so game play is short. The delux edition says it includes New Moon content, but really it is just the trailer as far as I can tell. The game contains 16 "games" which shuffle the questions up in different ways. I have been through 4 games and have not had a single New Moon related question. Overall the game is fun for Twihards and general fans alike, but I wouldn't recommend spending extra money for the delux edition. Go with the original and save a few bucks.

Twilight SceneIt? is great, December 6, 2009
Durability: Fun:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
I am a huge Twilight fan, so when I saw this game, I had to have it. I was surprised that the narration is done by Dr Carlisle Cullen, plus there's a trailer for New Moon on the DVD. The mini games are a lot of fun, and the clips and questions are the best! My family & I had a lot of fun playing this game, & I would recommend it to any Twihard looking for a great family game!

Expected More From Twilight Scene It, November 17, 2009
Durability: Fun:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
My husband bought this game for me as an early Christmas present in anticipation of the Christmas rush. I expected so much more then what I got. The game board is very small and we finished the game in about 15 minutes. There are several games too choose from but I can't see how those can be any longer since you are using the same board.I don't know if it's the shape of the dice or the way we rolled but more than half out rolls were fate cards. Which made it feel like more of a speed game then a scene it game. I think we only saw about 5 DVD questions. All in all it's an awesome purchase for the young Twilight obsessed fan in your life. For anyone older, it just goes by too fast.

Twilight Scene It? Yes...again and again., November 17, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Scene It? Twilight Deluxe Edition (Toy)
Was sooo excited to get this game. And it is pretty fun for about the first 15 to 20 minutes but then the DVD challenge part of the game does the same two challenges over and over again. Love the movie and books, so it was still worth the purchase just wish I would have waited until they maybe come out with another version of the game that includes some of the other movies too. It was just too quick of a game, I went around the entire board in about the first ten minutes but just kept going around to make it last longer.

Awesome game with lots of fun trivia. Believe it or not, there are some challenging questions that even "Twihards" have some trouble with. We played this game at a pre-release "New Moon" party and had a great time. A must-have for all Twilight fans!

If you love Twilight, you'll love this just because it's Twilight. It's easy to master and questions are pretty easy. Fun for a young girl party.
