This is actually a pretty great toy and perfect for outdoor nighttime adventures. I got this for my nephew and he absolutely loves them. 2.0 out of 5 stars EyeClops Night Vision Infared Binoculars
Not a high quality item. It will last as long as you don't drop it, since it is made of hard plastic and will break. It didn't get a whole lot of use from my daughter. I does work pretty well and dispays a somewhat clear picture in the dark. In my opinion the cost exceeds the benefit and you would be better off spending your hard earned money on something else.

This is actually a pretty great toy and perfect for outdoor nighttime adventures. I got this for my nephew and he absolutely loves them. I used the older version of the JAKKS Night Vision Goggles and those worked really well so when I saw these come out I thought hey why not. The fact that these are binoculars and not monocular make it so much easier for him to use and the neck strap allows him to just let them hang when he is not using them. This is much safer then having the googles strapped to your head. The quality is really good too. I was really impressed with this product and recommend it to any parent.

I bought the original Eyeclops Night Vision goggles. They are enjoyable just for the technology. If you have these or read the reviews of the original product you will see the pros and cons of the Eyeclops 1.

After reading the reviews of the Eyeclops V2 and for the price I paid for them I couldn't resist the temptation to buy them. I'm glad I did.

The V2 uses the same technology as the original, but has a large view screen that can be seen with both eyes. Even though there is still no depth perception due to the 2-dimensional screen you have a larger field of vision. This eliminates the dizzying disorientation experienced with the original. You still have to be careful moving around, though, because of the depth perception issue.

The V2 has all the same features of the original except this unit is hand-held like binoculars instead of the head gear that came with the original. It is also a lot easier to get out of the box unlike the original. The rubber seal around the eyes is not as form-fitting as the unit with head gear. This allows light emitted from the view screen to leak around the edges which could give you away in the dark to anyone who might be looking your way. I'm a 6' tall male and it doesn't seal all of the light from around my face.

Overall, this is a good, fun product to own. Just watch for price deals on Amazon.com for the best bargain.

I was pleasantly surprised by this toy. While I wouldn't want to have to rely on these on any real battlefield, these work great for any imaginary scenario. These goggles are much cooler than any toy that I had as a kid, and every kid should have one to play with. While the resolution is poor, the distance is actually quite good. I own an infrared flashlight, but the built-in lighting has a viewable distance of at least 100 feet and is better than my flashlight.
Impressive for under $100.

Every kid should have these!

Pros:
1) Works surprisingly well
2) Solid plastic construction
3) Adjustable focus

Cons:
1) Poor resolution, but still great for the price
2) Bulky
3) No depth perception

I don't think war is funny but I do think my son is adorable. Every time he puts these on at night in our backyard, he thinks he is protecting our country....and our dog from wild coyotes. I used them once and honestly was shocked by the fact that this is a toy and so inexpensive given the quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocked at how good it is, December 3, 2009

I bought this for my 8 year old nephew. I bought it with the full intention of trying it out at home and then returning it if it didn't work very well. I popped in the 5 AA's and shut off every light. I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. Then I flipped the device on. I could see everything! I just started laughing and walking around looking at everything.

One other review is correct. It certainly doesn't give you depth perception. Once I got used to it, that wasn't really an issue.

I would have LOVED this when I was about 8. Now I just need to find something for my niece that she will be equally excited about or I will be in trouble...

P.S. - Got it at Target for cheaper than these prices. It took a while to find a Target that had it in stock though.

I bought these for my nephew. And to tell the truth had to try them out before Christmas. Very cool! Can't believe how well these work! Sure... you don't have any depth perception but they ARE a toy. They need little to no ambient light to work. I have turned off all the lights in the house during a new moon and they work great. Only down fall I have seen is the IR does bounce off glass surfaces so you cannot lookout the window to explore. They also aren't great for anythign past 50 feet or so but it says that right on the box. In truth most night vision goggles aren't great past 100-150 in my expierience. Even with these minor flaws I still wish they would have had these when I was a kid.

Hard to believe but they are the same quality if not better than what I had when I was in the army 18 years ago. A little disappointed with the plastic design as with kids it will likely break at some point but so far I'm pleased. They didn't come with a head harness, just the around the neck strap like binoculars. For the price i'm sure it will be a hit come christmas morning.

My son got these from Santa Claus.... as soon as it was dark, he dressed in his dark long underwear and face mask (winter face gear stuff) and ran around the neighborhood spying on people. I'm hoping he wasn't trespassing. Anyway, he really loves them, and they make our overly frequent power outages even more fun. Who needs flashlights?

My 28 year old daughter purchased this as a Christmas Present for her 8 year old godson. She was unable to wrap the goggles before she tried them out. She fell in love with the goggles and then added them to her Christmas list. I then tried them and enjoyed them so much I had to add them to my list too. They seem to work great and are well worth the price.
