The power of good cookware
Purchased 4 items of Calphalon Unison cookware, Used them just a few times and now I'm addicted. Poor durability for the money
We have had the Unison cookware set for almost a year now, and I can say that I would not buy Calphalon again. Even following the instructions (slow heat-up of cookware), and using appropriate non-stick utensils, the pans look like they are 3-5 years old already. Stains on the exterior do not come off, and the non-stick coating is gouged and shows plenty of minor...

The power of good cookware, January 6, 2010
This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
Purchased 4 items of Calphalon Unison cookware, Used them just a few times and now I'm addicted. I now own the complete offering of Calphalon Unison cookware, including Utensils, Towels and Pot Holders. What a difference good cookware can do for your cooking. Also save on the amount of cookware you use. I seared a small roast on the stove top, than put it in the oven in the same pot. Also made homemade gravy (sauce) in the 8 quart stock pot, had it simmering for over 6 hours and there was no burnt sauce on the bottom of the pot. Clean up is a breeze, alittle Dawn dish detergent and a Dobie pad a couple a swirls around the inside and the outside of the Pan/Pot/Lid, rince it off, towel dry and back into the cabinet. They are also dishwasher safe. I am so glad I decided to go with the Calphalon Unison. If you are looking for a good set of cookware, don't look any further.

Poor durability for the money, May 2, 2010
This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
We have had the Unison cookware set for almost a year now, and I can say that I would not buy Calphalon again. Even following the instructions (slow heat-up of cookware), and using appropriate non-stick utensils, the pans look like they are 3-5 years old already. Stains on the exterior do not come off, and the non-stick coating is gouged and shows plenty of minor surface scratching. I realized that this is aesthetic, but for the price, I'm very disappointed. My previous cookware was Circulon Professional from Costco, which performed well and showed little wear during 3 years of use, and for 1/2 the price of this set. I'm going to be contacting Calphalon with my disappointment in their supposedly amazing product, which after I've used it, I've decided trades on it's good (temporary) looks and style, and marketing ploy (versatility) over actual quality. I wish I'd taken my money and started a set of All-Clad.

excellent!, December 27, 2009
This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
After years of low-budget pots and pans, I finally purchased the Calphalon Unison 10-piece set. They are excellent quality - no stick, easy to clean, very little oil needed to cook with - I love them!

Absolutely amazed, July 18, 2010
This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I was skeptical when the sales lady told me that I could cook a chicken breast with NO oil and that it would not stick. So the first thing I did was try it out. Amazing! This cookware came through on all it's promises. When I washed the pan, everything came off so easily. I know you can put these in the dishwasher, but I still think I will continue to hand-wash them. After using this Calphalon Unison set, I would be spoiled to use anything else.

Very poor durability., June 23, 2010
This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I have owned the 10-piece Calphalon Unison set since October 2009. Frankly, I don't cook that much. I certainly don't use the pans every day; more like twice per week. Other than a soft silicone spatula, the ONLY utensils I have used are the Calphalon ones that came with the 10-piece set as a bonus and are meant to be used with the pans. I can say that the pans have significant scratches despite the use of proper utensils. They are very nice to cook with (love the searing pans) and I like the fact that they can be put into a dishwasher but really expected far better quality for the price. I wonder how much of the surface coming off ends up in my food.........and how soon I'll be looking for a new set. It won't be Calphalon.

Lids and handles overheat, March 15, 2010
This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
My husband and I received the Calphalon Unison Nonstick set for our wedding. After years of Ikea pots & pans, I was excited to finally use good quality cookware. However, the first thing I noticed about the set was how heavy each piece was. When the pots were full, they could be hard to lift; you needed to hold them by both sides. The second thing I noticed was that the metal handles on the lids and pots & pans heated up a lot when cooking, to the point that I needed a potholder to comfortably use them. Combine that with the heaviness of the pots and the pieces became very unwieldy. We returned the set and are now looking for something lighter and better insulated. Considering how expensive the Calphalon set was, I expected much better.
