Not Your Average Shower Shoe!
If you like the ease of rubber flip flops but are smart enough to realize that flip flops offer your feet absolutely no protection or support....then these are the rubber thongs for you!
Fit Flops exploded on the scene several years ago with a marketing campaign that promised an exercized leg and a fabulously improved derriere by merely wearing a pair! Yeah,...

uncomfortable
These were very hard and hurt between my toes. I can wear other flip flops without a problem. Sketchers tone ups are way more comfortable.

Not Your Average Shower Shoe!, June 29, 2009
If you like the ease of rubber flip flops but are smart enough to realize that flip flops offer your feet absolutely no protection or support....then these are the rubber thongs for you!
Fit Flops exploded on the scene several years ago with a marketing campaign that promised an exercized leg and a fabulously improved derriere by merely wearing a pair! Yeah, right! LOL! Dream on, Missy!
Ok, now that's out of the way, lets give credit where credit is due by saying that these are extremely comfortable and supportive and not bad looking either.
There are multiple models of Fit Flops. The Walkstar 111 model, which is relatively recent, employs a single piece of well padded leather that extends from the thong between the toes, up over the top of the foot, and is attached to both sides of the footbed. The leather top is more "rigid" than the grosgrain fabric bands of earlier models and seems to provide more support by preventing the foot from slipping as much from side to side.
The circular Fit Flop logo remains at the top of the instep but as a decorative, non-structural element.
The Walkstar 111 comes in many color combinations. I own the black patent and am quite pleased with them.
The footbed is the same as earlier models. It is 1 1/2" high at the heel and is contoured to the shape of the foot. This contouring cradles the foot and provides excellent support....for a flip flop....these do not take the place of normal shoes. These are not for long hikes, spinning class, jogging, trekking, mambo lessons, etc.
In my experience, these are excellent very casual shoes to wear around, go to the beach with, change into at the end of the day. I find them supportive, comfortable and comforting to aching feet. I also own an earlier version, the Walkstar, in Bronze. I've worn them for over a year and they've held up very well. I've worn them in the rain and they are none the worse for wear.
One caveat. They come in whole sizes only. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 but I wear size 7 Fit Flops. Some people size up, some size down. Try before you buy!

Fitflops, July 6, 2009
These are the first flipflops that I've been able to wear for an extended period of time. I've been wearing insoles for about 5 years, and my feet begin to hurt within hours of not wearing the insoles. I can wear FitFlops all day. The support is wonderful. I would recommend FitFlops to anyone who hasn't been able to wear sandles and wishes they could.

Runs true to size for me, August 24, 2009
I read the reviews on this style of fitflop and even though I had a pair of the original Walkstars in a size 10, I ordered a size 9. Well, it was too small. The tags advise you to take 20-30 brisk steps in the sandal and if your heel slides off the back of the sandal or to the right or left at all, you need to go up a size. All of these sandals seem to be made for long toes, as the length in front of my toes is almost as long in the size 9 as my size 10's. I am therefore exchanging the 9's for 10s, as the 9's are too small. I do have wide feet although I can wear normal width shoes with no problems, so I don't know if that's why they are more true to size for me. It might be a good idea to find them in a store first and walk around the store in them a bit and then order them here - as they are usually cheaper on Amazon with more colors and free shipping.
As far as the fit part goes, I don't really know yet, I ordered them based on reviews from people who have back and leg problems and have reported no pain when using these sandals. As a person with sciatica and almost no cartilage in my arthritic left knee, these are so comfortable I can walk three times as far with no pain as is any other of my supposedly "comfortable shoes". If you care about the fit part, they may work, but if you are looking for comfortable shoes because of back or knee problems, I could not recommend these sandals highly enough!

FitFlops in Florida, August 3, 2009
They're SO comfortable...I bought a pair for my 77 year old mother and she won't wear anything else. She recently fractured her pelvis and after physical therapy was still in pain, but after walking for a while in these sandals she really doesn't have any more pain (or not as much)...I'm buying my second pair on Amazon.com and have referred this site to my sister so she can buy a pair too!

Very comfortable, supportive sandal., April 26, 2010
I love these sandals! I got them for comfort, not for the leg toning feature. I do not think they really tone my legs. If you read the information that comes with it, it says that it tones 10% better that regular sandals. This could be why no one notices the toning benefit! I tried them on in the store before I ordered them and ended up ordering my regular size. I did not find that they run big like another reviewer stated. I will be ordering another pair.
Another thing I will note is that I ordered the bronze that has a dark footbed. I had a friend that has a pair with the white footbed and she is not happy because the white quickly gets dirty and the sandals end up looking kind of nasty. I'd be interested to hear if this happens to other people.

too tight, March 29, 2010
This is the third pair of FitFlops I have purchased and they definitely don't fit the same as the others. The band across the top is very stiff and actually hurts. I'm just hoping I can stretch them out because I really like the color.

Surprisingly comfy!, March 24, 2010
These sandals really surprised me! Most flip-flops rub between my toes, or just aren't comfortable to wear for extended periods of walking. I took these on a cruise and wore them for the better part of a week, which included walking up a mountain in Puerto Vallarta. . . not one blister! I can't say that they toned anything, but they were very comfortable.

Love these sandals, March 15, 2010
These are so comfortable and exactly what I wanted! The pink is perfect. I wear a 9-1/2 usually and bought a 9 and it fits perfectly so order accordingly.

best summer shoe!!!!, March 12, 2010
I have worn Fitflops for over a year now - best fitting flipflop ever! I managed to find 2 obscure colors on Amazon (bright blue and yellow) and believe it or not i've already found lots of clothes to match. Amazon always manages to find me the best prices online!
