Working perfectly
I was looking to update my macbook hd. Using the carbon copy I simply stick it in the USB, Clone it, and change. It is working perfectly. Looks like the original, but with double space.
Works, but it a lot louder than stock macbook pro hd.
I spent all day copying the stock HD into this Hitachi HD only to find out when I was done that it was 2-3x louder the the macbook pro's stock hd. A reason why I bought the macbook pro is because it is near silent and the noise coming from the drive was a no-go for me so I decided to return it. If you feel that the extra space is worth the extra sound then go for it; if...

I got this HD for the PS3. It is an afforable HD at this capcity. It has not stopped working for me yet, and thats because I use my PS3 pretty much everyday. I would recommend this brand to any one in the market for a 2.5" HD either for your laptop, or the PS3.

I wanted a larger hard drive for my new MacBook but didn't want to pay the rip-off mark up price that Apple charges for a larger drive so I bought the MacBook, ordered this drive, and---voila---I had a MacBook with a 500GB drive for less than half of what Apple would have charged. I never used the MacBook with the 250GB drive that it came with. I installed this the same day that I purchased the MacBook and it has been working well since then, which is about 2 months. So far so good with this drive. Also, if you are a Mac user, this is the exact same brand and RPM as the stock drive in the Macbook. In fact, this drive is identical to the one that I pulled out of my MacBook, except for the capacity, of course. Also, because the hard drive is a user replaceable part, upgrading you hard drive does not void your MacBook warranty---I checked this with the folks at Mac before opening up the computer and they confirmed that it would not affect the warranty.

Have installed many hard drives and this was a great price for the storage size. Would recommend to anyone who has the installation software already to be able to partition and transfer old operating system. If you do not have such software then you will not want to purchase an OEM drive.

Upgrading my wife's Sony laptop was a breeze. Not only did the capacity increase, the speed of the lap top is faster. Laptop runs like it is new. I would recomend this hard drive to any one who needs more capacity especial for digital Photograhy use.

I've ordered Toshiba 500gb SATA hard drive as a replacement for Toshiba 320gb drive.
(Old drive was literally killed by endless "panic attack" of Vista OS. When OS crashes unexpectedly it damages hard drive badly...)
It was really easy to replace old drive - they practically identical.
On the new drive I've installed Win7 and made no additional partitions. The presence of butable partition on the old drive did non help in any way. - The drive was damaged.
So far 500gb works well. However I still have a lot of concerns about Win7 stability.
I've already experienced few crashes during regular shutdown operations.
I'm 100% positive - those crashes is a major cause of damages to hard drives.
