Great addition to any Imaginext collection...
My son received this for his 4th birthday and really likes it. It has translucent doors in the bottom of the boat and a compartment for storing their little "catches." I love that it has the additional little romer vehicle for skimming the bottom of the ocean. It's nice to be able to tell your child about these things and show them how they would work in real life and...

Durable toy, some design flaws.
I agree with other reviewers in that the ocean boat is durable and sufficiently complex and realistic to satisfy ages 3-8. It comes with a one-man submersible, and this item is poorly designed -- the "hook" for pulling it back onto the ship is set into the hatch of the sub. Our experience is that every time you try to hoist the sub, the hatch simply pops open. It has...

Great addition to any Imaginext collection..., August 5, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
My son received this for his 4th birthday and really likes it. It has translucent doors in the bottom of the boat and a compartment for storing their little "catches." I love that it has the additional little romer vehicle for skimming the bottom of the ocean. It's nice to be able to tell your child about these things and show them how they would work in real life and what exactly they do and what each of the included sea creatures are called. I found it pretty educational. As with most Imaginext items, this is extremely durable, it has wheels on the bottom and when you push the boat alond the little satellite thing spins around. It's very realistic. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a young child.

WATCH OUT! Over Priced Seller, October 30, 2008
Durability: Fun: Educational:
Great toy but... The suggested retail price of this toy is $38. It is available online from Toys R Us for $34.99. There is no reason why this seller should have it priced at $64.99 other than to rip you off.

Another great toy from Imaginext, February 12, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This boat set is perfect for kids who love ships! One thing I like about it is that it's not too simple or babyish. It's a substantial size and weight, and there are lots of moving parts and accessories. This is a toy a child could use for years. The box says that it's for ages 3-8, and that's realistic.
However, don't pay [...] for it (plus shipping!) ToysRUs carries it in their stores for [...]. I wish Amazon would sell this toy direct from their own warehouse, for a fair price and free shipping.

It sinks, November 22, 2009

We bought this for a bath toy. It does NOT float. Ironically, the sub on it does float. Our boy is having lots of fun with it on the floor, and it's a great toy.

Durable toy, some design flaws., September 28, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
I agree with other reviewers in that the ocean boat is durable and sufficiently complex and realistic to satisfy ages 3-8. It comes with a one-man submersible, and this item is poorly designed -- the "hook" for pulling it back onto the ship is set into the hatch of the sub. Our experience is that every time you try to hoist the sub, the hatch simply pops open. It has been frustrating for my son. We attached another hook, not on the hatch, but it is not at the proper balance point on the sub, so you then have to "help" it over the rail for deployments and retrievals. I hope Fisher-Price fixes this design flaw in the next version! Otherwise, we are quite pleased with the boat and accessories, although we do wish that some of the action figures were female.

AWSOME FUN!, October 18, 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
We purchased this ship for our 3 year old son. We have several Imaginext toys and this one is by far is the best one that we have purchased. It is very fun and interesting and he just loves it. The quality, functionality, and educational value is exceptional. The boat and all of the accessories are very well made and will last for many years. The transaction through Amazon went very smoothly and the shipping time was faily fast. Would highly recomend this toy to anyone.

Nice big boat!, February 12, 2010

This review is from: Fisher-Price Imaginext Ocean Boat (Toy)
Imaginext is the best idea Fisher Price could ever have. The toy is amazing, big and kids just go crazy with it. One suggestion: don't buy the frustration-free packaging as I did, you think you save some bucks, but it is not that safe and our boat arrived with a small piece broken.

Where are the girls?, February 9, 2010
Durability: Fun: Educational:
My brother bought this adorable boat for our 4-year-old daughter. We really like it, as it's lots of fun, but we're disappointed that none of the figures are women. I tried to find a female figure from Imaginext to go with our boat, but I couldn't find one! Women work on research boats, too, Imaginext!
