Medical Terminology A Systems Review
I received the book with CD as a gift because I will be entering the field of medicine. The book and CD are easy to follow and I have learned more than I ever expected in medical terminology. There are better books out there.....
This book is a good introduction to medical terminology. It is not as comprehensive as some that are on the market, though. My edition did not come with a CD, but shows it as an optional tool. This book lacks a glossary and pronunciation of the medical terms. It does explain body processes in a way that makes it easy for the novice to understand, and that makes the...

Great book for learning medical terminology!, December 17, 2009
I have learned so much from this book and CD! It's a great tool for learning medical terminology (and believe me, some of the words are VERY long and hard to say!). The book is filled with pictures, tables, activities, and diagrams. It makes learning medical terminology easier!
Easy to use and follow, Medical Terminology Systems: A Body Systems Approach has thousands of terms: Prefixes, suffixes, roots, abbreviations, medical, surgical, diagnostic, and pathological terms. The audio CD included helps you pronunce the words correctly. A great book for any medical professional and healthcare student! Recommended!

A great book to learn medical terminology because it incorporates anatomy and physiology with relevant terms. This book does a nice job of introducing building blocks of terms in a way that gives them meaning.

I have been in the medical field for about 15 years. This book breaks it all down so that it would be easy for a beginner or a good refresher for a seasoned person that needs to freshen up on their medical jargon. The exercises really do help

Optioned for their 1 day delivery, came as promised. Book came very well protected and sealed. Definitely will buy all future school books through amazon. Big Savings!!

Helpful and complete, August 25, 2008
The book comes with an audio CD for reviewing terms while driving and a software CD for accessing quizzes and a dictionary. The examples and illustrations are very helpful along with the reviews. An excellent resource for the medical student.

Medical Terminology System, June 10, 2010
I was glad I choose to purchase this text book new because it is a workbook as well and a text so having the chapter reviews and summaries blank is helpful.

Books the Best, Purchase Was Pits, May 14, 2010
The book is very good, exactly the one I needed. It was also a very good price, the lowest I found. The problem I had was the fact that I went on the Amazon web site, saw the notice that if I ordered within the indicated time I would receive within 21 hours and get free shipping. When I didn't receive it within the time indicated and, I checked on my order. I was told that although I went through the Amazon web site, ordered and paid through the web site my order actually came from a third party which did not come under the shipping agreement I thought I was getting. I feel that if someone uses the Amazon site to order and there is a special stipulation, like the one regarding shipping, if it will not apply to their order there should be a pop up that lets them know it doesn't apply. I feel the way it is handled, it is very misleading. Trying to communicate with someone at Amazon about it doesn't work either. All they do is thank you for using Amazon and tell you your order didn't qualify for the special shipping.

Terrific book, April 17, 2010
I wish that I'd had this book earlier. I have taken Medical Billing and Coding and used a medical term book to prepare. It was ho-hum. Now I am getting ready to go into a nursing program and this book is awesome. I especially appreciate how it links the terms with actual visual presentations of anatomy. It also discusses symptoms and gives you practice reading physician reports. The computer CD-Rom has reviews, quizzes and puzzles that help to sharpen your skills. It even has an audio CD that gives the correct pronunciation of the terms. My daughter's nursing teacher recommended this book. How glad I am that she did!
