Exceptional Workout!
I've had this Body Rider Elliptical Trainer for about a month now, and this elliptical trainer gives you an exceptional workout and is easy on the joints. OK for the price. Shipping could've been better.
It meets my needs for a relatively inexpensive and smaller machine. Smooth enough, but would like smoother which would mean a more expensive and nicer machine. Instructions were easy to follow and parts were labeled clearly. Have one squeak that's not a big issue. My only gripe was the unit came only in its product box, not a shipping box. Exceptional Workout!, October 10, 2009
I've had this Body Rider Elliptical Trainer for about a month now, and this elliptical trainer gives you an exceptional workout and is easy on the joints. I can't believe I did not have to spend lots of money on an expensive elliptical machine to get such a great workout!! It took my husband about three hours to get this machine completely together. Everything was well organized and the instructions were very clear. This machine is as it states "a whisper quiet operaton", very smooth. The magnetic 8 levels of resistance gives you a good variety of workouts, I never get bored. The display for time, distance, calories, etc. is big and very easy to read.
This Body Rider is the perfect "at home" exercise machine. It's not too big or too small, just right for about any room you want to put it in. I'm so happy with this machine and the workout that I am getting from it. Awesome price. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent Product, Easy to Assemble, December 9, 2009
This type of product was something the wife wanted, so I did a bit of research and noted that this product seemed to be well reviewed for the price. My concern was paying much more for a product that might not end up being used much. As it turns out, I like it too, and can work it into my daily routine, so I doubt it not being used will be an issue.
As to the product, it arrived only in the product box, not any additional shipping container. The box was slightly damaged, but the product was not damaged at all.
The various parts were easy to organize, and assembly took just over an hour. It helped a great deal that all the nuts and bolts were attached to a piece of cardboard and held in place by shrink-wrap, with numbers identifying each part. The only mistake I made in assembly was not realizing that the "feet" needed to have the bolt inserted on the side with the depression. Other than that, everything was very clear in the instructions.
That said, be warned. Although returns are easy with Amazon, I have no idea how you would ever disassemble and repackage this device for shipment back. I think you're more likely to simply have to sell it on Craigslist or some such thing, or perhaps take it to the UPS Store to be professionally packed.
As to the product itself, my only complaint would be that although the movement is fairly smooth, it could probably be smoother. Smoother is probably what you get if you pay 2-3 times more money. Also, at times it does creak, but I haven't tried to address that by re-tightening some of the connections. That issue simply isn't that bad.
The magnetic resistance system works well. The electronic display is pretty well thought out, automatically turning on when you start and turning off a few minutes after you're done. It can be set to alternate between the various readings (time, distance, etc.). The pulse meter requires that you use the stationary bars, and doesn't seem to give that accurate of readings unless you hold it just right. Some sort of a device that attaches to your body by a cord would be preferable, but apparently not available.
Overall this seems like a sturdy, well-designed product, and a good value.
Edit: After using this a few weeks I did tighten up the connections and that helped the creaking significantly. Also with more use I really like the electronic display. It's very no-hassle. You don't even have to turn it on or off, and if you stop for a while it also stops counting the minutes. I think it automatically turns off after about three minutes, so that long of a wait would reset your timer. Anyway, I'm still impressed with the product.

Good for the price, November 13, 2009
This is a good item for the price. The assembly was easy in that I put it together by myself. It could be a little wider at the base to increase stability, and it creaks a little more than I would like, but the workout you get from it is great! It actually feels like a realistic amount of calories burned for the amount of time on the machine as compared to some other machines I have used.

So far, so good., December 10, 2009
I bought this product to satisfy my needs for cardio workout. The product was shipped and delivered to my apartment in less than a week time frame.
I was worried a bit after reading reviews here on Amazon website for possible shipping damages. when I received the product, the box was slightly damaged, but the product itself was in good condition.
The assembly was, overall, not too difficult. If you have some basic tools, the assembly is much easier and faster. The only problem I had was with the base assembly. I could not get the bolts tightened in with the spring washers - especially for the real base! In my opinion, those bolts were just too short to include two washers. I ended up not including the spring washer for the real base. I hope no harm will come from not including the spring washer in the future.
I did not have a chance to fully test the product just yet, as the product came in the night before this review, but I did have a chance to warm it up and kind of break in. The motion seems to be smooth and quite. In hoping for a smoother, friction-less motion, I applied WD-40 to few connecting joints. I was on the machine for about 10 - 15 minutes with mostly on 2 - 3 settings. It felt good afterwords. My heart was pumping and I had sweats on my forehead.
So far, everything seems to be working fine. I was happy and satisfied with the product after a short warm up. The product seems sturdy and quite. Size is also good. I would recommend this product to anyone!

OK for the price. Shipping could've been better., January 24, 2010
The end of the box was a little crushed which matched up with the cracked plastic flywheel housing. Since it doesn't affect performance or overly visually obvious, did not choose to complain to Amazon becausse it would be too much effort to make perfect. How do you send back something that you already spent an evening assembling? I don't have any regrets and expect to get good use from this machine.

Good for the price., January 22, 2010
I took a chance on this product after reading several of the reviews. I agree with most that is good for the price. There are a few quirks....a little squeaking and some minor rocking (on carpet). I also think the pedals could be a little longer. I find myself shifting my feet a bit more than I'd like. But for the most part I'm pleased. It arrived in great condition and my husband was able to put the machine together within a couple of hours. I get a good workout. The tension is good. And best of all I didn't pay a fortune for the equipment.

It Is What It Is, March 10, 2010
This isn't a Precor, Octane or any other high quality elliptical like you would find in a gym. It's a cheap elliptical - nothing more, nothing less. This machine ended up lasting us about two months before a plastic piece that holds the right arm assembly on broke. We thought about fighting customer service to get it fixed but decided we would bite the bullet and just buy a nice Octane machine.
We also had a problem with shipping in that the plastic body housing was cracked but it wasn't a big deal and functionality was not impacted.
All in all, this machine is what it is - cheap and not that high in quality. It might work for you or it might break but just know it's not the best.

Overall this machine is a good value, March 1, 2010
This machine delivers a good aerobic workout, it's very easy to put together and does well at serving it's purpose with a very low level of tightening maintenance and is overall a good value for for the price.
Pros:
We've had this machine for a little over a month now and I am pretty happy with it, especially for the price. My wife and I use it everyday and it has delivered a great workout as expected for an elliptical. It's also not too big, some of these machines can be bulky and take up too much space but this machine is easily stored and used comfortably in a 3'x5' space. The digital display is pretty standard offering all the basics along with an estimated caloric burn.
Cons:
Being an affordable personal use machine it isn't super solid those you see in gyms and can become loud and creaky, but that can be somewhat alleviated by tightening the key bolts and joints that move most often while in use. I'm about 5'10" and the stride length is a bit short for me but it still does the job.
