Great 4$ Balaclava!!!
This was perfect for 4 bucks with free shipping!! My snowboarding and snowmobile helmets fit their best with a thin style headliner/ full face balaclava. This is a very fair price!!!

Although I haven't tried this balaclava "in action," here is my first impression (if I remember I'll update my review come fall...)

Stupid Seam!, July 27, 2010
This review is from: Vega Black Snowmobile Balaclava (Automotive)
Although I haven't tried this balaclava "in action," here is my first impression (if I remember I'll update my review come fall...)
This Balaclava is super thin, which is nice - it'll fit under my motorcycle helmet just fine. The unfortunate part is that the seam is right in the middle of your face, and it'll rub quite uncomfortably against the tip of your nose. You can flip it inside-out but it does have a slightly different feel on the inside (same material, but the weave is different).
I was also disappointed (like I often am with Amazon purchases) in the overly large packaging - the balaclava is thin enough you could get it into a standard size envelope, and you could have probably fit 20-30 of them in the actual box it came in - but that's another story...

The product is great. It's incredible that being so thin it's so warm. Great for low temp riding. Fits great. Totally happy!!!

Good cheap and thin, June 10, 2010
This review is from: Vega Black Snowmobile Balaclava (Automotive)
Just to add on to what Mattyr1974 reviewed, yes it is a 5.00 balaclava about the price of a subway sammich so think of it as disposable. It fits like second skin just enough to cut the chilly air in MN when I am on the sportbike heading to work or to wear as a sweat barrier on hot track days. I like a snugger fitting helmet and this balaclava does not make my helmet fit any tighter. The only item I would like to elaborate on is the lack of neck protection from the wind or cold. There is not enough to tuck into my jacket, take into account I wear a XXL helmet and have a 18.5" neck so it might just be me. Oh yes, and the fit around your eyes is sloppy like the photo shows and the stitching is bunched at your nose. If you are looking for good neck coverage and a custom fit check out another balaclava that I did a review on. In conclusion this is a fantastic, thin, disposable 5 dollar balaclava.

Works better than I expected, March 9, 2010
This review is from: Vega Black Snowmobile Balaclava (Automotive)
I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved this balaclava. Not only was the material used to make this balaclava was thinner than I expected, it does a great job of keeping my head warm.

A bit small on the neck, February 26, 2010
This review is from: Vega Black Snowmobile Balaclava (Automotive)
Probably not an issue considering this is for under the helmet use, but if you're looking for lower neck coverage this won't do it. Plus, because it doesn't go so low it will likely bunch up instead of staying in place. Depends on the length of your neck I suppose. Also, if you've got a fat head, you might want to avoid this one...

Eh, it's just OK, March 30, 2010
This review is from: Vega Black Snowmobile Balaclava (Automotive)
I bought it for the extra layer of warmth, but once you place it on your face, it moves around a bit. It's no where near as thick as I thought it'd be, but when the wind is blowing, I guess an extra layer (no matter how thin) can help.

Doubles as a ninja mask, December 24, 2009
This review is from: Vega Black Snowmobile Balaclava (Automotive)
I bought one of these with some earrings for my GF for xmas. Since it was a small gift for myself with inexpensive earrings i decided to let her open it and she looked at the earrings for a few moments then put this mask on and ran around the house pretending she was a ninja taking pics of herself on her iphone and posting them on her Facebook. Keep in mind she is 27 years old. So i have to warn you. May create ninjas in your household! :)
