5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my Motorola Droid
I purchased this Headset Buddy Adapter for my Motorola Droid. I already had a wired headset (one-ear) that I love, but it was a 2.5mm. This adapter lets me use the headset that I already own and prefer. I especially like the fact that the adapter consists of the 3.5mm jack, then some cable and then the adapter, which makes the whole assembly seem more natural. I would...

Not much to say, bought this for my HTC Incredible so I could use my wired earset I used and liked with my previous phone. It arrived in good packing but the adapter itself has a break in the wire. It appears to have never been used but I plugged it in and instantly noticed static if the wire moved at all and dropping the audio both from the receive and microphone...

I would definitely recommend this for anyone one needing to convert a 2.5mm headset to a 3.5mm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for iPhone, March 6, 2010

This item was promptly shipped exactly as advertised and does work with my iPhone 3g. In my case the iPhone doesn't have quite enough power to properly drive the Plantronic headset I wanted to use (it does work but it is too quiet) but that's not the fault of this cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked with my 3G iPhone, May 18, 2010

I've bought quite a few 2.5 to 3.5 adapters that didn't work with my iPhone. I think the iPhone's 3.5 mm audio jack is less standard than one might think. I wouldn't be surprised if there were patents on the connector arrangements.

This one worked. It resembles an adapter I was able to buy 2 years ago that also worked. Like my old adapter this one feels a bit flimsy -- I suspect it's only good for about 8 months of heavy use. Since these adapters seem to come and go I suggest buying 2-3 at a time.

Update: I bought two more. All three of them work. I found an old adapter and these are substantially sturdier. So I'm giving it a full five star rating.

It appears to have never been used but I plugged it in and instantly noticed static if the wire moved at all and dropping the audio both from the receive and microphone.

I do not blame the seller as it appears to have never been used, just glad I bought a bluetooth in same order but I like to use wired when at home.

UPDATE:
In the comments to this post you will see a comment from a rep for the company and he does indeed work for them and have been in touch. They sent me a new adapter but I had the exact same trouble so I have suggested to them that perhaps it is something about how it connects in the incredible itself and not the adapter. I have since purchased earsets that work fine so it has to be something about the adapter, perhaps not ging deep enough into the jack.

I am most impressed with their eagerness to see a customer satisfied with their purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works PERFECT with my old blackberry headset, December 11, 2009
This review is from: Headset Buddy: 2.5mm Phone Headset to 3.5mm Adapter - Convert 2.5mm Headset to 3.5mm iPhone, Blackberry, Palm
I'd had a Blackberry with a 2.5mm jack for years and finally upgraded to a samsung smartphone. I bought this little guy so I could use my existing headset with my new phone. It works perfect everytime. Sound quality is great. People hear me well. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed, November 5, 2009

I recently bought a Blackberry and was annoyed when none of the headsets I already own fit the phone's input jack. The headset buddy is exactly what I needed--I didn't have to spend $30 (or more) to buy a new headset for my phone--I just plug my old headset into this, and I'm all set. I only give it four stars because the connection to my phone isn't always perfect: I can plug it in what seems like all the way and then have to fiddle with it while I'm making a call before I can hear anything in my ear piece. Don't know if that's a flaw in the product or a flaw in my phone, but seems like a phone jack shouldn't need any fiddling to work. But that only happened the first few times and now it seems to work with no problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible quality - got two, two don't work, September 3, 2010

I'll keep this short and sweet.

First units has intermittent performance and audio cuts in and out when the cable moves ever so slightly.

ACE Photo Digital responds by sending me a new one immediately. Good service? Yes, so far.

Two weeks after getting the replacement, same quality issue. However, this time ACE Photo Digital says:
"We sent a replacement over two months after you received your first order, as a courtesy. We are now also beyond the return/exchange window for this replacement item. We will not be able to process a refund or send another replacement at this time."

Not a good show of standing behind product you sell.

My response to them was:
"The replacement was sent August 9th and it doesn't work. You sent me two products that don't work. I would gladly send both back to you so you can verify they don't work. So I have two items less than 3 months that don't work and I am now screwed. That sucks. I was hoping for better service than this."

2.0 out of 5 stars Could Not Stop Shipping, August 16, 2010

I could not stop this order within minutes of my purchase. I Paid overnight for the B&W Headphones and this needed plug. When I found out that the B&W headset would be two weeks this company did not let you stop the order within 5 minutes. I ended up paying $25.00 shipping for a $4.00 cord. Ya it works but did not like the supplier.
