This review is from: Jamo S 406 HCS 1 Black 5.0-channel black home-theater speaker system
While I'm not an audiophile, I like to think that I know what sounds good as far as home audio is concerned. This system is quite frankly, an absolute steal, and for $250 I feel pretty confident in saying that you will never find anything that sounds even close to this good. I took a bit of a chance, as Jamo (a Danish company) has never really caught on here in The States, and thus is difficult to demo in-store. Still, the brand had a very good reputation, and for the price, I figured what the heck. The free shipping was prompt, and setup was a breeze. I am powering them with an Onkyo 507 deck, and an Onkyo sub, and it is truly a match made in heaven. The front towers are dynamic, efficient, and sound very clean, even at high volumes. The center channel reproduces incredibly lifelike movie dialogue, and the satellites blew the Onkyo's i had previously been running out of the water. Both the speakers as well as the cabinets are solidly built and very handsome to boot. The fronts are sleek and and have a smaller profile, so they will work fine even in a small room. My initial impression of this brand is a very good one, and I hope to add one of their well-regarded subwoofers in the near future to round out my setup. I would definitely recommend this system not only to anyone who is looking for superlative sound on a budget, but to discriminating home theater buffs as well. You just can't go wrong here.

Jamo isn't as well-known in the United States as it is some other countries, and as a result, we get to take advantage of a price that isn't inflated to take advantage of a well-known brand.
The center and satellites come with brackets on the back for easy mounting on the wall. I use the satellites as front heights and they're perfect for it.

I received this 5.0 set a few weeks ago when they were on sale. I am starting to build my first home theater system and I have done a lot of research on many different brands. I discovered these Jamo speakers but had heard nothing about the brand name. After doing research on Jamo, I found that their speakers have received many positive reviews in Europe and among higher end audio users. They are in fact currently owned by Klipsh. I could not find another set that had a price this low and included floorstanders. You can usually find a set of 5 energy satellite speakers for around the same price, but they do not have as much bass as the front floorstanders. I currently am just using the floorstanders with a stereo receiver, and I am planning on hooking up the rest of the speakers when I get a surround receiver. The speakers sound great with movies, music, and gaming. I have a PS3 hooked up and I am amazed with their sound quality and how great the bass is with all of the games that I have played. Overall, I would definitely recommend these speakers.
Pros: Great Value, Includes 2 Floorstanders, Impressive sound quality (sounds like they are 2-3 times more expensive), Speakers have very solid construction
Cons: The back surround speakers have spring clips (the other 3 speakers have banana plugs), It would have been nice if the front speakers were 3-way instead of 2-way(though this is a very minor gripe especially at this price range)
