Book Description

This is a NOVELLA of approximately 24,000 words = 70 odd pages.

It's the first day of Ninna's job in the local animal shelter...and a dog is talking to her. Not just any dog...a fat, old, smart-alecky Basset Hound who says his name is Mosey.

She can't quit, she needs this job. And then there's the yummy vet who turns out to live across the street from her. He has a house big enough to hold a few animals - including the mouthy Mosey. With all this going on, she doesn't have time to worry about the rash of break-ins and the sense of being watched. She's too busy worrying that she's nuts.

When Ninna agrees to dog sit for the cute vet from work, she sees it as a trial at being a pet owner and a way to build on her budding relationship with the vet. For Mosey, this weekend means time to get to know each other.

For the stalker who's tracking Ninna's movements, it means...opportunity.

This novella was one of the most fun stories I have ever written!  It came together easily and outside of a few formatting/editing issues, has been an dream project. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Mosey! December 26, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This hit my happy spot in so many ways. There's a bit of a Cinderella story going on, with the broke heroine, who really needs the job at the animal center. And then there's the handsome and hot vet. (Kind of prince-like now that I think of it.) And then there's the suspense. A villain who's stalking the heroine. Scary enough to give me chills. But most of all, there's Mosey. Wise and cantankerous and lovable.

I loved Mosey! I want one in my life. And I didn't even mention the surprise ending. I didn't see it coming, and it left me smiling for a long time.

Though this is a novella, it felt as satisfying as a longer book. The characters had depth, there were multiple story lines, and then there was Mosey the wise. Just thinking about it, I'm happy again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can You do Dog Talk? January 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
It's her first day at the vet's office and she wants to do well; she really needs this job. Then a dog starts talking to her. Is she losing her mind?

Ms. Mayer gave me a copy of this novelette to read for review (thank you). It is available on Amazon as an ebook.

Ninna has never worked with animals and isn't even sure she likes dogs, but she needs a source of income to pay her bills. This job will help with that. And the veterinarian is really cute and nice. Maybe this could be her dream job. If that floppy eared Basset Hound would just leave her alone, it'd be great.

He informs her his name is Mosey (and when he moves, that's about his speed). She thinks his loose skin is disgusting; he's real pleased she can hear his speech. You already know how she feels about it.

When she finds out the vet is living across the street from her, she's thrilled. Here is her chance to get to know him better, discretely, of course. Even better, he has to go away for the weekend and wants her to babysit his menagerie. She agrees willingly. That will let her know if a pet is will work for her and might also be the beginning of a relationship with Stuart. She sure never expected it to save her life...

This is a well written light tale that will make you smile with the bantering between girl and dog and girl and girlfriend. Why not download the book, get a cup of coffee or tea and sit in your reading chair with a good read? You'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

Happy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and Quirky January 21, 2012
By Holly
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Just finding employment seemed enough for Ninna; then the voices, or rather voice, starts up in her head. Struggling to cope with her new job, the stress, fear she is going insane while becoming fascinationed with the sexy vet almost prove too much for this trying to be normal young woman. Add in a near miss with a stalker and you have a plot that moves with twists and turns. The characters are fresh and fun; the ending twist is terrific. Buy it, you will enjoy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth the read
The characters are interesting....though one character, Mosey, is most interesting of all. A little intrigue, a little romance...and a lot of fun.
