The black leather iPad 2 case arrived quickly. It's perfect. It smells like leather, it looks like leather. The black stitching exudes quality and taste. The positioning of the stand is flexible and works well. The outside-of-the-case magnetic closure looks like one side snaps into the other but actually, no pressure is needed since the magnet grabs. But the fake 'snap' keeps the magnet from sliding around. Nice, secure closure of the case. The iPad 2 slides in behind the leather 'frame' and inside the case there is a small tab of material that folds around the iPad which is secured with velcro. Nice. Thus the iPad 2 is secured even when the book cover is open. The openings work for cords and such. The camera hole is big enough so that if it is not quite perfectly centered, it still works fine. The band inside the book cover is a combination of elastic so you can stick your hand in it when standing and showing it to someone or having someone else hold it securely, and fabric in which you can insert a business card or two in the slots provided. Great for watching movies on the bus, using as a display stand in the house for a digital slideshow, and for handing to clients (the case flattens to its' original size when you push the display stand to its' original flat-to-the-back-of-the-book position; apparently it stays put with an internal magnet; that's what it feels like it is doing) to show them your photo portfolio or product line-up or whatever. The iPad 2 wakes and sleeps when you open and close the case. It's not light like cheap synthetics (who knows how safe those chemicals are?) probably would be. This is beautiful quality and well worth the $29.95 I paid (price included free shipping).

This is a major improvement in regards to stability when compared with a "smart cover ". However I would never travel using this case to protect my IPad. The only closure is a snap on the end of a strap. This moves from side to side, causing the so called smart cover technology ( which is nonsense talk meaning two simple magnets) keeps turning the IPad off and on while you carry it. This flaw also allows dust dirt and even objects to work themselves easily under the cover. I see can someone really hurting their IPad that way.
In the home, it's a wonderful cover. I use it everyday. there is no option for a portrait stand but in landscape it easily moves into different angles. It's thin enough to feel comfortable in your hands as I am holding it now. The fit is perfect, the leather is good quality and the stitching is perfect.
If I owned Roo-CASE I'd sell this as a cover / stand.... it only misses the mark because as a CASE I think it's not suitable and it IS sold as a case.

I have been looking for a case that will fit the IPad2 and have been through everything from a skin to Bluetooth keyboard leather case. After more than 10 cases and I won't mention the dollars spent. I found the rooCase and with the lower price I was thinking I was going to have the same thing as the others a lose fitting case where none of the holes (i.e. cameras, speaker, volume, etc.) line up. I was surprised to find that this case fit very well and was everything it said it was. I also found the magnetic snap to be very easy to use, and the stand works perfect for using Skip or even working with the keyboard. This is a great case and I have sense ordered another for my wife's Ipad.

Case is great! The leather is a nice thick good quality material. It even has a pocket for business cards, no one mentioned that feature in the reviews i read and it comes in handy, you can even hold a paper or two in the sleeve. The adjustable stand works perfectly. I didn't like the smart cover that came with the ipad2 but love the way this one protects it and looks very professional since i use it mainly for work. I also use the stylus pen with the ipad2 and i am able to attach it to the inside of the snap closure. I almost purchased the executive cover because it had more features, but i am so glad that i decided on this one because it turns out that it serves my purposes very well and is a slimmer case!

I have had my rooCASE for a month now and would not trade it for anything else. It allows safe easy handling, affords protection for those accidental bumps, fits snug, looks smart, and has many slots for stand alone viewing. It looks expensive. I don't know how the company could sell it at this inexpensive price. Knowing now what I do about this product,I would have paid more. Dean Mars

Although the case is a bit thick, it has a nice feel to it. When the cover is opened it has a nice strap where you can insert your hands so that you can hold up the ipad vertically with just one palm.

The case is well made and very functional. I had an InCase for my first iPad and wanted the same sturdiness for using it as an easel, especially when reading on planes. This one seems just as good, especially for the price.

Item came quickly and as described but it's not perfect. First of all, like others have said there's no protection for the corners. This is important for such a fragile device. I know if I drop it there is the potential for dents in the metal or the glass to crack.

The back stand seems wobbly and only holds the iPad 2 in many different angles of a horizontal position, with no steady option for the upright vertical position. The hinge seems like it will certainly stretch or warp over time especially with use of the hand strap.

The little magnet clasp does not always catch the first time, so it takes some work to shut and even when it is shut the front cover slips around. There is also no screen protection so I ordered some adhesive ones separately but that's not a big deal as it seems to be the case with the majority of iPad 2 covers on Amazon.

All in all it is better than some other covers I have seen, but it is not perfect and will not provide full protection if you are rough or clumsy. I am not thrilled with this case's functionality and strength, but I guess I will use it until something better crosses my path in the same price range.

It is only one day after my initial review and my instincts were right. With the iPad 2 in the rooCASE in my purse, I went to work and back home. It is dented and scuffed already on the top two corners! I didn't even have to drop it or anything for this to happen. What's the point of a case with no corner protection? Will be looking for a new case. Maybe if you kept the iPad on your desk all day this case would be great but it is not for me!

great product. i have had it for a few weeks now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. If you're waffeling back and forth between this roocase and the other with the handstrap, this is the one for you. It has a handstrap also (something I don't think was on the description page). There is a slight problem with the camera lining up with the case, but you just have to adjust the iPad a little bit and it's fine. Overall, this isn't a big deal for me because I don't use the iPad to take pics. Love it and would recommend it.

This case/cover works exactly as advertised. It provides protection for both sides of the iPad 2, and works very well as a stand for angled viewing and use. The fit and finish are great, there's no problem accessing any of the ports. The stand provides a wide range of viewing angles, and provides enough stability to use the touchscreen without fear of tipping over or causing the stand to "skip a groove." The magnet sleep/wake function works as expected.

If there's a drawback to this case, it's the price one pays for that protection and stability: the skinny iPad 2 gains a LOT of thickness withthis case - a little more than an inch at its thickest points. The tablet that previously slid into your portfolio almost unnoticed (except for the weight) now has a more book-like form factor.

This case is perfect for my use, and if something happened to this one I'd buy another. If you are OK with tripling the thickness of your iPad 2, this case will give you great protection and a stable platform for reading and working.
