After going thru the pictures and description of cases available on Amazon couldn't decide, since very few or no reviews were availabe for most of the newly released products and most of them were on pre-order. This one looked nice, had good features and was reasonably priced. Also, checked the rooCase website for details about their other products, and found they have variety of products, which looked good.
Am using it for about 2 weeks now, and found it to be very useful. The IPAD 2 turns off once you close the cover and turns on when you open the cover, similar to the Apple cover. There is some arrangement on the inside of the top cover to keep papers and credit cards, which is nice. The stand can be put in different positions(about 28). When the stand is not in use it sticks to the cover base via magnets.
Overall a very nice product at a decent price.

I researched for weeks to find the best iPad 2 case and after countless hours reading reviews and looking up manufacturers, I finally came upon this Roocase folio case and the Zoogue iPad 2 case ([...]) . For this review, I will compare and contrast these 2 cases, since from my perspective they represent the best options.

Both cases are made from genuine leather and have approximately the same bulk. Both employ the smart sleep feature (which I LOVE), and both have similar designs. Neither case has a vertical stand option, but since 98% of apps work in the horizontal position, it is not a huge negative.

Here are the things that differentiate them....

Zoogue:
Pros:- The Velcro option for this stand makes any viewing angle possible. It wouldn't seem like 1/8 of an inch would make a difference, but with this case, I could adjust the angle by infinitesimal degrees to find that perfect spot. And, because the case employs Velcro, once you put in position, it stays in position! You don't have worry about typing or touching the screen only to have the case slip out of place and fall back.
-The car strap is wonderful, and we did use it for positioning on our seat backs for viewing some movies and TV episodes while traveling in the car.

Cons:
- The Zoogue case only comes in light pink, black and dark grey. That is fine for most, but since we were purchasing cases for the entire family (2 kids and 2 adults), color choices became necessary. I wish it would come in vibrant colors like blue, red, green, etc.
- The car strap, while wonderful, does stretch out a bit, and you have to make sure to fasten it tight when not in use, otherwise it can flop a little.
- The Velcro (especially the light pink) does attract some dust and debris.-nothing terrible, but worth noting
- at $49.95, the cost was a little steep. I used a coupon to get free shipping, but the price was high, and if I had had to purchase 4 of them, that would have been $200.00. Hard to swallow.

This brings me to why after purchasing a Zoogue case, I purchased the Roocase for the rest of the family (and then one for myself)

Roocase:
Pros:- I love the magnetic strap for closing the case. I cannot tell you how nice it is to pick up your case and not worry that the cover is flopping open and closed (and thereby waking your iPad and then putting it back to sleep over and over). The Zoogue case doesn't have a super convenient way to ensure the case stays closed. You can pull the car strap over the front, but that was not conveniently easy.
- I love the magnet stand that clicks back into place when you are done. Again, it is a sleek design that I love. The Zoogue case stand secures back into place with Velcro. But for this particular feature, they only used a tiny square of Velcro that over time I could see no longer being as effective in keeping the stand closed.
- I love that there were 4 color choices (we each now have a different color case so no more "you have my iPad!" arguments). And While I wish the Roocase also came in a greater variety of colors (blue, green, brown etc), the light pink was perfect for my youngest daughter, black for my husband, magenta for me and red for my teenager. It worked for our family.
- at $29.95, it came in $20 cheaper than the Zoogue case and with prime membership, I got free 2 day shipping

Cons: - While the case does allow for multiple viewing angles, nothing surpasses the Zoogue case flexibility, and so many times I have been disappointed that I could not find that absolute "perfect" angle (I know I am a little OCD :). Also, while the stand is very sturdy and in most positions will not slip out when the iPad is typed on, the lowest viewing angles do tend to slip out of place, or not work at all. Most people won't find that an issue, but for me, it can be very annoying.

In the ideal world, there would be a case that would combine the best of both features- more color options, a magnetic closing strap and magnetic closing stand, but using Velcro for the stand positioning feature (and if it were a truly perfect world, also still incorporating the car strap feature). I own both, and to be honest you can't go wrong with either case!

After purchasing my new iPad, I did a lot of looking on several sites for just the right case to protect it. Not finding just the right case, I then went online. I came across the Convertible Premium Leather rooCASE and the more I learned about it, the more I felt it was for me. I do a fair amount of online shopping, but prefer to see something in stores before ordering it online. Well, I took a chance and have no regrets. It is everything the company said it would be! I'm very happy with the red color and like the storage space under the cover for credit cards or a little cash or cloth for cleaning the screen. The stand works very well and the cover when opening and closing brings the screen up and down as per my expectations. All outlets and switches on the iPad are easily accessible and the iPad is secured and doesn't slip around once in place. I really don't think it gets better than this!

This looked nice and well made at a decent price. loved the colour and it had good reviews
Soooo I bought itn!

When it arrived I was a but put off that it snapped closed in the back, but thought ,that will be OK

Then it was , to ME , clunky looking BUT if it protected and was inexpensive, thats OK too
Well it did NOT protect all around, corners were totally exposed......eehhhh....not used to that

I had been using my Mophie for iPad on the iPad 2 ...a little oversized but it still protected the whole Ipad and did so snugly
It was safer, with all around protection. It was the better case of the 2 for protection


This does turn on and off with the opening and closing of the case...nice..

The magnetic clasp however seemed fine NOW but I foresaw POSSIBLE wear and time making it loose...possibly..
but the "binding" I shall call it, was wobbly.

My 2 year old case with a wear mark was MUCH firmer and easier to use
To be fair Mophie costs much more and not all can afford , so want to be fair to help you decide on a safe inexpensive case
i can not be honest and recommend this

I returned and bought a Casecrown Bold Standby
It is imitation leather , yes but inexpensive
It covers my case as the Mophie and does the on/off with cover open/close feature

If you can not afford or do not want to spend a lot but nEED to keep your iPad safe, CaseCrown may do it for you much better
I am very much into safety and protection of my iPad

So check it out , compare the pics of both cases, zoom in for all the little details and make an informed decision

This case is very well constructed and leather quality is very good. The bright red color is very attractive. iPad2 sleeps when I close the cover and comes up as soon as I open it. The camera holes are also good and overall very good cover. Highly recommended!

I spent a lot of time researching different covers and finally settled on this one (got it in red). I love that it has multiple angles, uses the same magnetic technology the apple covers do (auto turning your ipad on when you open cover and off when you close it). It looks and feels high quality, solid construction, and is great protection for the ipad. Another selling feature for me is that it has a holder for ID or credit cards inside - so it can be my all in one wallet & ipad! It is easy to set on the book holder ledge of the elliptical machine when opened so I can watch shows while working out. All ports are easily accessible and I really never have to remove it from the cover (I was afraid I might need to do this because it might not fit on elliptical machine book holder but it fit!). Very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stylish, quality, versatile cover for their ipad2.

Maybe I don't know all the ins and outs of iPad cases as this is my first but I LOVE the case. It snugly holds my iPad but all of the ports are easily accessible. Will be using it as a stand this weekend for displaying my photography at an event. Well made, no loose threads, so far very impressed.

Pros:

*My iPad 2 fits well inside this case- it does not slide around at all.
*Piece of mind- I feel pretty confident that my iPad is well protected from daily use (although I would not suggest throwing it around in this case).
*A few pockets on the inside of the case for you to keep ID and debit/credit cards (not all that useful for me).
*Plenty of ways to adjust angle of screen in landscape mode.
*Cutouts line up well with the ports on the iPad.
*Magnetic flap wakes up the iPad whenever opened.
*Decent Price.
*Good Craftsmanship.

Cons:
*No way to prop up the iPad in portrait mode (would definitely make the case more versatile).
*The way the case was designed, the magnetic flap closes in the back, which just seemed a little counterintuitive to me (but I got used to it).

Overall:

A Keeper!

I originally purchased the Apple Smart Cover, but after using that for a few days, I realized I needed something that would provide much more protection for my Ipad 2. I researched on amazon and found this great cover. First, red is my favorite color. Second, and more important, this cover provides great protection for both front and back, and is extremely versatile for several viewing angles. It looks and feels high quality. I also love how it snaps together on the back so I can easily take it with me (which I do all the time) and know that my Ipad is protected. It does add weight, but I'm happy knowing that my Ipad is so well protected.

The case is well constructed and protects the I-Pad very well. My concerns are two fold. First; it is a bit heavy and almost doubles the weight of the I-Pad. Second; It is a bit difficult to use the stand. I find that I cannot use it on a very smooth counter top because it slides and doesn't hold the I-Pad up. It works pretty well on, let's say, a table with a table cloth or on a bed. Overall, it is a good product if you can overlook these two problems.
