I had ordered a Marware Eco-Vue cover when I ordered my Kindle Fire, but shipping was delayed. Since I needed to order another case, I set out to buy one that would hold, at minimum, my stylus, and perhaps my earbuds and a small notepad, but after much research and personal debate, I decided to buy this case instead. To be perfectly honest, I was finally swayed by the company's apparent commitment to customer satisfaction and tecHunger's video review.
I've only had this case for two days, but I really like it so far. Overall, I think this is a well-made, thoughtfully designed product that will last. I'm also very impressed by the fact that a company rep is responding to reviewers to help resolve any issues. Also, the seller I purchased from, PC Micro Store, shipped *fast* which was great since I used my Kindle "naked" for a week and was afraid of dropping/bumping my device without any protection.
I only have found two cons and several pros - see below
Cons:
1. The initial smell - Oy! When I first opened the package, the case had an unpleasantly strong stench. I think it may have been either the dyes used or the microfiber-type lining, because it really didn't smell like leather. However, the smell has greatly dissipated in the last 24 hours, and if it continues to dissipate will be gone soon.
2. In landscape, I've had trouble accessing the menu at the very bottom of the screen when using a few apps. I'll admit this may be because of me and not the case's design itself, but I've had to kind of lift the case and then tap to access the home key, settings, etc.
Pros:
1. Easy to insert and remove Kindle - just open flap, insert/remove, and close flap. I like this better than some cases where you have to "snap" the device in.
2. Texture - for some reason the texture of the case makes it easier for me to hold my Kindle, although this could be more psychological, since I was afraid of dropping my Kindle.
3. Lightweight and slim-line - it really doesn't add a lot of bulk, so it's easy to put in my purse and to hold onto, but it seems like it provides ample protection for the screen when closed and in case of bumps and small drops (but I don't want to find out first hand, of course)
4. Grooves for standing up device appear to work fine - I tried each angle in landscape and portrait and thought all modes were stable positions.
5. Easy to reposition (landscape v. portrait) - I don't mind the velcro "noise" and think that the velcro securely holds in the device (note: when closing case make sure the outside edges line up, and the cover will close and magnetic flap will match up perfectly; otherwise you'll have to reposition).
6. Material - Leather is flexible enough to easily lay device flat, fold back front cover for reading, adjust to use stand, etc. Microfiber interior is soft enough so it won't damage screen and velcro sticks to it well.
7. The color - I loved how I could order this case in purple, my favorite.
