What are the sales numberts for Adam Lambert's pre-sale album.

Would love to know how many pre-sale orders there are for Adam Lambert's new album. Title- tbd

I've been wondering this ever since he hit number 1 on amazon. Isn't there anyone out there that can let us know the number of sales (hello, Amazon)?

Just because Adam got to #1 very quickly actually means very little as far as sales are concerned.
Some people assume that because he's at #1, that means he's sold more albums than say Barbra Streisand. That's not the case at all.
Yes, for most of that day he sold more albums than anyone else, but maybe only 1 album more that whoever is #2.
When a new album is announced they usually skyrocket initially, until another new one is announced.
I believe that Amazon only accounts for about 6-8% of the albums sold.
It's a good start though.

I disagree with the poster above. Why? Because THERE HAS BEEN NO ANNOUNCEMENT on the preorder availability of Adam's album. This has been all word of mouth amongst his huge number of fans. He has sat on the top of the Amazon bestseller list for several days purely because people passed the word of the album's preorder status from fan site to fan site. Imagine when there is actually an announcement of the album !!
Kris Allen is also a pre-order album, also no formal announcement. He was sitting at # 51 or so on the Amazon bestseller list a couple of days ago, but I noticed that he has fallen out of the top 100 at Amazon. His album release date is a week before Adam's.
I don't think Adam's popularity can be dismissed by the quoting of some vague sale percentage numbers, and who cares how many more albums ??? He is still at the # 2 spot ahead of some of the biggest names in the music industry !!

It is AMAZING that he is number one with NO promotion and even if babs sells more... ummyeah she's babs and has been around forever so I get it...I hope his album is awesome but I have YET to hear him sing something I don't like...I Love it ALL..all of it...except for MJ (rip) there is NOBODY else I can say that about

You misunderstood me. Sorry.
I was simply pointing out that being currently #1 doesn't mean he's sold more CD's than anyone else.
Actually, Amazon updates the list hourly.
Let's say that the average sale for an artist is 5,000/day. Babs would have been selling 5,000 per day for weeks already because she's been very high on the list.
Adam would have sold 5,000 for 2 days.
Which it not to say that in the long run, he won't sell more.

Both Babs and Adam are great! I love having BOTH of them in the top two categories!

I agree with Laura ... RCA hasn't even announced that ADAM'S album is available for pre-order or made any move whatsoever to promote it ... unlike Kris Allen and now Allison Iraheta. ADAM'S devoted FANS have done all the work on Twitters, message boards on the internet, etc. And still he is at the top of the charts ... not only on Amazon but also Best Buy ... I don't know about Walmart. Kris and Allison have released "snippets" of their first singles but NOTHING about ADAM. WHAT'S UP?? 19/RCA??? And Barbra has been doing some HEAVY promoting ... BTW

Well and there is the rub. Adam Lambert's album was never announced! The fact that it became available for pre-sale was just discovered by people who check all the time. The record company has still to make an announcement because they don't have the title yet and because they haven't even release a single for it yet! So in the case of Adam, it pretty amazing - and still 2 months out for the Nov 24th release date.

Adam is a new kid on the block who has paid his dues to get here.he #2 on amazone list of best seller and new rels. I preordered 5 cd's so far. Also preordered sond track for 2012 movie.

He is at # 2 on amazon.

Sad to say he's now at #3 ... probably cuz there's going to be a Special DELUXE EDition and everyone is waiting to see what that will include ... I also have pre-ordered my CD but I'm gonna buy the DELUXE Edition too ... plus he's making a video for TIME FOR MIRACLES from 2012 which is also on my to-get list. Not to forget his single when it is released.

Wow, I knew he was singing Time for miracles, but I did not know he was going to make a video as well...that is awesome! He is so very creative, I can't wait to see how he will present it! I pre-purchased his debut album & will purchase the Deluxe Edition also. I will surely purchase the movie and the video.Isn't it amazing how so many of us can be so different and yet have a global love for music (and Adam) in common! Fun reading your comments!

Lets not be too sad about him dropping to #3 or #4, or even lower. Conversely, lets not get too cocky when he is #1. All indications are that he will do quite well, indeed. For whatever reason, he lost AI. No problem with that. For Adam, first or second on AI really does not make a difference -- he is going to be quite successful no matter what. And, inasmuch as I personally think that winning will make a huge difference for Kris that he would not have otherwise, he is also a very talented singer. I do not think he will have quite the success that Adam will have, but he will not do badly either.

The CD comes out on November 24th. Before then, there will be lots of ups and downs in the rankings. Each time a popular artist releases a CD, others will likely go down some. That is the way it is. So lets be patient. Listen, I am a 59-year old male who loves all kinds of music (well, almost -- not rap), and I think that Adam is the most talented singer and performer I have ever seen! He is more than an artist -- he is a genius and I am sure that millions of people all over the World have seen the same. So relax, be patient and enjoy. We are in for a real treat!

The only thing I can say for sure is that they posted Carrie Underwood's pre-sale orders at 110k and she was at the #39 spot. Adam has to be way more than that.

As someone else pointed out, it is not just how high the artist is in the rankings, but for how long...

If you are talking about Carrie's Play On, to be released on 3 November, it has been in the top 100 for 20 days, twice as long as Adam's. That does make a difference. But, again, Adam will be fine. He is an amazing artist.
