Don't know about the satellite internet. I only had basic internet hook up (no phone). I tried resetting it several times, would not work. I also tried hooking my Ethernet cable from my laptop straight to my modem (no router), and it still wouldn't work.

This modem was one of about five modems that were acceptable to my cable company, I would suggest checking your satellite companies website or call customer service to verify. I also had to have my cable company add the device to my account by calling customer service before I could access the internet.

Well, there is a coax port, so I would assume so, but check with your provider for compatibility.

You would think so if the signal from the provider is the same. The only way to really know is to try it. And if it doesn't, return it. You would think Motorola could tell us. Hmmmmmmmm.
