If you are just looking for a music player then by all means buy this product. First of all it doesn't have a brand name on it anywhere and of course no model number. The disk that comes with it doesn't even mention Vista, it comes with all Windows XP and below, software and drivers. Thank goodness Vista installed drivers for it but they are from 2006. So I spent hours and hours online looking for updated Vista drivers, firmware, and games. I did finally figure out that the chip in it is Rockchip. Good luck finding anything for it especially because with no brand name there is not really a website that supports it. I contacted the seller because I was trying to find out at least what kind of games would run on it. They didn't know and the three websites they sent me to didn't give me anymore information than I already knew. The manual gives you the basics for most things but doesn't go into much detail. It tells you how to play Tetris but the game is nowhere to be found, there are no games on it. I did find one site that helped a little and I found out that the games that run on it are *.rkp files. Excited, I downloaded five *.rkp games, all I wanted was Tetris. ONE of the games would run but of course not the one I wanted. Then the website I found says not to update the firmware because it's a Rockchip version was RK260X and because it will screw up the player and you won't be able to use it anymore. In spite of the Technical Details and Product description:
Video play formart supporting: RM/RMVB,AVI,FLV,3GP,MPG,DAT,VOB,MP4,MOV,ASF,ASX,WMV
Supporting the newest MP5 technology you no longer need to convert your videos before uploading them to the player!, it does not play anything until you convert it to avi. Which to me is false advertising. I just received the player yesterday so haven't even tried to convert a video yet and or bothering to see if they work or not. After a day and a half of trying to figure everything out, I'm exhausted and very disappointed with this product. So like the title of this review says, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! If you want a player that is going to do all the things this player promises, find one with a brand name and a model number and one that has better support and if it costs more, then save up your money because this one is nothing but a glorified music player! And as for the touch screen, it can be temperamental. Sometimes it seems to be very sensitive and then sometimes you have to push down really hard. I gave this item two stars only because it is a nice music player.
