I used to fall asleep to this relaxing music on vinyl. Awesome to be able to program for continuous play on CD. My son uses it for biofeedback and relaxation, but I still remember the first time I played it for him as a teenager. He and his friends immediately set up for a party playing this music.

Bill Bruford AS WIlliam Bruford, in this one-shot production of excellent instrumental jazz/Prog-Jam. Among the rarest vinyl releases to finally see the day of CD. Bill Bruford guest stars in glowing fashion. Primarily spreading out on the opening and closing tracks. FANTASTIC ALBUM TO DO OTHER THINGS DURING. If you love great instrumental music, this is a must have. Considering its' rarity, it should be on the charts. In some alternate perfect world perhaps.

i must say that i always thought this was a pretty decent album but what clinched the purchase (on vinyl when it came out) for me was hearing it in a record store and thinking 'wow sounds like BRUFORD on the kit' and seeing the name WILLIAM BRUFORD in the credits on the jacket...imagine my chagrin when waiting in line after a drum clinic to secure BILL'S autograph and the only thing i can stammer is 'i really enjoyed your playing on the absolute elsewhere/in search of album' and he replied---'that wasn't me'..........still like the album, glad it's on cd.

I had bought this vinyl disc years ago, as besides being a music lover, I am also a scifi fan, and the title of this record concerns the theme regarding "ancient aliens". I had tried several times before to order this cd but had not managed to do so, until again I decided to try Amazon, as through Amazon I had also managed to purchase a cd entitled "Broken Barricades" by Procul Harum of which I had the vinyl version but in bad condition, and which was it seems, impossible to find in cd version, since I had asked some friends in America to find it for me without sucess; and I myself when in UK checked with HMV, and they told me it was deleted, yet I managed to get it through Amazon. Thank You !

The only reason I found this is because I decided to do an Amazon search for what I believed was the most obscure record in my entire collection. And, lo, here it is. For those interested, this was a "project" by some '70s space rock musicians, sort of a soundtrack for the guy, Von Daniken, responsible for "Chariots of the Gods." Oldtimers might remember Von Daniken was hugely popular in the '70s and everyone in the U.S. was all worked up over the Bermuda Triangle and Loch Ness Monster and crop circles and landing strips and UFOs and all of it. The usual fun with hysteria, in other words. Even Leonard Nimoy got a spooky half-hour piece of claptrap on TV out of it. Anyway, the album is middling, unadventurous space rock, sitting pretty firmly in 4/4, with the synths doing their synth thing and the drums tapping along. On very rare ocassion, a moderately fiery guitar solo breaks out. Maybe only once. I bought this at the time I was deep into Yes, Genesis and the crazy likes of Michael Hoenig (Tangerine Dream) and all sorts of sounds that go with mood enhancement vehicles. I played this a lot for a brief period in my mid-teens but it has laid dormant in the racks for probably 25 years. Why someone saw fit to bring it back now is anyone's guess, but in these times, every bit of data can be salvaged for a world that never lets go.
